Well, in a way it get back to DB's roots. Tournaments aside, the enemies not beaten by Goku before Raditz can be counted on your fingers. Everyone else was just Goku support (Bulma provides tech, Mutenroshi/Karin/Kami train, some people provide some support during actual battle like Tenshinhan or #8) plus jobbing squad. It's really Z that brought other characters to relevance despite what some memes tell.

not really, a flaw is a flaw no matter how you look at it if you're earnest and want me to elaborate I will although my memory of GT is hazy. To be quite honest I do prefer the direction GT went in more than Super but the subjective opinion doesn't excuse the objectively sloppier parts. But if you aren't earnest I do hope being contrarian makes you feel special.
