Yeah, I'm thinking she's back.
Mari Okada
Back to ruin your day with some overblown melodrama.
>Not liking Mari Okada overblown dramas
It's like you don't like anime at all
Was she gone? That must have been a nice time.
Look, the setup, or at least some of it is cool. Like that bitch walking in on the dude jacking it to a train train. Perfect. But what happens next? She drops her spaghetti, turns super hysteric and runs away. Just. What. The. Shit. Was. That. RUINED.
And that's just one example. Need another?
Didn't she have a movie before this?
There are people in this board that for whatever reason do unironically praise that overhyped hack writer that is Mari Okada. But you are not one of them.
I don't even mind her running away anime girl style. What bothers me the most is that Okada tries to be serious and mature or whatever and then cuts drama with typical anime humour. She's one of the people that Miyazaki rightly accuses of not knowing how to human, even her supposedly serious, """true-to-life""" drama is just the most nonsensical and melodramatic soap opera. She's one of the biggest forced memes in the industry.
>doesn't know how to human
>one of the biggest forced memes in the industry
Maybe all she needs a good dicking, or two? Might that fix her? Or would it make things even worse?
I just read the available chapters and skimmed the raws. It's pretty shit. I don't know how she managed do it, but she mad Kuzu No Honkai but with even worse characters and lesser writing. Sasuga Okada sama.
I don't think so. Maybe she's much too old to change now, but regardless, she's trapped in a endless feedback loop where the industry is constantly rewarding her hackery. She most definitely is not incentivised to change. Maybe if she converted to Christianity and gave up on degenerate writing she would produce a masterpiece. But I doubt that will ever happen.
Someone fuck this woman already
I mean have you checked out her biography? Her life was like an anime melodrama.
And having it be the basis of everything she's produced is old and tired. Time to move on,
I mean no one's putting a gun to your head to watch her work, apparently it's got an audience because she keeps getting work.
You're right. But that doesn't mean the manga/show shouldn't be shit on just because a different group of people like it.
I've been hate watching her works since forever, user, I know how screwed in the head she is because of her upbringing. But you must fight arrested development, you are a human capable of change. I swear, Miyazaki was talking precisely of people like Okada when he criticised the industry, she's the archetype of everything wrong with the medium. There is a lot of degenerate stuff that is at least capable of communicating some interesting concepts and ideas, Ghost Urn comes to mind since it's first and foremost yuri CGDCT shenanigans, but it drips talent and is genuinely peppered with thought provoking stuff. But Mari Okada is not only an immensely repetitive writer, the themes that she focuses on the most aren't even interesting nor very well developed, her writing is always either a coping mechanism and/or just a vehicle for her perversions or a wayt for her to disseminate her political ideals like feminism. It's always the same stuff over and over and over again. Really tiresome writer. With such a wealth of interesting manga and more or less obscure but prolific and acclaimed writers to reward with anime adaptations, why is this forced meme still getting adaptation after adaptation or being given charge of anime originals that are always invariable mediocre if not complete and utter shit? It's perplexing.
Because as user pointed out the "woe is me" market is always viable.
What's the bingo gonna look like this time? Any chance of a full blackout?
Absolutely. Even homosex came in relatively early. Pig tails chan is feeling sorry for herself because her crush wants hard and fast train ramming her station.
Yeah, unfortunately with must embrace the cynicism. I'm not militantly anti-capitalist by any means, but it's just terrible how economics kills the artistic drive of the industry. That and probably the fact that hacks like Okada, regardless of their faults, simply have the excellent networking skills that other underappreciated creatives severely lack.
I think mangafags have bingo'd this one already.
I agree, but think of it this way. For every good mangaka that goes unnoticed think of the dozens of hacks who flood the market when they think their generic isekai idea can compete with the succesful ones. Someone who is commercially viable will always take priority. Compromise between that which is risking investment and artistry is necessary.
You're absolutely right, user. I would only add that the current state of the industry is merely a symptom that does not exhausts itself in the industry. If the market is afflicted with sickness, then of course the shows that will emerge will reflect that. This is why the Abe procreate meme is kind of silly to me, you can't gaslight a people into surpassing a problem that is more than just simply cultural. Even obscenity laws can go so far, if your populous is degenerate, then it won't be fiction that will solve the problem. Maybe at the most it can ameliorate it but I haven't seen corroborating data this. Economics do what economics does, all we can do is hope that for every 100 Okadas we get something that is genuinely great.
Thank fucking God I've seen this thread. I was about to watch this show. You just saved me 24 minutes of my time.
>Miyazaki good
lol
>Miyazaki baaaad
What an embarrassing post, user.
