Im in the camp that Kokou and Sunbro were brothers, but Kokou lived in his brother's shadow for too long and took the demon power to even the odds. Even then he was only able to fight his brother to a stand still and then fled. Sunbro then became depressed and started teaching random coal sellers how to breathe.

Why do we care about dub? It's not like we will ever watch it.

The dub has to get somewhat popular first, plenty of anime are getting dubbed since Crunchyroll opened the floodgates and Funimation started to speed dubbing everything in sight, all of that didn't really increase the amount of threads around here with people praising or demanding dubs, it still is the minority.

I recently started reading the manga and caught up to the latest chapter the other day. How long is this series meant to be? I feel like it's reaching the end at break neck speed and I wish there had been some bigger breathing room in between the Upper Moon and other big demon fights.

There's no actual confirmation on anything, some people just believe it is ending because the supposed big villains are getting killed rather quickly, but that argument can be shot down by following examples of classic battle shounen that got popular and renewed its roster of villains several times to keep it running.

Arguments pro-ending.
- Upper Moons who were touted as Pillar killers are now getting killed in succession.
- The main characters are close to reaching Pillar power levels.
- The supposed final villain himself wants to end this battle by going on the full offensive.

Arguments against it ending.
- The series has gotten a helping hand from Jump's editorial and it seems to be working, its popularity has been steady in Japan.
- There's no actual hard news saying anything about the series ending.
- Despite Tanjiro getting several power ups in such short notice, he still couldn't beat Akaza one-on-one, he couldn't possibly face Muzan as of now.
- Nezuko isn't even part of this arc anymore.

All Muzan has to do is escape somehow. Even if all of his upper moons are killed he can always make more.

That's the weird thing about this manga. Other authors try to stretch out their stories as much as possible, while Kimetsu is always in rushed mode. The characters are great, but they don'y have enough time to interact outside of fights. Kanao's past is told in an omake, and Inosuke's is revealed in a fight. Normally you would expect an arc for each character.
I don't understand why her editor is OK with this. I'm under the impression that they always try to make authors pad out the story, not rushing it.
This arc might not be the last one but I think the manga will last around 25 volumes. Could be a good thing though,. Most series decline around this point.

Im still expecting for Tanjirou to die in this arc then We will get a Kimetsu no Yaiba: part 2 that would be placed a few years after the first part and we will see the rest of the boys as the new Pillars.

The entire remaining corps are guarding her though, and considering the Upper Moons are fighting Tanjiro and whoever came with him, he does have grounds to believe Muzan's greatest forces are busy with him other than having time to capture Nezuko.

That is pretty much a given, people could just argue if that's a mid-series development or the final one.

Despite the many tragedies the series has amounted I don't see Tanjiro ever dying, Kimetsu no Yaiba remains very optmistic despite its grittyness, pretty much like Fullmetal Alchemist was, the series was serious but remained optmistic to the very end and very little sacrifices were made at the end of the day with its ultra happy ending.

Those remaining demon hunters are spider arc tier so the only ones who can make a good defense are Rengokus father, Urokodaki, Uzui and Kagaya

Dad Rengoku and Urokodaki should be more than enough though.

I would argue that the hunters that were doing the rock pillar training are way stronger than the spider arc hunters

tanjirou is too kind to want to compete with other people, he just wants to cheer people on rather than wanting to be stronger than them

Tanjirou's personality makes it hard for him to have a rival in a typical way. He seems to be happy just doing his best and focusing on his goals. He is still pissed at Wind though, however he isn't very dramatic about it.

I think you may have skipped at 70% of the battles so far; Nezuko was always a battle partner, that only changed now due Muzan wanting to eat Nezuko.

