Now that Shueisha provided for first time ever Dr.Stone number of sold print copies, we can make a sales ranking:
Haikyu!! - 7 million (11 volumes) MHA - 7 million (11 volumes) Neverland - 6.5 million (11 volumes) Soma - 6.3 million (12 volumes) Black Clover - 3 million (11 volumes) Kimetsu - 2.5 million (11 volumes) Yuuna - 2 million (11 volumes) We Never Learn - 2 million (11 volumes) Dr.STONE - 2 million (11 volumes)
Estimate for the 2018 titles numbers when they reach 11 volumes: Jujutsu Kaisen - 3.2 million (2 million in 7 volumes) Act-age - 2.2 million (1.4 million in 6 volumes)
>Black Clover - 3 million (11 volumes) >Kimetsu - 2.5 million (11 volumes) >Yuuna - 2 million (11 volumes) >We Never Learn - 2 million (11 volumes) >Dr.STONE - 2 million (11 volumes OH NO NO NO AHAHAHAHAHAAGAHAGAHAHAHAHA
Landon Lopez
How is Act-age that strong? Anime when?
Caleb White
Shojo pandering.
Gabriel Evans
>Yuuna - 2 million (11 volumes) >We Never Learn - 2 million (11 volumes) >Dr.STONE - 2 million (11 volumes) So this is the Big 3 after all
Also, by 10 volumes, HxH had 16.8 million and OP 16.5.
Henry Carter
>Black Clover - 3 million (11 volumes) >Kimetsu - 2.5 million (11 volumes) >Dr.STONE - 2 million (11 volumes) The state of MHA killers
Grayson Martin
Based AA. I remember when people were calling it Axe-Age.
Logan Parker
Same with jujutsu. People thought Noah notes would be the one to survive early on
Aaron Watson
OHNONONONONO STONEBROS!!! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO IF THE ANIME FAILS TO PUSH MANGA SALES UP!?!? WE'LL GET THE AXE FOR SURE!
Levi Young
What can we do, these retards enjoy sales more than their own series.
Owen Foster
Not fair. Togashi was pretty famous and everything was selling well in the 90s. >190067441 Thanks to the new PUSH system
Aaron Ramirez
It's a shoujo manga.
Isaac Miller
Just stop. It's embarrassing at this point.
William Hall
No, no they didn't. People were just shitposting about the gyaru.
David Myers
based stronkchads
Aaron Mitchell
Among Jujutsu, Noah, and Ziga my money was on Noah because the initial premise sounded cool.
Chase Peterson
Shojo manga, in Shounen Jump?
John Scott
Hope it happens
Isaac Lopez
Jujutsu is style over substance, that's why it survived.
Colton Harris
>The series has always enjoyed readership outside of WSJ’s traditional base of young boys, crossing over into the female demographic thanks to the many elements it utilizes from traditional shoujo manga. >It seems as though the editorial team behind act-age have finally realized this and are finally ready to market the series as such, as new designs for the first volume revealed. otaquest.com/act-age-shoujo-cover-designs/
None of these are even on the level of a second Bleach. How the fuck is WSJ still alive?
Elijah Peterson
>How the fuck is WSJ still alive? We have no info on the digital sales. People often use them as a meme to defend their manga underperforming but it's actually confirmed that they're growing with every year.
Ayden Hill
>None of these are even on the level of a second Bleach Do people forget how Bleach was selling before it's anime boost?
Isaiah Miller
David got a push comment form Posuka after it already got axed. Imagine if this happened earlier. I wonder if it could have helped Davide survive.
Jump highest series in digital sale have sales over 10M yen.
Logan Miller
I don't know how it was selling before anime boost. How was it?
Juan Evans
Sub 500k I believe. Bleach volume sales peak in Fake Katakuri town 900k+ for 1 year.
Adrian Hall
That's supposed to be good numbers for Dr Stone, right?
James Nelson
10M yen is nothing. It's what you pay for a fancy car.
Hunter Torres
Dr.Stone got all push in the world and it sells on the level of Yuuna. Is that supposed to be good? You decide.
