>Is Ichigo Kurosaki the worst protag in shonen?
Nope. Next question.

I blame Kubo

There are far worse. Especially those who should be more developed given the attention they have gotten. The only downfall with Ichigo is he became a mellowed out delinquent archetype with mother issues who instead laters develops a superman complex as he finds purpose in life.

His bankai was probably same attack he uses entire series just bigger. He cant do anything else.

>Is * the worst protag in shonen?
Tsuna from Reborn exists. You guys can stop making these template threads.

>Is Ichigo Kurosaki the worst protag in shonen?
ahahahahha
maybe during his time.
Not now no.

I actually like other characters having more depth and such than him. Unlike Naruto who was literally the center of their entire universe, born to only the most OP and important characters in the world and trained by the same

Deku unironically is far more interesting.

Not even as a joke or bait is that fine to post.

Tite Kubo here. I forgot to show Ichigo's power in obvious way but his true bankai is erasing the world around him into white and is actually always happening through the comic.

I would agree if there were more substance to him.

>Never see his true power.
>The extended cast has more depth than him and outshines him in every way.
>Only used as a deus machina to defeat the final boss of an arc.
Are you retarded?

This. Deku gets more development in the first few chapters of BnHA than Ichigo gets after the whole run of Bleach. The only reason people hate him is because he reminds them of their own insecurities.

>never see his true power

possibly one of the biggest blunders I've ever seen
his new bankai is hyped for years and he never actually uses it lmao, people should be very mad about that

>because he reminds them of their own insecurities.
Oh yeah everyone remembers non stop sucking off their bullies
Nothing more relatable.

I bet Kubo can't even decide what it is.

So what do you guys think his Bankai's power is supposed to be considering that:

>It was a legit threat to Yhwach's Almighty
>Its base ability was firing off reiatsu
>Has both Shnigami and Quincy properties

>all these headcanonfags thinking Ichigo has some new ability just because

I mean, you clearly got a some bully insecurities

>It was a legit threat to Yhwach's Almighty
Probably something concerning fate. Maybe it makes him govern his own path and nullifies The Almighty.

>Yhwach's Almighty: "I can see and control your future!"
>Ichigo's true Bankai: "I don't want that future!"
>Almighty gets bitchslapped away.

Because I got issues with a character who has literally no backbone?
If I had bully insecurities I would hate bully now would I? But I agree with his bully that he should kill himself.

This. It was obviously a bigger Getsuga Tenshou.

Problem with Ichigo is he had a good character with an interesting personality, backstory, and relationship with his family and friends. I say had because it became increasingly irrelevant after the SS arc, to the point where it seemed at times like he was an entirely different character instead of the good hearted hard headed delinquent people got used to and picked up the series because of. Sure Bleach had great side characters but it was the chemistry and contrast between the protagonist's that made early Bleach so great.

>Never see his true power.
Could've sworn we saw his 'true power' on like ten different occasions

Nah, you don't have to hate the bully. In your case you hate the character who doesn't hate the bully, because he's too focused on respecting the good qualities in said bully. You think that means he's got no backbone where actually he just got his priorities in order: some guy being mean but harmless is not as important as an oportunityto learn from him. And you think that the most important thing here is the bully being mean to Deku. Because you don't like when people are mean to you and you're not able to tolerate it. And you hate the character who doesn't care about it.

>SS GOOD
>AFTER SS BAD
Ichigo had those traits you listed throughout the whole series

Those are a lot of wrong assumptions

Deku isn't enlightened and making the conscious decision not to care like you suggest
that I could respect
He is just a literal cuckold

>The only reason people hate him is because he reminds them of their own insecurities
I thought it was because he being established as tactical, strategic, know your enemy before you fight them kind of MC only for Hori to throw all that out once he gets OFA

Attached: 8336e579ccaefc2ca1d86519c47c93ef8cbd6242_00.jpg (391x452, 36K)

The only ones who like Deku are self-inserting betas.

Not that user but I also hate Bakugo, fucking mary sue, everyone bends over backwards to accommodate him.

No insecurities from me, I was bullied at one point, but I stopped it by kicking their ass.
I hate Deku because he is a bitch.