I'm usually not a fan of the bullheaded and brash character types but Inosuke managed to make me find him endearing and won me over completely. As for Zenitsu, I'm also not a fan of the whiny coward/crybaby types either and I find him annoying. He's gotten better in the last handful of chapters featuring him but I still can't really bring myself to like him yet. I'm a bit disappointed Shinobu died but not surprised seeing as how quickly Rengoku went out. I enjoyed her death and later on her payback, though. Snake is the most interesting to me at the moment. I want to see his backstory and more of his Breath.

Tamayo especulates that Nezuko made a concious effort to try and surpress her basic demon nature, try to eat humans, by regressing her mind to that of a simple infant. Urokodaki's spell only made that will be surpressed more.

She's still fighting her demonic urge so it must have messed with her brain.

Everything he inherited has nothing to do with bloodline (both the dance and the earrings are things that could be passed on to anyone) even that flashback he had after the UM6 battle was meant to shown how his family met the sunbro, but nothing more than that. Maybe sunbro teached the dance and passed the earrings to his ancestor during that flashback.

There's the issue with Nezuko's Blood Art though, I doubt Tanjuuro was teaching her how breathe properly or was thinking of passing down the Dance of the Fire God to her, yet her Blood Art is conviniently fire themed.

I think the anime would need to sell quite a lot of BDs and DVDs for that, ufotable's services aren't cheap. Before Fate became a powerhouse that just keeps banking more animation from them, ufotable wasn't even known for working too much on the same franchise besides Tales Of.

UM1 may had master the sword technique but can't use it at full power while Tanjirou family learn the breath technique but don't have the sword skill. It like a Wuxia novel where no one could learn the ultimate martial art since they only learn one part of it.

Now that I caught up someone give me a quick rundown on these threads

I know you're stupid but "the pace being the same as always" doesn't accurately depict what has happened. Early rushing was done to skip past introductory stuff that would normally be prolonged in a manga. Now, the series is rushing to resolve everything and end. It's very different. As "rushed" as early stuff is, it still took 40 chapters to meet the pillars and over 100 to see plenty of them do something. It still took over 140 chapters to finally give a fight to the main characters established in the beginning. The manga went from rushing to get our hero facing top-tier villains to rushing past him ever struggling and making him a top-tier invincible fighter and all his top-tier enemies random fodder. The rush to Gyu is the exact opposite of the rush to eliminate every other Upper Moon. Before, the manga was rushing to show us just who exactly is so so powerful that it has kept these organizations at war for hundreds of years but now it's rushing to show us that it could have ended at any time and the demons never had a real advantage. No matter how rushed you think the manga is, even a retard like you can acknowledge arcs used to only eliminate one top-tier demon at a time and it was a huge struggle whereas now they just plow through them like they were random side-characters.

Here's how UM1 battle goes down:
UM1 tries to take Mist away, Rock comes over and holds him for a while, Wind charges into the battle and dies as Genya comes to see it happen.
Genya goes berserk and with Rock's help, he eats part of UM1 and turns beast mode.
Meanwhile a bleeding Mist gets flashbacks and somehow learns both Breath of the Moon and see-through world.
Rock gets a fatal wound, Genya starts to wear off the UM1 blood and Mist strikes a killing blow.

Mist is going to be turned into a demon but he will have some kind of special gimmick due to being a descendant of a BoTS user. Screencap this.

In a team battle, although the pillars might arguably have the better team play, the moons have a great advantage with their aoe attacks and negligible effects with friendly fire. Pillars instead are more focused towards one target attacks.
Since pillars can die from their wounds but moons only from being decapitated, and considering the high chances of being interrupted mid-brawl I think the pillars would get slaughtered.
If it was a bigger stage than maybe by dividing the moons they might just have a chance at killing several moons, but I think they'd still lose in the end because of endurance issues.

I'm 99% positive that Himejima isn't going down as easily as Tokitou did and will actually challenge Kokushibou

Are there people who think Tanjirou is related to sunbro? Cause that one chapter with the memories clearly shows that his ancestor met sunbro, and implied that sunbro passed his techniques down to his ancestors despite not being related by blood. Tokitou is the one that's actually related though.
