What a load of BS! Tons of shows in the 80's and 90's have always had extra OVA episodes. HxH 99' for instance and even that looked like shit compared to the HxH 11' Greed Island.

70s was when they started experimenting with anime art, 70s anime were quite shit. 80s were when they were refining it. You may have fond memories of them. 90s was when they mastered it to an art and everything was good. 00s was when they started switching to new computer art. By mid 05s, it was refined enough and by '10s, it was getting mastered. Now we're in a new transition towards 3D. It looks quite painful at times, but give it another 5 years and it will be good.