Can't really blame Bakugo for that
its everyone else and Horikoshi writing it who are the problem

You just described ever shonen ever

>he thinks BLEACH is about Ichigo.
When were you under the assumption that BLEACH was about Ichigo?

Probably for the best.
Unless his final bankai was literally the moon it could never have lived up to the hype.

Because his hair looks like he used BLEACH.

I actually liked the idea of Ichigo just kinda being there while all this crazy shit is going down because he is a megamutt.

Too bad Kubo never capitalized on it.
You would think having 4 dads would give you some character.

user, there is only so much surface-skimming on BLEACH you can do before it's just not worth roasting you for.

We literally do not know what Ichigo's power is and what it does. All we have seen thus far are the pure offensive capabilities of his zanpaktou, who is asleep almost all the time. Getsuga is a family tech, speed and power come with every bankai. The novel gives a hint, but never confirms it.
All we know is that Hougyoku SK Ichigo at max potential would've solidified the balance of all souls. That and if Ichigo had awakened it, he would've won against Yhwach, but he himself would be beyond saving. When Ichigo didn't awaken it during his training at the soul king realm his chances of winning were supposed to have been none.

It works in-universe that Ichigo just kinda exists there. Ultimately the people around him are just using him for their own benefit and this never stops being true even at the end.
His mongrel heritage being nothing more than just a convenient step for actually good characters using him as a pawn to achieve their goals.
Ichigo having little agency in the world and being manipulated while in the protagonist position is a big dick move from Kubo considering most people would consider that a gamble but given Kubo spends more time on everyone but Ichigo, it works out.

I'll agree with you so far as Ichigo being used and him being the setup for other characters to play off, but ultimately none of that matters of if there isn't some reconciliation.
Ichigo's utter failure to recognize he's being used and just kinda accept it is where everything falls apart.

>Ichigo's utter failure to recognize he's being used and just kinda accept it is where everything falls apart.
I think he recognizes that just fine, he simply doesn't make a big deal out of it since they know if a line gets crossed he'll be there to fix things right. It's really almost poetic how his attitude towards the afterlife shenanigans actually does set him up to be the most fitting replacement there could be for the spirit king. Born to be king but he'd much rather be a horse.

>Born to be king but he'd much rather be a horse.

Nah biggest chad. He fought against the JEWISH GOD.

Kinky

Sasuga Satan.

I fear this may be the case.

>Pasta about Ichigo hero complex biting him in the ass hueco mundo best Bleach arc but TYW is better but no but yes.

Cope

I have a lot of pastas. You want the Kubo's net worth one or the anime SOON?

Did I write those?

None of these things make a story bad. Getting tired of you moeshitters pretending to be shonenfags wearing the conversation down so people just stop talking about what you dont like.
You're so bad at this.
Your agenda is obvious.
Fuck yourself to death with a bullet, tranny.

People often forget that one which is odd for a manga that ran so long, but when you're right you're right

Cope

No or you post with no trip?

Sorry dude, LoN got here and, you see, it's not you it's me.

I don't see it that way at all.
Look you can make all these nice analogy for why Ichigo chose to not have any hard feelings about it, which is fine but he is almost not in the last arc.

>he is almost not in the last arc
He has the most screen time of any character in the last arc

You fucking what
No way this is true.

Yeah, some IR made a chart to prove Rukia had more screen time than Orihime. She didnt, and Ichigo came first

>extended cast has more depth than him?
Stop speedreading

>Deku
>Not best

>Hones his body enough so that he can use One For All, still not enough
>Whenever he uses it, he destroys his own body to the point of crippling himself
>He learns how to use it anyways and adapts to his own limitations

>Retards still think that he didn't earn his power and that 7 quirks is completely character-ruining despite the fact that All for One, who created One For All, has dozens

Clearly it's impossible for someone to have more than one quirk

Obviously it has the ability to fire Getsuga Tenshous into the future.

MIRAI NO GETSUGA TENSHOU!

How did Yhwach lose again? I don't get it. Almighty lets him see and control the future. The arrow shouldn't have hit him in the first place to nullify his powers.

Uryuu´s Antithesis counters Yhwach´s Almighty

Antithesis can negate Yhwach's precognition?

