The only thing it did better is the Homunculi's characterization.

and the ending

And animation

2003 was subpar and you know it.
It also had the worse movie.

I liked it better but the ending sucked

take your entry level shit and leddit tier argument back where they belong

Attached: 87.png (1240x1080, 978K)

Wrong.

Sky is blue

I think it just did characterisation better in general whilst Brotherhood had better developed relationships between said characters

Brotherhood > 2003

>2003
hurrr time travel durrrr
>brotherhood
ancient long-con to become god works through worldwide subversion caused by the slave of a king

yeah which one had a better ending? like and subscribe to see me autistically comb through every opinion on the internet with no justification or critique involved just for your view-dollars. tune in next video, bros!!!!!

Manga>anime

>2003
hurr time travel durrr
>bh
hurr ancient evil take over the world

they're both shit, the only good thing about the series as a whole are the fun characters

Manga>brotherhood>manga>2003

>Manga is better than the anime
Not in this case

The former was way more interesting while the latter was generic typical anime garbage.

Should i watch 2003

Si

Do you think Rose enjoy it ?
was she thinking about Edward while it happen ?

Attached: FMA2003RoseArtwork.jpg (480x350, 38K)

*ed

Then Brotherhood

Yes.

happy ending>epic nazi shit

agreed

Ahem, Conqueror of Shamballa was pure, unadulterated kino

honestly i love melancholy depressing shit so i agree

That's where you're wrong, Ed getting reverse isekai'd then becoming Hitler is superior

I wasn't a fan of how shonen the last battle felt. It felt out of place considering the tone the rest of the series had taken

Second half was total trash.

great taste user

I get people prefering one over the other. But what's with this obvious rift of people who have not watched a single episode of 2003 who swear its the shittiest anime on earth? It's almost as if people's ego can't take the version they don't know about being perceived as good.

how do I go back to 2003 guys?
I don't like the future

Attached: best of you.jpg (480x360, 12K)

Nah, too much fanfiction shit.

first half of 2003 > first half of brotherhood

second half of brotherhood > second half of 2003

both have imperfect endings in their own way though 2003 ending is way more unsatisfactory

animation wise both are great and shamballa had some great scenes despite the mess of a plot it had

both have amazing music

both are worth watching though 2003 might have not aged very well and you may as well just watch brotherhood but for those of us that did watch 2003 back then im pretty sure we treasure it anyways

usual Yea Forumsutism

This and the Bratja theme - youtube.com/watch?v=uwzAEwzUI8k
Brotherhood has it beat in everything else except maybe best OP. Rewrite was god-tier.

Oui

Code Geass had more impact

asian kung fu gen is just way too good. not a single opening with one of their songs is less than great

I don't we get soundtracks like these anymore?
youtube.com/watch?v=yVghAQk7wJE

made in abyss got some really unique ones

This. Fuck the nazis and fuck Dante, literal shit tier villian.

No. I remember waiting for the entirety of 2003 to deliver a good fight and it never happened after Greed vs Edward. I cared for the characters and story though so I kept watching but it always felt weird that an anime with super powerful beings wasn't full of hype fights. Brotherhood delivers on that front.

Seconding that.

MiA isn't my favorite anime but I think it might have my favorite OST, all said. Even some of the background tracks are superb.

both are shit

>made in trash
gtfo leddit

Not just rewrite, I'd argue all 4 openings are some of the best in the whole anime medium. There's something about 90-2000s openings that makes them sound better, visuals too. But I feel like Undo is the best one of the 4, that
>Tooku tooku omoi hatenaku
is just too nostalgic, along with the visuals of them as kids.

but youre in the full garbage alchemist thread?

And the whole first half before it split off, felt like Brotherhood rushed through all that assuming the audience had seen it all before.

Yes, Dante will never compare to Father.

Ah yes, your argument is indisputable. I have seen the error of my ways. Thank you user.

Attached: mia.jpg (4352x3056, 1.9M)

Undo is my favorite OP of the 03 version. But counting Brotherhood best OP is Period. Period.

down voting you bitches

Attached: 1558776649279.jpg (176x286, 10K)

Stop your contrarianism. Brotherhood is better and you know it.

I never watched Brotherhood because the art looks so much worse than 2003. The lines and coloring make such a big difference.

The correct answer

1999>2011.
That's just a fact.

>correct answer
>wants me to watch shit twice

how about no?

you watched your mom take a shower twice

I did not. Luckily I also didn't watch shitmetal alchemist neither, because I'm not a filthy dubfag.

>I did not.
proofs?

Both version had it's moments

Honestly I don't get the hype for Rewrite or Undo, the visuals are amazing but when it comes to the song itself I thought Ready Steady Go was far and away the best OP.
youtu.be/nYDcadIKSUg?t=10

And the atmosphere. Brotherhood has too many of those stupid manga comic reliefs in the middle of well done serious situations.