Lucas Ortiz
FUCK YES ONE PIECE IS KILLING IT!!!!
Mason Reed
Why is WSJ doing so badly?
Grayson Brooks
Its pulling a bleach worse than bleach.
Justin Diaz
Where is hunter x hunter?
Nathaniel Carter
user, I...
Joshua Perry
>Destroys Dr.Stone on sales >Can potentially beat both Black Clover and Kimetsu in the future >Is the only Jump manga that nobody in Yea Forums or in internet cares about
>nobody in Yea Forums or in internet cares about Cause it just another Naruto rip-off but now with demons.
Gabriel Ortiz
>Pierrot Fuck off!
Levi Russell
It's somehow more generic pandering shonen bait than black clover
Leo Young
Why are Jujutsu cucks such bitches?
Logan Gomez
That said, even though digital sales probably do equal a lot of sales, there's also just proportional sales. Shueisha and Jump in particular still dominate physical sales in manga year after year and that's not going to change any time soon even as the industry makes less of its money in physical sales. Not everything in the magazine can be the best-selling manga of the year. Something has to fill up spots 2 through 20.
Jaxson Hughes
Nips have shitty taste. The more you know.
Jack Cook
The initial chapters of Noah notes had promise. Then it devolved to garbage
Jordan Gomez
I refuse to read shit written by women, or really use anything created by women. Good thing roasties are generally useless consumers that never produce anything and merely leech off male accomplishments. I wish they'd all die and get replaced by sexbots. Useless filth they all are, they also stink something fierce.
Hudson Jackson
You live one sad life.
Jeremiah Turner
Since when did Yea Forums start hating Jujutsu?
It's actually a very nice series, with very good characters. I love Todo
Cooper Jackson
>endorsed by HeroAca author and HeroAcafags Fuck off.
Justin Russell
Fewer children in Japan, and the manchildren are starting to move on.
Nathan Hughes
What is a mh thread
Camden Powell
Mangahelpers Ie sales flavor of shitposting you know, salesposting
James Anderson
The new wave of WSJ series don't even get dump threads, Jujutsu at least has some discussion when a new chapter comes out.
Lincoln Morales
Gacha. There is limited amount of money for otakus to spend and now they are prefering to spend it on gacha and idolshit. In 90s they only had anime and manga with idols still being in infancy.
Nathaniel Torres
Onenof the characters in this cover is a shit
Jace Allen
Don't worry guys, Shonen Jump savior has arrived at last!!
>Since when did Yea Forums start hating Jujutsu? Probably when the spoiled fanbase kept bitching and complaining about how their series isn’t popular
Charles Gray
Which is like 900k USD
Ayden Murphy
The same place the chapter for this year is
Carter Turner
>bitching >implying i'm not happy As long as it's popular in the only place that matters (I.e. Japan) I couldn't care less about any western fanbases, they all devolve into shit anyway.
Asher Miller
Fun fact..Shueisha didn't actually released Dr Stone sale numbers, who really did was the autor on his twitter account
Owen Diaz
It was pretty mediocre overall. The references were novel, but the plot and characters were generic.
Coming from someone who avoided Bleach and Naruto like the plague, it's actually pretty good.
Jace Parker
Nips love it.
Jacob Moore
their weekly shonen schedule is fucking terrible and their editors are trash
Michael Gonzalez
you do realize jjk author is a man right? The female rumor was later debunked
Ayden Sanders
One Piece is keeping them alive
Wyatt Jenkins
wow Oda must be making bank
Cooper Clark
Bitch it's barely 100k.
Jason Gray
Isekai's been making a hard push at the expense of new shounen and becoming mainstream
Jason Richardson
Not as much as Nasu, Toriyama or Takahashi, but he's doing alright.
Ryan Cooper
Lol
Dylan Harris
So Is Yuna screwed or not?
Parker Carter
What's the normal/expected bump in sales once an anime starts airing? 25%? 50%? I'm honestly sort of surprised that Dr. Stone has 2/3 the sales of Black Clover without the benefit of a year and a half of airing anime.
