I know there's not enough source material yet for a second season, but I really hope Wit announces it soon. Why doesn't Yea Forums talk about this masterpeice?
Mahō Tsukai no Yome

Yea Forums is pleb central
Yea Forums never talks about good series.
It was okay, but I was getting tired of Chiyo fainting for weeks at a time every arc.
It's bizarrely slow paced that supposed to be more contemplative like what you see in KyoAni's or P.A. Works' stuff, not dreadfully boring
I think Mahō Tsukai no Yome is similar enough to series like Violet, and yet she has threads just about everyday. Chise is way more beautiful than her.
The anime is actually boring and does nothing interesting with its setting.
>Elias ends up being a retarded manchild with no allure of the ancient magus
>Chise is an obvious author self-insert who gets a hot familiar shapeshifter in addition to Elias who can shapeshift too
>the story structue is painfully repetitive with Chise getting her ass in danger and Elias being too much of a dumbfuck to shield her from it, over and over again
The current arc looks good but i just know this author will fuck it up too
To your first point, from the very beginning Elias was that way. The author wrote him as someone who is child-like. He learns from Chise, she learns from him. They're both children, really.
To your second point, this is just mere speculation and a meme point.
To your third point, yes, I agree this is a weakness in the series. It can be a bit repetitive.
Stuff released monthly tends not to get as much traction on Yea Forums.
>To your first point, from the very beginning Elias was that way. The author wrote him as someone who is child-like.
The problem is that his character traits clash greatly. He is supposed to be well-versed in human affairs, cunning and manipulative, enough to keep track of his own allies and enemies and make the church shit itself from his own presence. At the same time the story tries to pull the "he doesn't understand humans and emotions like a complete autist" card which goes against his established reputation and sheer life experience and sabotages his entire character. He is not even competent enough to protect Chise from the most banal shit, how can he be competent enough to have a reputation of a powerful magus even the local Hogwarts wants to see as a teacher.
>To your second point, this is just mere speculation and a meme point.
Dunno user, the author looks like a complete landwhale.
It's gone on too long now to the point where I've just lost interest, should have ended it at Joseph going to sleep, now they're off at some magic university and introducing all these new characters that are boring as fuck.
Only good thing about the anime as it was is the ED.
So you're complaing Elias is a walking contrdiction of a character? Sounds pretty realistic to me.
The author being a 'landwhale' isn't evidence of anything and again this is just some shit meme point. Also, even if Chise is a self-insert character, that doesn't even matter as far as the series goes. It doesn't make it any worse or better. You're just taking about the author's motivations rather than the series itself. It sounds like an ad hominem.
> Chise is an obvious author self-insert
Who would want to self insert as someone who effectively has terminal magic cancer, constantly gets severely injured by monsters, and whose 'husband' is a retarded manchild who doesn't seem to even like her romantically all that much?
Elias does like her even in his childlike state of emotions and doesn't want to share her with anyone. On top of that she has that dog familiar who transforms into fuckboy.
As for magic AIDS, she reached such a condition where her curses balance themselves out.
Not wanting to share her, being jealous, etc. doesn't indicate romantic interest necessarily.
Someone who wants to be dominated and owned.
>Sounds pretty realistic to me.
Not really. He is a walking contradiction to a point of complete disbelief.
>You're just taking about the author's motivations rather than the series itself
It would've been great if it was so easy to discern those two.
God, this is such a stupid meme. You're only basis is that the mangaka happens to be a woman. Sounds like you might just be an incel, user.
You can't discern between an anime and a person? Are you that dense, user?
> Reached such a condition where her curses balance themselves out
She's basically a ticking time bomb who has no idea when that balance could be tipped though.
"Child-like state" is right for Elias, at this point despite a few romantic-ish moments Chise is mostly only portrayed like a mother over him that he doesn't want to share around. Also Ruth as well is stated to more or less be an extension of herself, and she only seems to view him as a child/pet.
Sorry, your*
Get back to your tumblr or whatever shithole you've crawled from
Incel confirmed.
You don't even know what this term means, abomination.
Still, no argument from you. Just give it up, user.
You don't have an argument in first place, landwhale.
Look at the typical shoujo protagonists and their love interests and you will find a shitload of traits they share with Chise and her relationships with Elias.
How is it wrong?
you know its a shitposter when they starting yelling about tumblr.
you know its a shitposter when they starting yelling about incels.
You’re the one claiming self-insert, not me.
>Shoujo
Too bad this is a shounen, user.
If it quacks like a duck...
There’s nothing connecting the two. It’s a baseless inference.
Judging by your reaction, the comments about self-inserts really hit the mark.
This is you.
Still, no fucking argument. Also, I’ve already said even if the point is admitted, it doesn’t affect the value of the series as a whole.
That's not proving it wrong.
The last resort “well, you can’t prove it wrong”. Looks like the debate is over, user.
Well when you're ready to have a discussion like an adult, let me know.
>it doesn’t affect the value of the series as a whole
Value? What value? It's one of the worst "young girl + monster" stories on the manga market. The only thing triggering your fat ass is the comment about self-inserts because you know that it is true.
I’m not triggered. The self-insert point was made and I debated it. That’s it. First, there’s no good evidence for it. Second, even if true, it’s not relevant to whatever value, or lack thereof, the series has. That’s it. I’m the one having an adult conversation while you all are going on about the author wanting to be dominated. This is textbook red herring and ad hominem crap. Argue on the basis of the series, not how you feel about the author, their gender, etc. it’s not relevant at all.
>not how you feel about the author, their gender, etc.
This is not your safe space sweaty
Again, now you’re just shitposting. If you can’t see how the author’s gender, character, etc. has nothing to do without whether a series is good or not, you must be seriously dense. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume you’re shitposting.
I just want to hug Chise and tell her that everything's going to be alright
Chise is for _____
gettable.
Has there ever been an anime that fangirled over England so much?
I really like the setting, because I have a boner for old school magic where the primary concern isn't flashy spells but keeping the various spirits and fae happy.
I think Elias is interesting. The other user claiming he's supposed to have a reputation of being manipulative seems to have misread something. He has a reputation of being dangerous, and out of control of the various factions, but that doesn't mean he's smart with people. Not giving a fuck about people makes him dangerously unpredictable to the church and shit.
Also he keeps letting Chise fuck up because she's emotionally retarded and willing to sacrifice herself for basically anyone. He can't keep her from doing so because that attitude is completely foreign to an essentially selfish being like Elias.
