How is the animation so good in these? Which one will burn through it's budget first?

I think the background art is amazing and the character designs are good, but the actually anime style almost sticks out too much for me from everything else. It's not a deal breaker because the music and animation is good.

fastest manga drop so far for me. Probably didnt help that I became aware of how much of a hack ohkubo is with soul eater (great concept, fucking nice punk-street style art, interesting characters, but terrible writing, fireforce seems to have even less distictive characters and less interesting setting).

Left is awfully directed with good animation but awful cgi usage
RIght has meh writing and the studio often runs out of steam after a few eps
Mid will be consistent and will only be a slog at later parts

Vinland Saga has a great character-driven narrative, so if the animation subsides (they’re waiting 2 weeks before going weeky so i don’t think so) then it can just fall back on that.

well comparing it to the stuff that comes out lately its really good animation
most of the shows now are zoom ins on stills and power paint so i guess we went back to some really early anime

This isn't sakuga. It is actually good though. Way better than that head kick, trap running and alleyway running bullshit. If they'd actually animated the show properly from the beginning then I wouldn't have dropped it.
