Depends how it goes. Anime was pretty popular and internationally mainstream in the 90's and 2000's. Then it all kind of started falling apart and losing its western and international appeal when the SoL genre went out of control and overtook Japan by storm.
Then again, western entertainment and media back then was also significantly better then today's trash, where creators and studios more interested in filling a "socially-acceptable" diversity quotient for more views, or condensing entire seasons into forgettable 7-hour bingefests on Netflix.

Not a manga, but she's the character RO635 from the mobile gacha game "Girl's Frontline" She's an anthropomorphize of the Colt RO635 9mm carbine. If you like guns and cute girls, enjoyed Metal Gear's convoluted storyline or are just really /ak/ in general, you'll love the game-- even though its' gachashit, you only have to pay for cosmetic items, and all of the girls and functionalities can only be unlocked through gameplay and farm-able resources, so just playing it without spending money doesn't bring any disadvantages, unlike in other gacha games

Yeah, it is The author of it made a character to stand in for the player's character, but they made her a woman (because they are a notorious /u/fag) in contrast to the game's male or gender neutral player character, much to the chagrin of most players.