Josiah Long
>I'm honestly sort of surprised that Dr. Stone has 2/3 the sales of Black Clover without the benefit of a year and a half of airing anime. Yeah no. This is sales number when each series reached 11 volumes, not their current total.
Landon Collins
Lack of young talented manga-ka that aren't up to par.
Joshua Garcia
What volume was the Black Clover at when the anime started?
Jordan Morris
Volume 13 was released the same time as the anime.
Andrew Jackson
Print media is dying. Same goes for Japanese population.
Charles Hernandez
What new manga lately have been stand out? Chainsaw Man is pretty universally liked Jigokuraku is good as well. SpyxFamily is also great I've heard good things about Act Age and World Trigger Any others?
Jayden Green
Samurai 8
Chase Ross
Did that get good? I dropped it after the third chapter.
Adam Rivera
>new manga >Jigokuraku Nah not that new. it's just people here don't talk about it much.
Connor King
its not as shit but its still bad
Justin Campbell
>Extremely high standards for new series that leads to most of them getting axed >Decline of print media >End of several iconic long-running series (Gintama, Naruto, Bleach)
Caleb Cox
Currently good or was good at one point. 1, Act Age 2. Chainsaw Man 3. Kimetsu no Yaiba 4. Dr. Stone 5. Haikyu 6. Hunter x Hunter 7. Jujustu Kaisen 8. My hero Academia 9. One Piece 10. Promised neverland. How can a magazine survive with 50% or more of its content being bad?
Cameron Taylor
I think it only existing for less than 6 months makes it pretty new.
Liam Gomez
Stone will probably get a good boost from the anime. Unlike Bokuben which had the misfortune of airing shortly after 5toubun took all the wind from its sails. Having a crappy studio didn't help, and i'm surprised it got a second season. The manga hasn't even received a slight boost , the DVDs aren't selling, the idol unit formed by the main heroine VAs to promote it has been ignored, and it all looks like a giant mess
The author shills bleach too. He wrote poems in school because he loves that kubo did it.
Thomas Murphy
Excuse me?
Grayson Martinez
>only existing for less than 6 months makes it pretty new no it's first published on January 22, 2018 (before AA). You think it's new because no one here mentioned it.
Justin Brown
>shilling CSM, Jigokuraku and SPYxFAMILY Yep, totally not Rin-san.
Jackson Moore
I looked it up, one guy edits all of those? Holy shit, that guy is either a fucking genius or just really fucking lucky.
You know I actually looked Jigokuraku up to make sure that it was new-ish before putting it down. And I read the date as Jan 22, 201'9' rather than 201'8'. My bad didn't even realize my mistake.
Elijah Cox
The anime is good faggot, manga sales have gone up obviously and streaming sales are more important than disk sales.
Gavin Hernandez
>World Trigger >new Believe it or not it's older than BnHA.
Why would anyone want to read WSJ when more often than not a new series is likely to be scrapped within a year or two?
Kevin Hughes
This He's probably a newfag or something.
Mason Watson
I mentioned that I only heard good things about it, never read it personally. I assumed it was newer but I got that one wrong.
Samuel Rogers
Go read it. It's one of the few good things that came out of WSJ.
Liam Moore
It's missing over two years worth of chapters due to the author's poor health. That's why it has a lot less chapters than stuff like BnHA and Black Clover.
Proof Shounen Jump needs more titles with female leads or even a larger female cast that are not harem rom-coms
Matthew Price
so with Kamio and Saiyuki confirmed to be flops, Souma spot open, and Hinomaru maybe ending soon, could we get a 3 series round soon (one spot will be used for GFC oneshots)
Austin White
maybe one spot is for hunter return but I don't think so.
Mason Foster
oh jeez NTR and age gap
Gavin Collins
maybe because of this so that happens
Grayson Barnes
Well yeah, people are waiting for them to survive at least 16 chapters.
Colton Kelly
You know Hunter x Hunter and Boruto dont use any slots right
Jordan Watson
Just read it, it's shit.
