Darling in the FranXX is Studio A-1/Cloverworks, though. Trigger just helped up until a certain point and Nishigori never actually let them get a word in.

It's boring, stilted, filled with CG, random silences in the midst of conversations, the character development is minimal and in the end, the characters aren't really interesting at all.
