Why do studios keep wasting time with OPs and EDs? That's easily 2 entire episodes worth of time wasted on something most people just skip anyway.

Are you being retarded on purpose?
You better not be.
1. Cross-promotion with artists.
2. "Brand value". You will associate the OP with the show, triggering certain memories and emotions of it.
3. From the time of TVs, to get snacks and pee before the show starts.
4. OP to get hyped ED to unload.
Let's get real here, that entire list is bullshit. The real reason is to save animation budget, OP.
>most people just skip anyway.
*retarded subhumans
Because Japanese TV isn't like American TV where producers half ass a 10 second theme song to add more commercial time for shilling hamburgers and drugs, there's more effort that needs to go into it. Artists can get big boosts from being tied to a popular anime or tv drama. Some of my favorite artists I would have never even heard of if it wasn't for that idea. Besides, apparently Japan is much less prone to skipping OP and ED anyway, but why the hell would you when so many of them are great songs?

If something is an adaptation sometimes the OP and ED are really the only worthwhile parts of the anime. But in general they set the mood. I don't think you'd get more content if they removed them either. You'd more than likely just get more commercials. And you talk about skipping the OP and ED but these series air on TV and you can't do that on live TV.
First impression is everything. OP/ED are the biggest first impression and the next is first episode.
People will dismiss something based on their first 10 seconds worth of impression.
Untrue, the best first episodes of the high rated anime always skip the OP entirely or use it at the very end like an ED
Example: Overlord, HxH, Konosuba, Mitsudomoe, Berserk
While absolute garbage like Maosama Retry! shamelessly used the OP in the first episode normaly.

That just proves his point, that if an anime can't make a good first impression with it's content they put the OP first. Or, rather, they only skip the OP if they have something worthwhile to show instead.

Hmmm... excuse me?

I bet you also watch Anime in 2x speed.
Because not giving credit to an animation studio and production staffs is a crime.
>to save animation budget
OPs and EDs are usually some of the best animated parts of the show. Think of all the minutes of flapping mouths they could have injected if they skipped animating the OP and ED.
A good OP can draw in people that might otherwise not have been interested in the show.
Look a the number of views on this OP for example and take a guess if a number of them also checked out the show after seeing/hearing it, alt hearing people talking about it.
I actually get where OP is coming from. I was legit pissed when they decided to waste important time with the opening in the last episode of Mob Psycho season 2, making the episosde end before the massive cliffhanger from the manga.
>wanting an anime to end in a cliffhanger
>most people just skip anyway.
Retard. Most anime viewers watch that shit on live tv
>most people just skip anyway.
fucking plebs I swear
Who cares retard. People have been putting spaces between lines on Yea Forums years before reddit was even made. You're the one posting a pink wojak edit
You just proved his point, this was before everything went thru the gutter. Around 10 years ago having a proper intro was the norm, now you barely find that in cartoons.
>not wanting to sell the ED/OP songs and get money from it
faggot
Well said Scholomo
>something most people just skip anyway
Because they realized autists will eat them up anyways. You save a ton of money with OP and ED. Your 5 minutes of reused scenes generate attention and take away a huge animator load.
As you can see from this thread autists really love OPs even though theyre a waste and an insult to the viewer
I'm honestly quite surprised that there are so many of them here, i expected better
With all those retards to pander it's no wonder that the industry is garbage
I always skip ops because they spoil the shit out of everything
Spoiler culture has gone too far.
Sorry user but you're a huge pleb.