I like Naruto "sticking to your ideals, positivity, and hard work can help you overcome almost any ob- lol actually ninja jesus lol" Uzumaki better.

You think he's bad cuz he's a Chad so you can't self insert

Aizen sama

Not impossible, just stupid. Deku was guaranteed to be the strongest hero when he was given OfA with just Stockpiling. Now that the author decided that wasn't enough and he needs 6 more amped-up super powers things are getting ridiculous.

Aizen Sama!

He is hot desu. It's quite sad how most modern Jump MCs go for the Naruto/Tsuna look.

H wrote himself into a corner by making the big-bad so powerful. Luckily he's smart enough to turn the main conflict into a philosophical one.

If anything this just reaffirm my believes.
I can only really see him as a static entity in the grand scheme of things.
While that is intended as a overall drive for his character development i don't think it's handled well.

Ironically just like his powers i think he is mostly wasted potential and that Kubo sold him short by not giving him a clear role to play besides being the guy that "cleans up" after everyone without asking why.

yup, shirou is

Nah it clearly fires one into the past present and future at the same time

AfO wasn't that powerful really. All Might beat him twice pretty badly both times they fought.
Deku being All Might but significantly faster and stronger is enough to deal with even a powered up AfO. Adding in all the extra powers to Deku's arsenal is going to far.
If the author wasn't confident in being able to keep fights interesting with the powers he gave the characters, he should have worked on his choreography and creativity rather than add in new abilities.

Is Bleach worth reading? Only shonen I've really been into are One Piece and Jojo

Art wise it is top tier, story wise it goes from good to terrible over its run.

Why don't you read it instead of asking people. If you want my opinion yes though i would watch the anime in dub because the dub is superior and the godlike ost.

Yes.

You are both wrong.
It was clearly gonna be an 360° 8 dimensional Getsuga Tenshou that was gonna envelope the entire universe in a halfmoon shape before panning out and seeing Is Aizen face.

Attached: 1555451288889.jpg (1280x720, 161K)

>"cleans up" after everyone without asking why.
He doesn't ask why because he doesn't need to. The "cleaning up" he does he does for his own reasons. Those being not wanting the world to end because he and his loved ones live in it

It's long as fuck I don't wanna get wrapped into a long series that sucks

99% of all characters have a single ability, Ichigo included. His power was most likely a stat boost like his old one.

If it sucks why the fuck did you ask if you should read it.

What the antithesis does is take what happens between two "targets" and reverses it. With some creative applications it can nullify the almighty
>Yhwach changes a future where he loses for one where he wins
>antithesis
>Yhwach changes a future where he wins for one where he loses

>He doesn't ask why because he doesn't need to.
Idk man, i think asking a few more questions would have helped in the final fight where he literally gives up.

And frankly it's kinda boring.

Who is then?

Asking what question to who would have helped? Ichigo knew as much about the almighty as any shinigami knew
>it's kinda boring
That sounds like a you problem

Almighty is limited to the future. The present and past have higher authority and Uryuu can swap the outcome between two targets. Tsukishima can also create entire new pasts outside of Yhwach's all possible futures. In truth it should have been a much bigger cast that would have been involved in the final fight.

Don't know, do you like this opening?

Or this one?

These openings encapsulate Bleach.

to determine whether it sucks
do you have autism

ichigo is a deconstruction of the shonen MC

I mean, a little investigation would have been nice but there wasn't really time for any of that, kinda my point.

Again the premise is fine i just don't like the execution.

>That sounds like a you problem
Sounds like a lot of people's problem.
Do ever see Ichigo mentioned as a character anyone likes on this board?
Everyone is just kinda indifferent to him.

it's because he isn't really much of a character. He doesn't really make any interesting choices, every turn he chooses to do what's expected of him. He's more like the ShujinkoForce.

Yea sure, but you can see why i don't care for him much then.

It doesn't help that Kubo just keep introducing new characters instead of build on the already existing once every arc.

