So, what are we in for once Akira gets erased and his key gets stolen by Ai? Half the cast of "good guys" is erased, in fact it will be only Yusaku, Soulburner and Aoi who will remain alive, and the fact that they weren't enough to prevent Ai from erasing Akira means that they'll need more help in my opinion.

It still is. That was more of a spiritual scene because the episode was about the character reconnecting with the game and his ace monster.
We saw more of his childhood and what drew him to the card right down to the effects. It's one of the purest loves for a card I've seen in a card game anime.

If you mean purely in terms of twisted faces Yami Marik > Vector > Saiou > Aporia and Paradox. If you mean in terms of being the villain, honestly it's the same but Vector and Marik are a tossup and Aporia is solidly ahead of Paradox.

They kind of did a pretty big reference in the last move of the Yugi vs Kaiba Duel, with Final Geas preventing Monster Reborn from reviving Deep-Eyes. Bonus points for Yugi giving Kaiba said Monster Reborn.

Arc-V is not worth watching. It's not. Ignore the diehards who never got over it, it's not worth watching.

arc-v and vrains don't do that full switching between "on" plot episodes and "off" filler eps so it's a lot less clear cut than previous spin offs on what's technically necessary.

Finished reading GX. I thought it was okay at best. Jadens backstory was a decent touch. I personally like Jadens manga deck over his deck in the Anime by a long shot. While the other characters decks... not so much.

The Oversea champions are lame in the Manga. Chazz is a competent rival and more plot relevant to the story. Asuka is still Asuka. Bastion is a jobber, but at least they didn't forget him like in the Anime. Cyrus is more competent from the get go.

Nothing special about the main villain of GX manga. It's literally Light of destruction 2.0.

All in all, it's a decent read.Plot could be easily summed up as a Tournament Arc.

The ZEXAL manga has great art, since it's by the same artist as the ARC-V manga, but the actual story is held back by a lot of pacing issues and random plot twists and narrative swerves that obviously weren't planned in advance.

The duel choreography is pretty good though, except for the final boss.

-I shouldn't even explain Tracer. Being a Quick Effect is one of the best decisions Konami did. 3-of.
-Recharger is trash.
-Exploder is the 1st Level 5 or higher Rokket, giving it some potential with stuff like Synchron and Twin Triangle, along with being a finisher (or draw in case you want to have the last laugh). 1-of.
-Absorouter is nuts. 3-of.
-Checksum is crap.
-Supplier is garbage.
-Trigger is great. Unsearchable, but great with Furious. 3-of (you can discard your dead copies with either Quad or Ravine).

I am really confused about Roboppy's gender. No one who watched the first two seasons could have ever doubted the robot was a she and the writters even gave her a sort of relationship with Ai but out of a sudden it looks more like a boy? I think I read somewhere that Roboppy, in their actual form, used genderless pronouns to refer to itself so, everything is confusing to me, especially adding that their color palette is too similar to the trans one (why, Japan?).
Anyways, I ain't drawing a boy without pants so if Roboppy is ever 100% sure a boy consider this sketch a genderbend, even if it means I'm breaking my own rules.

I would have gone mad if they had tied (meaning another duel with Go). Go is a really boring character as a good guy. I am really happy he is gone for good now.

I was really scared when I saw Pandor in this episode. She looked kinda ugly and I didn't realize it was just the animators doing a mediocre job. Luckily the preview had a really cute looking Pandor. I am really hyped to watch her driving AI into a corner.

The newest Vanguard season focuses more on the characters than the plot or cards so maybe that'll be more your speed.

Then I actually don't know what the issue might be. I would experiment with watching both shows(all three when Buddyfight returns) on the same day. Maybe having all the flavors of TCG anime in a single chunk of time would bore you less

I hit a similar slump too where these threads carried it, only I stopped watching for a while.
Maybe it's just a case of Vrains fatigue that can be solved by skipping an episode or two here and there while participating in the threads and learning the context ad events through them
