what's your preferred media player/codec pack?

I'm still using mpc with the last CCCP update. I never really cared much about codecs or shading or other stuff like that, but I've been around long enough to avoid VLC for reasons I don't really understand.

No idea, I just use whatever Kissanime uses

MPV is easy for a computer illiterate fellow such as my self

pot players already give me all i need

MPC-HC, madVR (Jinc).

>using codecs
What year is this? KCP is literally just MPC-HC with madvr and xysubfilter. Surely you could be arsed enough to install them separately.

You CAN watch after a short buffer period with torrents, if you're downloading the episodes separately (which is going to be the case for all currently airing anime anyway, and if it's an old release why do you care about the waiting period?)

Why yes, I using vlc app on my phone

I use default VLC and I don't get why people dislike it so much. Never had a prooblem with it on any OS

Images like this make me want to start streaming just because they're so autistic.

because even if you havent had problems the quality compared to mpc with its extentions doesnt compare you fucking brainlet

No I've just never really cared that much. Everything I watch looks fine enough so why go through the effort? I'm a lazy person.

>through all the effort

newfag

Downloading anything at this point is added effort which is all too much effort.
Sorry I'm too autistic for you.

I only watch 360p anime finished from shitty streaming websites because my HDD is too small, then I put the anime on my original first gen jailbroken iPad and watch them using the default video player

mpv with this config:
profile=gpu-hq
scale=ewa_lanczossharp
cscale=ewa_lanczossoft
glsl-shader="FSRCNNX_x2_16-0-4-1.glsl"
glsl-shader="KrigBilateral.glsl"
glsl-shader="adaptive-sharpen.glsl"
linear-downscaling=no
sigmoid-upscaling=no
volume-max=150

looks breddy guude

What is a good madvr setting for upscaling 480p anime? There's a lot of shows from the early 2000's and before that never saw blu-ray releases, and they look like blurry garbage on my 1080p TV.
My GPU is a GTX960.

I went from using KCP to MPCBE with madvr and I see a big difference. I really like messing around with settings and I've come up with something that looks great on my monitor.

>extensions
vanilla every time, just like the artist's original intentions

Why won't my MPC play mp4 anymore? Since idk when it can only play the audio but the image won't show up.
mkv works just fine tho.

At least I'm not fat.

>What does a codec pack even do?

Nothing. It's for retards who don't realise their operating system already includes codecs.
