I heard the reason whenever anime/manga make a very obvious reference to another series, like say Lupin or Golgo 13, they often bleep or blur the names out or put stuff over the eyes because even while it's an obvious reference or gag, there are absolutely no or very weak parody protection laws in Japan. Like that's the reason there's stuff like that one episode of Osomatsu-san that had to be removed and replaced because it had so many references to other anime series like Sailor Moon, Attack on Titan, etc.

The visuals and audio were great, but the plot and characters were a mash of the most overused generic tropes. Literally everything was already done thousands times before by much better anime.
