Why is finding subtitles such a hassle? Before you post some CR rip garbage, you should realise that I'm talking about SUBTITLES here, not translations.
Sure, there are places like Kitsunekko. Except half the subtitles aren't timed correctly to raws, and the other half are actually made by chinks and are filled with errors.
How is it that the best provider of subs out there is fucking Netflix? Thanks to a worldwide policy where they refuse to put anything on their service without subs, literally dozens of shows have subs for the first time in decades. What's worse, nobody has made any kind of auto-ripper for these subtitles, so you're basically stuck doing it yourself with a VPN if you want to watch anything in a timely manner, especially when it comes to airing shows.
Basically, what I'm getting at is "why the fuck do elevens hate deaf people so much?".
If you were Japanese and living in Japan, you could just turn on the subtitle function on the TV. So in answer to your question, no, Japan does not hate deaf people.

Why is it that every other country out there manages to have subtitles on their on-demand services? Why aren't subs ever put on BDs? Honestly, I doubt that most late night anime even air with subs in the first place.

The only people who watch fansubs are EOPs, if they had an easy access to the original text they could just run it through Google translate and kick up a storm about "mistranslations", real or perceived.

Not every show airs with captions. TBS/MBS, TV Tokyo, Asahi, Fuji TV channels have captions. Tokyo MX where a lot of shows air do not. Captions on kitsunekko are timed to transport streams which include commercials, raws have those trimmed. I don't think it would be hard for raw providers to extract and mux timed captions, they just don't care.
They use tuner cards for PC, DVRs enforce copy protection.

You seem like a very confused individual and I'm not sure where you're trying to direct your disdain. People are generally kind of ignorant when it comes to translation, but very few think MTL is more accurate than an actual translation. The closest you routinely get is people who flip out about burgerization or whatever when their near-nonexistent Japanese skills pick up a word they can't find translated literally in the subtitles. Still not sure who the "bottomfeeders" in your last post are. Are fansubbers bottomfeeders? I would assume the end viewer who consume other people's translations would make more sense, but they're not doing anything that releasing CCs would prove they were doing a terrible job at. And your next post seems to imply EOPs are the ignorant ones and fansubbers may or may not be doing a good job but the viewers are going to criticise them whether valid or not.

The point I'm making is that if EOPs had easy access to the original subs, i.e., if they could just right click and see the original, you'd see a lot more comparison shots posted. For translators who use these TS timings, keeping the original subtitles is literally as difficult as hitting "save" after they fix the timings, and yet none of them do it because they're terrified of being called out, and removing these subs means they have less chance of being called out.
