NVM DIDN'T DIE LOL

so in the end, was he just filler?

I'm honestly glad he didn't, shit was heart-breaking enough

If asuka got her arm back after leaving the tang, maybe toji will get his leg back

Why did he and Kaworu get completely swept under the rug while Misato and Kaji got fleshed out completely in later episodes?

>filler
This word needs to die off.

That was the original idea, but Anno had promised he wouldn't kill the kids (then he did a 180 on that near the end and drove advertisers mad).

I like Sadamoto's manga version better here. You see a bit more about his motivations for doing it then he actually fucking dies.

Kaworu was meant to be a single episode thing.
Kaji was one of Shinjis friend, but never a main character.

How mad would people be if they just made a Re-take movie instead of 4.0.

that would be so fucking ridiculous that i wouldn't even be mad

Wait, he was an angel? I thought he just flipped out.

The "subject: 13 angel" is the Eva.
The camera is looking at its entry plug, and Toji was there

>Gets his pilot spot taken by OC Mari
>Gets his Eva-03 experience taken by Asuka, who instead of being crippled just gets angel super-powers out of the deal
>His sister is a more important character now
Sucks being Toji in the Rebuilds.

Remind me why people like retake? Even as an Asukafag it just feels too OOC

It was a long doujin with a plot and decent art, and its just a bit older than Rebuild.

yeah, the ambition and a few parts that are evocative make people give it a pass for some really wonky storytelling and poor characterization.

the soundtrack is pretty good though

Minus a couple of limbs, he's fine.
In the manga, however...

>decent art

I said decent, not original.
And referring to the non-mech stuff.

Cope. If Sadamoto knew that this guy made money off of his art he'd literally be sued.

he lost an arm too

I kinda thought that, but look at OP, he still has his left arm (the one that you cant see in the bed scene)

It always bugged me how they just forgot about him but then again he just gets tanged with the rest of humanity a few months later anyhow.

I cried when that scene happened in the manga.

someone post the page of him telling Shinji how scared he felt shortly before going off to be a pilot

>fourth child
>4 is death in japanese superstition
>dies immediately

what did they mean by this?

Shut the fuck up Mista

It could have been amputated after

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This never would have happened if Kensuke was the 4th