Attached: CbbxRDc.jpg (737x1451, 182K)

Someone asked my opposite but, do I even bother with Brotherhood if I really really enjoyed 2003?

Yes, then you'll understand how stupid nostalgiafags are.

i'll try it then

As someone who ended up preferring 2003 to Brotherhood I'd say definitely still give it a shot. Its a pretty good show, just good in different ways compared to 2003. Also its got the best character between both shows in it.

Attached: BestGreed.png (1024x640, 229K)

huh but i already did that

Ah, ok.

wrong

literal shit taste

Hey, weird idea anons. What if we just agree that both are pretty good, and people should watch both if they're interested in the series?

Attached: 1560220370238.jpg (1080x614, 40K)

Brotherhood>shit>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Time travel wasn’t even part of the original did you all even watch the damn show.

So, you're saying Brotherhood is only slightly better than a shit?

2003 is better directed, and pretty good early on. The original stuff even had potential. But it was all squandered through cringey anti-Iraq War metaphor, all the new characters are uninspired, boring.

Brotherhood's not very good either, though. It ruins the entire mystery angle, boring directing, boring coloring. Most characterization is cut for no reason. Manga's the only way to go with FMA.

cringe

Yeah fuck that. Who’s says this dumbshit with GOAT characters like Pride, Wrath, and Greed?

Not that user but while I think that the idea and themes with the Homunculi are better overall in 2003, I'd say its about even in terms of their individual characterization. In 2003, I'd say Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, and Pride were better, but in Brotherhood Greed, Wrath, and Envy were better. The situation with Bradley is weird because I like him as Pride more than Brotherhood's Pride, but he's also better as Brotherhood's Wrath since he just gets to do a lot more and all his fights are oozing with sakuga. The one thing I like more with him in 2003 is that his last fight was with Mustang instead of Scar, it just feels more right to me.

The idea of the homonculi being failed transmutations is very unoriginal to be honest and a cheap plot device to connect them to the main characters especially in regards to 2003 Sloth.

what if we just agree that both are normie tier shit?

>OLD THING GOOD
Fuck off, nostalgiafag. 2003 is a fucking mess with no proper plot or endgame, plus a climax and ending so fucking retarded that I can't believe they thought doing that would be a good idea.
Dante is an awful final villain whose goal is retarded as fuck and dies like a bitch and her backstory and characterization makes Hohenheim a fucking evil faggot instead of his much more tragic and interesting portrayal in Brotherhood.
People also love to bring up the Homunculi and claim 2003 did it better but that's a fucking lie. The only Homunculus who has better characterization is Lust, the rest suck fucking balls and the idea that they are failed transmutations, while original, isn't better than them representing different aspects of Father's personality that he casted away, plus 99% of them being related to a relevant member of the cast was extremely contrived.

I thought it was more interesting than in Brotherhood where they just all came from Father. He's such a boring villain to me.

>and people should watch both
But they shouldn't.
They should watch Brotherhood to get a cohesive story that follows a clear path and leads to a satisfying ending and never touch 2003, which goes fucking nowhere through half of story and then ends in such a fucking dumb and unsatisfying way that you are left wondering why you wasted so many hours watching that shit.

Father isn't a great villain but he is a million times better than Dante.

I always say that ppl should watch first 10 episodes of 2000s before watching full brotherhood.

Attached: huh.jpg (229x250, 7K)

Watch 2003 first, then Brotherhood and read the manga last.

Dante's not a great villain either but I liked her more than Father. I preferred her motives being more petty and less grandiose, even if eternal youth is just as generic a motivation as wanting to become God. I'm not gonna die on a hill for her or anything but I liked her at least a little bit more than Father. Also her theme was amazing.
youtube.com/watch?v=VLp_wePNrZA

Her theme is nice but playing it when she was introduced was stupid as fuck.
I wouldn't have figured out she was supposed to be evil that early on if the show didn't choose to play the most ominous OST possible.

Second, but only because it came first. Anything for the second time would lose its luster.

It’s because there wasn’t a huge focus on the seiyuu being idols as well, so they actually could hire people with talent to do different things instead of everyone just being cute.

MUH BITTERSWEET ENDING

Rewrite has the best visuals but for the overall package I'd say Golden Time Lover takes it
youtube.com/watch?v=et7oxRRkPEo

>>You

Who was 2003 King Bradley supposed to be created from? He also seems cold and inhuman

You and your parents are shit.

The Fuhrer (2003) wasn’t evil before he died and was brought back as a homunculus. All of the other homunculi came back wrong, so why wouldn't the same be true of him?
