kids don’t skate anymore. college kids just skate to classes and back on their long boards. there will always be a skater clique but it’s pretty small in my town and we have a nice skate park. there was a little revival a few years ago in like 2012 - 2014 when lil wayne and a bunch of other rappers thought skating was still cool.

It was popular way before then. It's less that Tony hawk made it a fad, and more that people aren't skateboarding as much for some reason.