Michael Ramirez
Hunter does.
Brody Lee
>official website >it's downfall
Oliver Lopez
Kids don't interested in physical media today. Digital sales are growing.
Lincoln Foster
It depends on the adaptation. Black Clover? lmao. TPN? Close to 50% Kimetsu? More so far.
Brayden Johnson
What do you mean lmao? BC got 100k+ after the anime, it's like 60% or so.
Colton Wilson
But it's more than a year old though.
Parker Lewis
Just have a need for dragon que- I mean severe backpain
Asher Campbell
>SpyxFamily Wakuwaku.
Charles Martinez
Dr.Stone is a gag manga so no one expected big sales anyway. Still kinda low considering how good it is.
Easton Edwards
Chainsawman gets maxed out threads every week though.
Parker Howard
I like the writing but the characters design are more bland than Black Clover.
>MHA on its early day is goes toe to toe with Naruto,OP and AssClass >no one bats an eye/so deserving >Dr Stone right now goes toe to toe with Op,TpN and KnY >everybody lose thier mind
Hudson Morris
MHA 1st volume first week was bigger than the Dr.Stone current peak, 10 volumes in. Are you retarded?
Chase Sullivan
Issue #33 cover: MHA
Nathaniel Lewis
Wait a second, Oumagadoki will be 10 years old next year? Damn.
Aaron Bennett
>Haikyu!! - 7 million (11 volumes) >MHA - 7 million (11 volumes)
Herofags BTFO by fujovolley
Xavier Gonzalez
Not for long. OP has dropped something ridiculous in sales.
Michael Ortiz
Juju, Chainsaw and Jigoku are my favorite series right now. I used to like Black Clover but the Elf Namek arc made me drop it.
>Juju, Chainsaw and Jigoku Ow the Edge. Good taste desu
Andrew Clark
>*11970 361945 鬼4 KNY 4 >*11857 355629 鬼5 KNY 5 >*11511 349022 鬼6 KNY 6 >*11449 306538 鬼 KNY 15 Nice, another good week for KnY
Isaiah Mitchell
World Trigger off two years outselling BC per volume will never not be funny
Sebastian Ross
What kind of drop are we talking here?
Jonathan Baker
MHA and Soma already had an anime with those volumes, so they had more sales because of it
Blake Martin
>but the Elf Namek arc made me drop it. Why? Its literally the best arc right now.
Angel Gomez
Citations? Don't give Oriconfag's outdated statistic, give me a total or current numbers crunch.
Lincoln Rivera
An endless stream of battles with boring antagonists isn't really what I considering interesting to be honest.
Julian King
S8 gets regular threads. I've noticed that the ones that get regular threads are the ones that get early scanlations and not the ones where Viz/Mangaplus is the only option.
Dominic Diaz
Appeals hard to female and older readers since it’s quite different and the characters are a lot more mature and realistic which helps. Also Yonagi is a top tier Jump heroine.
Nicholas Wright
>AA realistic Come on now, it's more down to earth than the rest of Jump catalog but no one believes this.
Brandon Lewis
S8 gets regular threads because it's Kishimoto. CSM got regular threads right of the bat because it's Fujimoto.
Christopher Adams
Except Haikyuu since Yea Forums is allergic to sports manga. And because the pacing is pretty slow from what I've heard.
I think it also has to do with the irregular release schedule JJK and AA had from fan groups. There was an almost 3 month gap between the Viz's ch 3 for AA and Fallen Angel's release of 4-5 (early Feb to late May). JJK was releasing batches instead of by chapter for a while too. Meanwhile, Stone was picked up from the beginning (by both MS and JBox!) because of the hype of the 6 serialization round.
Honestly, I believe that if JJK was picked up by MS from the beginning with a normal release schedule, it would be more popular. Same with AA.
Isaiah Baker
Early leaker was a borutofag and he's platinum bad because it got deported. No early toc anymore.
Colton Torres
What? I thought he was a s8fag. Source on what happened to that leaker?
