is it OK to relate to Pun Pun or is that just pathetic?
Is it OK to relate to Pun Pun or is that just pathetic?
It doesn't matter. You're already pathetic.
we both use Yea Forums so we're both pathetic
to relate to punpun you have to be just a "depressed" normalfag, which is pathetic and even worse than being an actual loser
what do you mean by "depressed normalfag"? there are loads of depressive people on Yea Forums
pun pun actually had sex tho
Anyone who says they couldn't relate to punpun is a liar
If you haven't finished it yet run away while you still can. I was the same as you at one point and one of the retards on here spoiled the ending for me and I can't finish it now.
He was "raped".
Yes Punpun is an idiot
you mean the part where aiko hangs herself?
It's the kind of masturbatory "I'm damaged" fest that teenagers laud Eva for because they can relate to Shinji. It's grating because it never offers any real solutions if you hit a rut, just continue to wallow in misery because why not. it's juvenile and lacking in actual substance but people will give it praise anyway.
Did you grow up in divorced family with chronically ill mom?
Do you have schizo imaginary friend experiences?
Do you have druggie/cult/alcoholic friends?
Did you kill a person you love?
Or you just feeling sad ahbloo bloo because you're bored?
You're not supposed to relate to punpun because he's a genuinely bad person, brainlet.
he didnĀ“t had sex with Aiko ?? i think with the glasses girl too but im not sure
>Did you kill a person you love?
He didn't kill anybody he loved tho
Nah I wouldn't really agree to that
It is pathetic if you think is cool and actually mention it on irl.
Its ok if you understand how flawed punpun is and try to fix those things in you that you relate to him.
Same thing happens with the horseman show.
>He was "raped".
Best kind of sex.
Both at the same time you retard.
Except they're fundamentally different, because Eva's point is how it's narrative explores the very reasonable responses of a neglected child that's thrown into unreasonable situations, whereas Punpun is just suffering porn without justification, reveling in showing misery and how wretched it's character is and how you're expected to feel bad about it.
yes
no
yes
basically
yes
you relate to whoever you feel
Punpun is not a good person. The mangaka said so himself. But with the amount of tragedy Punpun and the other characters experience it is normal for user's to feel emotionally elevated introspection. When we read stories we are not apart of the world and see a different world than you and I experiencing our lives. Punpun had a lot of bad things happen to him while making many read mistakes along the way, and in the end, he was just a person with a simple life he had to live. It's OK to see a relatable character laid out in detail like Punpun. Punpun and his friend's stories mattered to me anyway. You probably shouldn't let Yea Forums tell you how to feel. If it's relatable, it's all yours.
>The mangaka said so himself
not an argument. Is he JK Rowling or something?
its not, BUTTTTTTT But with the amount of tragedy Punpun and the other characters exp......
it's your fault for not making that clear
I can't relate to Pun Pun. He has had sex in the manga multiple times.
ok
If you can't then you shouldn't be on this site.
>suffering porn without justification
It's almost like....People in real life....don't have grand narrative for why they suffer. Almost like some people are born into shit lives that they have to learn to live with or kill themselves which is why male suicide is so high. It's almost like that's the point and you missed it. An anime having real themes and literary merit instead of just reexamining old tropes with an ounce of awareness. Whoa scary.
You should stick to isekai pal.
the mangaka's a contradictory twat. They made an entire arc about how Punpun views himself (trash) is entirely incompatible with how those around him see him (a good friend, a genuine and thoughtful person).
This is what all of Punpun's friends tell the gf when she goes on her hunt to find Punpun, and it's meant to bring home the point that you as a person are how others perceive you, and people appreciated him far more than he could ever hope for.
It's frustrating to listen to Asano talk about the manga because it's like they don't even get what makes it good or work. I wouldn't call Punpun a great person, but to suggest that he's "bad" is pretty reductive for a such a detailed character. Mentally ill yeah sure, but just plain not good is a dumb way to put it
You know, the manga goes out of it's way to show there's no such thing as "bad" and "good" people. How you can speed read so fast you miss out on even that is astounding.
>he didn't watch EoE
alright
