I have found 2.3x speed to be optimal for me, I’m a fast reader and can’t speak Japanese so it doesn’t matter whether or not their voices sound right. Also if you need to watch anime at default speed to understand what is going on then you are probably slow yourself

Most japanimation should be watched at 1.1-1.2x, but I go as high as 1.77 when the show is complete trash but I don't wanna drop it.

I play it on a really high speed, and watch it by pausing every time the subs change to admire the frame. It's like playing a VN but in reverse.

Anyone who speedwatches should be drawn and quartered. I understand you're mentally deficient, but it's a pretty simple concept: if something can't keep your interest enough to watch it at normal speed, you just drop it and find something else.

Using two eyes and two brain hemispheres to watch two episodes is more plausible. Like those US helicopter pilots.

Normal speed for most, 1.5x for shonen, speeding up the more typical shonenshit there is. Watched naruto mostly at 4x while skipping flashbacks and fillers. It felt much more well-paced that way.

I do for escapism, therefore, I must watch something good, otherwise how am I supposed to escape, right? If a show is so bad to be only enjoyable at 2x, why in hell should I watch it?
