We're biased, but yes, it is worth watching. Slayers OG is strong if you can deal with it being a 90s anime to its very core, NEXT is peak-Slayers, and Try manages to handle the concept of "the end of the world" better than its contemporaries. People look down on Revolution and Evolution-R for good reason, but I still recommend it so long as you don't take the plot as serious as it was in Try and are willing to ignore a certain character.
I prefer subbed because Gourry in the dub is voiced by Eric Stuart, so he just sounds like Brock and there's a major lack of pathos at a certain key moment in Next with him, ruining the scene. Lisa Ortiz does fine in her role. For the OVAs you can do either subbed or dubbed because Kelly Manison NAILS Naga to a tee.

The light novels make it more clear that Lina was psy-op'd by Xellos and Hellmaster to work against Garv without knowing it. If it wasn't for Xellos and Hellmaster, Lina could have very well helped Garv defeat the Demon King of the North, and from there the rest of the Mazoku subordinates and fragments of Shabranigdo.
Instead, she got conned so hard the only option Garv's faction had left was to try and kill her, and it's because she weakened him enough with a Ragna Blade Hellmaster was able to assassinate the true hero in the whole situation.