It's still very nice to see the various different team ups, as well as the number of developments happening on the protagonists side, such as Henry standing up for his friends, the emperor's death, Rades and his friends joining the protagonists, Fuegoleon waking up, Noelle controlling her powers, Finral waking up, Charmy's race reveal, and a lot more.
Aaron Kelly
Indeed only MHA and Haikyu had already an anime. MHA anime started when the volume 8 of the manga was released, and Haikyu with its volume 10. Soma anime started when its volume 12 was released.
Luke Evans
So not a fan of war arcs I take it?
Aaron Price
But Shueisha has like dozen of female-targeted magazines, why it should be made in wsj?
Levi Carter
Where's MHA in the toc tho
Carson Campbell
can someone post that bakuman panel talking about dragon ball?
Anthony Murphy
Dead. The author cannot draw anymore, and will take a 2 months break.
Parker Taylor
source?
Samuel Baker
>WT still doing well Nice, I'm glad the hiatus didn't slow it down.
I really hope Stone can make it to a proper finale. It's all reliant on the anime's success. Also I never fucked with sales, is 2mil really that bad? Did series get axed with that number of sales?
It's not that bad by itself, but it's kinda bad with the amount of push Dr.Stone got.
Kayden Torres
>Imagine being the chief editor that veto isekai
Owen Murphy
Vol 35 sold more than vol 2. Yay.
Daniel Ward
By comparison, it sold more than gag manga and niche shit, same as ecchi romcom, and less than everything else. The worst thing is Act Age and Jujutsu, 2 younger series, have surpassed it in sales. So yeah, Dr.Stone needs that anime boost.
>But Shueisha has like dozen of female-targeted magazines, why it should be made in wsj?
Such as?
Leo Gutierrez
This is what the story of success against all odds looks like.
Lincoln Lee
I wonder if D.Gray-man's chart looks anything like that
Parker Ramirez
This is normal. Every manga after a while begins to decrease sales, this just does not happen if the manga is short, a manga with so many volumes with Haikyuu is completely normal start to decrease sales after a while
Jack Gray
Where's the rest? I know you have them.
Wyatt Fisher
Why is Dr Stone such a target for sales posters? Why does it have axefags this late? Doesn't seem worth shitposting about.
Ryan Jones
>Takahashi What?? This cant be real. No fuckin way Oda is making less.
Adrian Thompson
It sales like shit, yet constantly stays in the top of TOC. This is the most blatant pushing by Jump in recent memories.
Levi Bell
>No fuckin way Oda is making less. Rumiko Takahashi is known as a fucking shrew businesswoman. Oda has nothing on her in that regard.
Dominic Stewart
They're upset over the fact that a series with low, stagnant sales has been listed near the top of the ToC for months. It's pretty odd to be honest.
Colton Harris
It is sad that Rumiko is too old to pull the Oujou-sama drill hairstyle
Bentley Thomas
>Black Clover - 3 million (11 volumes) >Kimetsu - 2.5 million (11 volumes)
Do you have any credible sources to back this up? Google doesnt help much. Lists Oda at around 200$ mil and Takahashi at 70. I imagine this numbers could be way off for both but still cant really bring my head around as to how the creator of something that reached pokemon and dragonball lvls of popularity is making less than Takahashi.
Isaac King
>Haikyu!! - 7 million (11 volumes) >MHA - 7 million (11 volumes) >Neverland - 6.5 million (11 volumes) Sit down and be humble Boyya
Aiden Butler
Bleach still sold 400K per volume with no anime
Eli Taylor
People user don't. It hurt too much
Owen Cook
>People Please*
Kevin Morales
Megumi is best girl, Kugisaki can take the 2nd place though, she's one of the best Jump female MCs desu.
Xavier Kelly
Also hasnt had a anime in a few years so no surprise sales are decreasing
William Cooper
>WT sold 100% of volumes
Lincoln James
user please.
Brayden Ortiz
It's definitely worth checking out. Keep in mind that the first few chapters are pretty shaky and the manga takes a bit of time to find itself.
