It's pretty clear by the end that Ataru's and Lum's relationship is a thing, but they don't get to marry on screen or anything like that. I actually prefer the filler tv ending to the canon manga/movie ending since at least in the final tv episode you get a kiss.

I got into the show mostly for her, was not disappointed. I stopped watching about 40 episodes in though, just kind of lost interest even though I already knew it was mostly episodic stuff. Maybe someday I'll pick it up again. I will say, it's rare to find a show that makes viewers alternate between hating and loving both the protagonist and the main girl as frequently as this one.

There's been a full translation of UY for ages, it was one of the first manga to be translated into English infact.
