ITT: series that have long since jumped the shark, but you are still enjoying

I liked it more when it was a story about humanity's struggle for survival against an unknown enemy, but it's still an interesting read for all the twists and politics

>Facist: The manga

>facist

I was expecting that they would be the last of humanity, the titans would be the result of trying to create bioweapons, and that they would be stuck in a cycle that's been going on for centuries, which is basically the most cliche reveal possible. The ACTUAL reveal was far more interesting, and now I'm hooked. It also gets points for being a shonen in which named characters both kill without remorse and die permanently, and being a fantasy anime with actual worldbuilding rather than being another Dragon Quest ripoff.

It's a seinen published in a shounen magazine, just like Death Note.

lmao

>I liked it more when it was a story about humanity's struggle for survival against an unknown enemy

Same, every victory and every inch of ground gained felt more impactful, but now knowing the full picture it feels less so, considering what they really were fighting against, where they were fighting, etc..

It makes me want to see an alternate version where there is no Eldian vs. Marleys and they're actually the last remaining humans, fighting to take back their territory. Could still have Titan shifting in it maybe...

You should read Tokyo Ghoul and TG:re. It's whole new definition of "jumping the shark".

>It's a seinen published in a shounen magazine, just like Death Note.

and Hunter X Hunter.

Black Clover

Chainsaw Man

stop reminding me

Can you tell me why, exactly? I don't care about spoilers

Basically, the author got burned out during TG:re about 70 chapters in. So the story takes wild and stupid turns, lots of plot points are left unanswered, and so much other shit I'm too tired to recall or type intelligibly.
Basically, part one of the manga (the original 14 volumes) is great, and part 2 (TG:re) becomes more and more nonsensical from chapter 70 until the ending.
The last threads of :re were something, to say the least.

The Kaede twist in Assassination Classroom was bullshit, and I knew it was bullshit...but it was still really fun.

>jumped the shark
I have yet to see a single one of you retards elaborate on why you think SnK is like this.

Only that the series became infinitely more interesting later on, when it stopped being just a zombie story with kaijus.

I was expecting the Titans to be the greatest of a batshit insane deity that likes tormenting humans and I was right. Titans are the creations of an entity called the Devil of all Earth.

yikes!

I actually kind of liked Last Order but I feel like we may have gone off track a bit at some point.

To give them my most charitable take...

I assume they liked SNK for the high action, high stakes, death everywhere battles for survival against monsters. So when Titan Shifters and the other parts of the world get introduced and the enemies became human and humanity's tendency for cruelty, they lose interest.

My real take: They are Brainlets

Fine opinion to have, but how could you make a story like this not be boring or repetitive after a point? Wouldn't the stakes get meaningless after every "fight to the last breath, SUSUME!" battle? I felt it was already getting old just prior to the Basement.

>Fine opinion to have, but how could you make a story like this not be boring or repetitive after a point?

End it before it wears out it's welcome. Also that's the writers job to figure out.

Alright, true enough I suppose. If SNK went that route, It'd probably have ended a few years ago. I guess for me I prefer where the story of current SNK took our characters. No way would Eren have developed as much in that old type of story.

>ITT: series that you can insult to bait and get (you)'s

Furuta's run as main villain did it for me, the story peaked during the cochlea raid.
Still enjoyed it quite a bit.

And that's a good thing!

am i brainlet for not understanding this anime at all?

What don't you understand?

I think so yes.
Must suck.

erens father is trying to make their people titans because they all have titan blood but need all 9 titans?

is the island a containment where the leader lied to them about being outside life?

how are titans made, how do they get to the island, why arethey at the island?

Yeesh it's worse than I thought.

The virgin nugget kaneki VS the chad beheaded eren

I can't wait for this shitty manga and anime to end so that people would stop talking about it.

Enjoy the next two years then.

Frankly I'm just sick of googling "SNK" and getting it when I just want to find actual SNK shit.

Watch a summary video

I liked it up until it became a meat mecha show.

Are you kidding me, man?
Humans uniting and fighting a superior non-human force is so damn popular it is divided into multiple genres
Namely:
Zombie apocalypse
Alien invasion
Demon Apocalypse
Robot invasion
Heck, even Dystopia and post-apo genres can easily fall under this category because the villains are not treated as humans but considers themselves as gods

And most of those are shit, good thing it didnt go that way.

>Fascism BAD

And all of them suck when they go further than 3 hours

Fuck you, cunts
Godzilla is a monster apo and I would cut you the both of you should you say that it suck
Heck, God would curse anyone who says that the highly accurate virus-apocalypse Contagion is bad

A good deal of those default to "humanity is the real monster" in the third act.

Yes but they don't default to henshin a go go

Did you skip season 3?

well, it has failed in all cases so far

If it's nonsensical human cruelty, like in Tokyo Ghoul and Shiel Hero where non-humans are oppressed, sure
But if the cruelties are a necessity that they themselves to do not really want, like in Shinsekai Yori and I am Legend alt ending, that would be nice

Attack on Titan didn't get "good" until it jumped the shark.
