Secondly, the anger when you realize you are trapped. The lamentation at this impossible foe which traps you and the desire to be free fills you with anger and determination to overcome.
Thirdly the realization that you DO have the power within yourself to overcome. Looking for your loved ones for help, and with their help, gradually overcoming your problems.
Fourthly, the relapse. You again realize how powerless you are. As everyone around you sacrifices their wellbeing to try to help you. Seeing this only sends you further down the spiral.
Fifthly, pushing everyone away from yourself, by force if needed. Throwing away your relationships with loved ones in anticipation for the final phase.
And lastly, death.
