Hajime no Ippo

Is Morikawa back?

Is Ippo back?

Attached: 002.png (1786x1300, 616K)

after several decades of learning how to block punches to the face with his nose, he just learnt that he can thorw punches with his left hand

He was a Japanese/OPBF champion for a while. And even #3 ranked for a time. Imagine how good he would've been if he used his left hand.

Ippo can be good when it's not focusing on Ippo himself, but this arc was bad because it was about "teaching" Ippo one of the most basic fucking things in boxing

Pacquaio-esque character when?

wait what? ok maybe you're explaining it right and dumbing it down do you mean he learned to throw a fullpowered straight with his left hand? so he can go southpaw now?

No. After years of boxing and becoming a champion this is literally the first time Ippo realized how useful left jabs are

why is Ippo such a joke as a character??

everytime I think "hmm maybe I should pick up the manga instead of waiting for an anime" I get something like this

But Ippo got ruined by jabs a shitton of time in his career.

Yep.

He's already started thinking he's a boxer again
It's over
God save us from Kumi

He was never #3, I think he topped at 6 or 7 but he got a match with #2 who used him as a prep fight for a rematch with Ricardo.

It'll be fine, as soon as she catches him shadowboxing she'll break his legs with a sledgehammer

Already happened and beat Ippo.

Kumi will probably snap

Her actually stopping Ippo from getting back in the ring probably won't happen but you think she'll Kamogawa out on being such a shitty coach?

Don't you mean "jab?"

Takamura losing fucking when?

unironically never
i like it better this way because takamura sort of absorbs all the protagonist trapping tropes off ippo

Don't worry man his loss is going to be the cornerstone of the entire manga and it will be truly special

These chapters feel more like meta narrative. Instead of Ippo forgetting these basics it feels like Morikawa is grilling himself for dumbing down the characters and making the whole manga around super moves. Remember when Ippo beat a guy by controlling the fight and using his experience of fighting out boxers?

kek

Takamura should have lost to Hawk

You mean Eagle.

What's up with all the rings

It's the next tier after exploding french fries, onion rings.

Andy Ruiz-esque character when?

when they introduce a character named Terrence Rex

in ten years when takamura might actually have reached the heavyweights

Reminder that George is 65 years old and will die before finishing Ippo. Too bad I really like it.

at least if he gets ill and knows he cant go on for much longer, he can bring up takamura's eye and ippo's brain damage and end the series on short notice

>George is 65 years old

Lmao no he isn't

George shouldn't tease his readers like that. Ippo is still a low IQ sandbag and Kamogawa never realises he's an idiot coach who teaches his boxers wrong.
