Hmm, there seems to be a problem with this show. The characters outfits seem to increase in area (or stay the same) and cover more of the girls bodies when they become more powerful when we all know the area of clothing covering the body should decrease while power increases (Tyson 2008). This is due to the fact that the power they posses will act as armour and the clothing will only hinder their movements when they fight. There is also the theory that the armour might actually block some of the power and thats why most of the clothing should be removed predominantly around the abdomen and thighs. Hibikis outfit seems to be following the abdomen-thighs principle (Hilsburg 2010) but it has been shown in tests that the abdomen should be 95% uncovered when the energy released is at 4.18 x 10^15 joules which I believe Hibiki has long surpassed. As we see in the picture the abdomen is mostly covered and would need to be entirely bare with this much energy output.

GC was the show that taught me to appreciate the inherent silliness in things. It's notable that the main problem with it was that the writers were entirely too clever - there are all sorts of interesting and odd character actions and reactions sprinkled throughout the show, but the audience was never given enough information to pick up on them, especially because they did that dumb ass thing that the Japs love where all the lore is backloaded in the last two episodes. It's much better on a rewatch.

The second TV season is much better (the movie is much more action-packed but the narrative is so horrendously ruined that it's not the version you should watch first) and you'll start to see how Symphogear was so heavily inspired by it.

Is it weird that season 1 is my favorite by far but I don't exactly know why? I mean it's not like it's some eloquently written masterpiece compared to the other seasons and the animation and fights really only improved as they went on, but for some reason I got invested in season 1 in a way that none of the other seasons managed to replicate. I've tried to figure out why cause while I think the other seasons are still fun, the first one is the only one that I really loved up to the end. Also it has the best theme song no contest, the part where it kicks in at the end of episode 12 is a level of hype unmatched by anything else in this franchise.

In season 3 all those people got brought back after they died. Even the villain "survived" in altered form and the villain from the previous season got redeemed.

S1 has only three main characters so it can focus on them much more.
It has a simple arc of suspense without crazy turns and twists leading to a simply amazing badass finale.
It has Hibizerker, shows Hibiki and Miku being gay much more than any other season, and Genjuuro is actually doing a lot of action.
Due to its cheaper quality it has a more trashy appeal but it's full of soul and was at its time more of a hidden gem than the hit it is today.
Also the writing didn't seem to be under the heavy influence of corporate executives who want to sell lots of CDs yet.

The cast really is too big. Trying to juggle six leads ends up with this constant awkward thing where they're always finishing each other's lines like some kind of hivemind just so they all have something to say. FIS was a mistake.

AXZ had the opening, , Axia no Kaze which was really cool in my opionion, Change the Future, Hibiki and Dess teaming up (Tsubasa and Jii was kinda silly), Hibiki and Germain teaming up, God bikkie, last ignition, Oraoraoraoraora and an excellent cliffhanger.
