Eh, I think Schizo is an interesting take on Isekai shit. It always feels kinda weird when some random japos basically body snatching some poor innocent girl's body. Being a stand/separate personality is a better take of it.

But most 'body snatching' revolves around merging memories. While there is a dominant side it doesn't mean the person is the same as he was in the modern world anymore, there's usually a heavy but subtle influence from the person they reincarnates/transmigrates into.

Let alone you have stuff like Death Flag where Harold's native ego is so powerful it even affects the way the isekai ego talks much to his chagrin. And then you have really good shit like TAS where Sophie and Brendel merging together is a core part of the overarching plot and even contrasts with White Reed and Nemesis whom take a completely different route.

Sure there's a lot of stories like that. But there's also a lot of isekai where the natives go "oh villainess x changed ever since she's been in that accident/fever/coma", I think that quality as body snatching since her personality noticeably change.

Stories where they got reincarnated as a baby or took ever when the bodies is still very young is more acceptable to me. It's too bad stories where the isekai'd person feels that their personality has changed ever since they inhibit a new body is pretty rare.

Yes well the person drastically changing is what allows for that underdog turnaround that's so enjoyable to many. And in the case of many body snatch types, it's just a delayed reincarnation where the old memories don't surface all too quickly until the body gets old enough or suffers from trauma, which means even though the personality is different, it's still the same soul. Kind of like if you played a character in a vidya, then made a new character afterwards, even if the characters are different right down to their class and shit, it doesn't mean it's a different player. This is especially relevant for cultivation novels since for many of those they view the soul as the player so to speak. You'll get lots of instances where the MC eventually undergoes flashes of their previous lives cause of the whole Samsara thing so the whole body snatch issue is largely irrelevant from that perspective since it's essentially roleplaying.
