I expect the animation to be lacking in their shorts, but I don't like it when it pops up in the normal length series.
KLK had a bunch of "cardboard cutouts moving"-esque animation. It bothers me how they didn't even animate Ryuuko/Satsuki walking in OP2, just had them gliding along (for a part). If this is stylistic choice more than shortcut taking then I just am not a fan of this chosen style.

That's an estabilished Imaishi technique. PSG was full of it, and it popped up even earlier in RE Cutie Honey, Dead Leaves etc.

I see no issue with this. In fact it's based. I can watch their shows for free so I don't have to give money to crunchyroll and similarly gay platforms and can still support the creators of shows I like.

Well, stylistic choice, then. It's not my preference.
I didn't make it more than 2 eps into PSG because I didn't like how it looked.
I do need to try Dead Leaves though.
