for every "cool" thing in part 3 you had an infinite amount of toilet humor and slow progression. part 5 suffers from this as well but I think part 5 is more decent because the quality of the battles (in the manga, i havent watched the anime) were vastly superior to part 3 and the powers were much better written. granted i haven't really watched the anime adaptations because i read the manga way back before there was an adaptation but part 3 manga wise was shit compared to every other part save for 6 which im still buttmad about because araki wrote out the best characters like hermes and foo fighters for absolutely shit characters like weather report and anasui

Is diavolo intangible during his erased time? I understand how his power works and that he can't interact with the things in erased time but does he actively need to avoid any attacks or can he just stand in the spot that a bullet would hit him without it actually hitting him. Diavolo's power makes sense its just the small details that trip people up

Giorno went from being a cocky bitch to an actual leader by going out of his way to fuck himself up to earn the trust of his teammates and inspire them, Narancia went from a tempermental kid who was entirely dependent on being ordered around to growing with his own ambition after choosing to side by Bruno till the end to protect Trish, Trish went from a powerless prissy bitch into a girl her dad would've been proud of if he wasn't a faggot schizo.
Fugo learnt to use his IQ to fuck off and survive, Mista was Mista. Abba actually got a pretty good amount even if it was more on the subtle side by putting aside his self-deprecation to serve his group till the very end, him actually giving some acceptance to Gio in the end by holding onto that piece of the face-recreation so Gio could use his Stand on it to lead the group to it was a really nice touch.

The recaps don't take up episode count at all so they were most likely just done to polish the remaining eps in the series. Yeah, I have to agree with this. Outside of "The G in Guts", I don't recall any other episode having much QUALITY at all.
Although when it comes to the way Part 5 was adapted, last week's episode is the odd one of the bunch because they skipped certain scenes and picked some really bad angles for others. It also really shows how few animated scenes there are, there's so much standing around or zoomed out shots of the characters running. The finale of part 5 is mediocre as fuck, they could have at least concentrated their assets into it and animated it as best as possible. There's still three episodes left so I'm hoping those are better.

The actual directorial decisions in the start of the series compared to now are so drastic in intent and passion on an average watch-through that it's kinda jarring if you were to go from one end straight to the other.

Honestly I'm pretty happy with the final arc so far. It's far more enjoyable for me than it was in the manga, Narancia's death scene ep in particular was top notch, I can't stress enough how much DP improved those chapters thanks to their additions and the top-notch OST and voice acting. This week's ep felt a little odd but I think they nailed the atmosphere, I forgot about how fucking weird the transforming shit was and that wasn't toned down at all in the anime thankfully. I have high hopes for tomorrow's ep though, my biggest hope is that we'll get a second variation of the OP with Requiem countering Diavolo. Shit would be complete and utter kino.
that said I hope DP stick to airing the series on a later timeslot like this, part 5 has been great and the lack of censoring is top stuff. I remember just how great it was seeing that they didn't tone down the brutality of Metallica one bit and made it even more gruesome in some scenes.

What a retarded thing to say, the entirety of part 5 has been filled with passion. Everything from the little additions to the new scenes and extended shit like the dance being turned from 4 panels into a full minute long dance sequence goes completely against that thought. If anything part 5 feels like it has the most passion put into it out of every part, the anime's been so good it's actively improved on the manga and made its own iconic shit. I'll never forget how hype the cliffhanger was for the Soft Machine first ep, that was pure kino.

In what ways? The directorial decisions have been pretty top-notch, none of the previous parts have benefited from being adapted like part 5 has, all the additional stuff added shows genuine love and care for the series. Shit like Squadra getting so much more extra foreshadowing and development as well as chars like Cio actually getting an animated backstory/Fugo not just fucking off for the rest of the part show so much more love for this part. How people think DP are actually burnt out when this adaptation has the most amount of improvements over the source material boggles my mind

Excellent pick, the atmosphere is god tier in that scene, and you feel it even more because the episode has no ED.

I doubt DP hated part 4, why would they? The QUALITY was clearly just a result of the working conditions. Part 4 had a fuck ton of love put into it, the entire extended epilogue and the UNITS version of Great Days are some of the most soulful additions to the series.

also, best cliffhanger for me is still Gio using himself as bait to get Abbacchio to use his Stand. The fucking timing and music of it was fantastic and it made a fight as meh-tier as Soft Machine become great-tier.

Honestly? I liked Clash/Talking Head way more in the anime. I think the anime really improved it with the pacing, the cat-and-mouse chase feel to it that was in the Little Feet fight really made a lot of the fight genuinely tense, plus the music was great and the extra scenes, even if they were just flat-out gay, made Squallo and Tiziano a lot more memorable. Fully agree though, B.I.G. and Little Feet became so much better to me thanks to the anime. Especially Little Feet, fuck me what a good 3 eps those were

The amount of raw love that can be felt from how they announced this part with this PV was enough to make me sure that they were going to do VA justice. and imo they've not only done that but succeeded in making it the best adaptation yet. It feels like they've learnt so much from their previous adaptations and haven't skimped out at all on delivering part 5 in the best way they could. I'd really have to nitpick to come up with negatives for the adaptation, but to me it feels like a huge labor of love.
My only wish is that part 6 receives similar treatment. I'm sick and tired of all discussion surrounding the part being negative since I think it's genuinely underrated, hopefully the adaptation wins more people over.
Parts 1-4 suffered from this but part 5 hasn't. And to be fair pretty much all shows nowadays suffer from that sort of bad scheduling, at least the adaptation is still miles ahead of others. Look at OPM's second season for example, imagine how the series would've turned out if it was handled by fucking J.C.

Parts 1 and 2 are still fun to watch. Past that, besides the hype towards the end of Part 3, the other parts are just a slog to get through. They're not as exciting for some reason. It's obvious david doesn't give a shit in putting effort into animating the parts anymore. Parts 1 and 2 had creativity, and now that they're obligated to churn out parts because of popularity, they just stick to the most boring directorial decisions. No cool camera angles, shitty close-ups or zoom outs. There's no style to the animation or direction anymore.

Watch Bad Company, The Lock, Let's Go Eat Italian, RHCP 2, Rohan 1/2, Ratt, the ghost-alley ep with Kira's introduction, Cinderella, Sheer Heart Attack 2, July 5th 3, BTD 1/2, CDIU 2 and the last episode of part 4. All these episodes have some outstanding direction and animation, far better than what we've seen from part 1 and 2. Part 1 and 2 were far more amateur and it shows from so many cost-cutting measures by the overusage of stills and the abhorrent art before the BD's fixed everything up. At least pretend you know what you're talking about before you make up bullshit. I can list part 5's top-tier episodes too if you want.

Like I don't understand how EoH's story ended up the way it did. That would only be like two and a half chapters.

IMO it'd make the most sense to end the whole Diavolo fight in this coming ep, there's just not really any good spot to end the episode at since the whole GER arc is only around 5 chapters long. Better to just lengthen out Sleeping Slaves and the epilogue rather than make people wait 3 weeks just for the last chapter or so of GER THEN moving on to Slaves/Epilogue