Kubo started disliking him sometime in the middle of the manga

Who's the faggot from Fairy tale

That guy

Are you joking?
Tsuna is super cool

Attached: Tsuna-katekyo-hitman-reborn-18606371-788-1000.jpg (788x1000, 281K)

>a little investigation would have been nice
Ichigo literally knew everything there was available to know about the almighty before his fight. Your complain has no basis, you just choose this random hill to die on and Im very confused why.
>Sounds like a lot of people's problem.
Nice appeal to majority, but still not an argument.
>He doesn't really make any interesting choices, every turn he chooses to do what's expected of him
Weather it was to be expected or not is irrelevant. He made those choices himself

>He made those choices himself
That doesn't automatically make him a good character.

>He doesn't really make any interesting choices, every turn he chooses to do what's expected of him
That doesn´t automatically make him a not good character

The investigation thing was really just a metaphor for trying to get a little more involved in the goings on around him.

>Nice appeal to majority
Yea sure dude, nice deflect.
Im merely pointing out that most people on this board don't care for him much.
You sound asspained about it.

>Acting surprised when people don't like characters that makes no meaningful choices

Ichigo kurosaki is the crunch timers hero

Deadline is coming, bad thoughts are entering your mind. Fuck it! Pull through! Drink more energy drinks! Who cares if you shorten your life, you beat the arc boss.

>get a little more involved in the goings on around him
He is as involved as anyone could possible be, again, you have no basis.
>y-y-you mad!
>my opinion=facts!!!
Concession accepted

>my opinion=facts
No one said that, im telling you why I im disappointed he wasn't more developed.
Certified asspained.

>Brainlets need Deku to narrate means of countering his opponents rather than just displaying good situational awareness
Dude if there isn't dialogue that points out to me that he's smart how do I know he's smart?

Literally hiatusfags

>AfO wasn't that powerful really.
AfO was the strongest villain in existence.

>All Might beat him twice pretty badly both times they fought.
We have no idea what happened the first time they fought except it crippled them both. Second time he was blind and needed a life support mask.

>Deku being All Might but significantly faster and stronger is enough to deal with even a powered up AfO. Adding in all the extra powers to Deku's arsenal is going to far.
So instead of giving the villain a powerup Hori wrote himself into a corner and had to compensate by asspulling six new abilities?

AfO can take literally any power and make a number of combinations. Hori had a much more creative outlet with him without having to make Deku a dollarstore AfO. One combination doesnt work then try another one that involve matching the guy who's known for being physically strong in strength.

MHA is such a shit story.

>So instead of giving the villain a powerup Hori wrote himself into a corner and had to compensate by asspulling six new abilities?
Oh look another retard

Even peanut brained animals can have good situational awareness, it's not enough to show a character is smart. Exposition is necessary to show that a character can have complex strategies and tactics. There's a limit to show, don't tell when it comes to these kind of characters.

>supposed to be smart
>only thought about kicking 100+ chapters into the manga
deku is retarded

You are right here. We see this issue with Jotaro for most of Stardust Crusaders. We never get his thoughts on anything so he is a boring character that just seems to always do the right thing while keeping the same scowl on his face the entire time, but at the end of the part during the DIO fight we actually see his thought process and it goes far to redeeming the character.

Show should always come before tell, but some tell is needed for a story.

>>Main character.
>>Never see his true power.
>>The extended cast has more depth than him and outshines him in every way.
>>Only used as a deus machina to defeat the final boss of an arc.

Why did you literally describe Saitama?

Attached: 1513048205808.jpg (2621x1816, 1.78M)

>Deku uses the environment he's in and his two classmate's abilities to outmaneuver the thugs at USJ
>Deku takes advantage of debris left by other classmates to make up for lack of mobility during the sports festival
>Deku figures out how Stain's quirk works
>Deku uses Bakugou's equipment to catch All Might off guard
>Deku knows that Muscular's specific form of strength enhancement can be gimped and uses his own body to prevent Muscular from attacking
>Deku puts together the plan to save Bakugou
Just to be clear, this is not meant to indicate that he's a genius, but there's plenty to suggest that the character is smart just in the first chunk of the manga alone.

I'm an intellectual watch the mouth boy.

These are good examples but they're almost negated by the fact that he still punches through most of his problems. Aside from Gentle, most of his strategies fail or he hadn't planned far enough and he just goes "fuck it I'm just gonna hit harder"

How fucking long are you going to obsess over this mediocre serious, LoN? Jesus Christ dude get a life. It's been like 10+ years.

>he says after he entered this thread
