What is there to discuss beyond how the author has failed to utilize Yoru? So far she has only served to be a Japanese self insert for female readers. I hope the author isn't cursing themselves for making Yoru an Assassin instead of an enemy spy, because I can't imagine incorporating killing in a lighthearted series like this can be easy. Twilight kills when necessary and he has a goal, Yoru apparently fulfilled her goal of supporting her brother long ago, so what the fuck would she kill for now?

Yeah, her goal with her brother has little to do with the main story. That makes it hard to utilize her properly and she comes across as disconnected from the main plot. Twilight has his mission which he's accomplishing through Anya. Yoru is on the sidelines, somewhat disconnected from all this. That's the weak point of the story, I guess.

It would have been much better if her goal was to get to the same target Twilight is aiming for. That would involve her much more with the story.

That's because her goal was accomplished the same chapter she was introduced. Hook up with someone so her brother wouldn't worry and can move on with his life. But yeah, the hitman part of her character is barely a factor in the story. It's really just there for gag purposes.

If I remember correctly, in the original one-shot, Yoru was supposed to target he same dude Twilight is aiming for. So Yoru decided to fake being married to Twilight to accomplish her mission, just as he does. This way makes much more sense.

Unfortunately, when the manga started serialization, the concept was scrapped and Yoru became irrelevant. Instead they added the stupid reason that she faked her marriage just to keep her brother from worrying about her.

It's not hate, it's understanding. All the chapters so far have either been about Twilight's job or Anya's. Yoru has yet to factor into this in a meaningful way. There's hint about how she feels as a mother thanks to the interview cunt but her job really needs to make it's way back into the main plot soon.

She's irrelevant and boring. Her mama bear moment felt really undeserved, too. Yoru is a third wheel because she isn't contributing to the story. Every new chapter where Yoru is just smiling in the background makes it increasinly obvious that the author doesn't know what the fuck to do with her. She may as well not exist and the Manga could have just been about single-dad Twilight.

I mean, that definitely sounds more exciting, but I could see why it was scrapped. The business-oriented, completing the mission at all costs type of character is like Twilight's entire personality; if Yoru had her own mission and keeps tabs on everything like Twilight does, I can see why the writer could think that the same character is written twice. It'd be great if she was more proactive (and I'm optimistic she'll be explored further), but reallyfor a comedy her repressed murder tendencies kinda works for now.

Great, the relevent characters will now be Twilight, Anya, and Yoru's brother. Yoru will only exist in reaction to the other 3. I like Yoru, but user above had a good point, her backstory as an assassin / hitman doesn't give her anything to do in a relatively light-hearted series like this one with a low body count.

Her murder skills arent the only thing she contributes to the story. Being a role model for Anya, getting closer to Twilight to pass as his wife better when socializing with other parents and getting over her own social issues, theres a lot that can be done with her in time.
