Reasonable Isekai Powers

You are now in the writing room for a new isekai series, Yea Forums.
What power can you give your loser protagonist that will enable him to stand out from the crowd and accomplish something in a fantasy world, while not being an overpowered cheat character?

power to stand out from the crowd and accomplish something

>user gets isekaid
>he thinks the God might try to trick him so he asks for automatic translation
>goes adventuring, has a little bit of difficulty because he didn't ask for something better but he was sure it was the most useful thing he could ask
>later on he meets another person from his world
>he finds out automatic translation is actually a normal skill people get when sent to this world
>even later on, he finds out his automatic translation can actually translate all the dead and lost languages people can't read anymore
>he's the only one that can read the scrolls from time past and attain great power, but first he has to get the scrolls

Can replicate up to 3 spells he sees per day. Spells reset on rest.

The ability to lie through his teeth and (usually) get away with it. I'm thinking an isekai where the MC uses his knowledge to fake being a wizard and lives the high life in the boonies until he realizes that he got isekaid into High Fantasy Europe replete with actual wizards and other nasties that wizard heroes are supposed to fight rather than just stock medieval Europe. MC must bullshit his way through increasingly dangerous/ridiculous situations or else he'll be shown to be a fraud and strung up by the villagers he's been conning.

His skill is to be slightly better than anybody he touches.

Being a fucking knight from the 13th Century wearing period-correct equipment in the middle of a high-fucking-fantasy.

>gets killed by a single fireball

>period-correct equipment in the middle of a high-fucking-fantasy.
You realize that's a contradiction, right? There is no period of high fantasy in history. I can't think of a single high fantasy series, including western lit, that doesn't tell period accuracy to take a flying leap.

>Character editor
He can go back to the character creation screen and edit his appearance/gender. If that's not flashy enough, you can spice it up by letting him change his race to gain and lose special abilities. For instance, turning elf would make him better at using magic while turning undead could stop him from taking poison damage at the cost of making him more vulnerable to holy magic. The possibilities are pretty vast and it should make for some interesting scenarios without being too cheaty.

Would a checkpoint thing work? Where you lose and lose and lose again until you figure it out also now i wanna rewatch log horizon for that raid

Command-Sight.

Our hero when moved to another world is granted the ability to see anyone who joins his 'army' at any given time with his magic eyes, and speak to them through this ability as well. Through these he can tell everyone's position, abilities and weaknesses. This allows him to move his army into positions and formations on a whim at any time across any distances, meaning the entire work is a battle of war-tactics and charisma to get more powerful warriors on his side. He can't just have a handful of champions do all the work, this is war! Every soldier must count, and only then will he be able to conquer the land that holds the portal to allow him back to his world.

In Another World During The Total War.

Give him a bunch of cheat powers but if he ever figures out he has a power he loses that specific one. Watch him suffer as he goes from god mode savior not known by anyone to crappy hobo that everyone relies on to save the day

Uncontrollable ability to manifest the worst fears of anyone or thing looking at him in the form of an extremely powerful mental attack. Due to this he can't get close to anyone. Isn't op as long as the writer sets certain rules/has sets it in intervals, etc.

I would like to see an isekai where a hard-working person just found success mere hours before dying in an accident and get reincarnated. It would sting more and make a more compelling story since the guy actually lost everything just when things started looking good for him.

This is an interesting premise. I like it.

Can you go into more detail? Better in what way?

I'm seeing this as an isekai where the MC gets no power from the reincarnating entity, and is just a liar naturally.

I should probably know who this is, but I do not.

Interesting idea. Probably hard to write consistently, but a shapeshifting MC definitely has potential.

That's basically Re:Zero, isn't it?

Could be interesting, particularly if the protagonist is a history fanatic.

I love this idea. Great comedy premise.

So, it's like a curse that activates on a specific schedule? Might be a bit difficult to work a story around, unless the focus of the story is on MC's wandering journey, and the curse is mainly used as the plot device that keeps him moving from town to town.

Black Company isekai has the guy make it big on the stock market moments before getting isekaiā€™d into a shithole.

>Interesting premise
>Decent art
>Last update is a year ago
Why must this be?

any power can easily be OP if you don't give it limiters, likewise any OP skill can be more reasonable if you do

Skill taking? make it jack of all trades it's not as powerful as the original owner and can never be. Alternatively you can do it like Kirby and only make it temporary
Modern Knowledge? make the resources difficult to acquire, make getting the resources an adventure in it of itself, make the process of making it actually dangerous like IRL
Stats? see gook shit
Legendary Weapon? It's the only way to kill the demon king, but that doesn't mean it's a good weapon (see Legend of Zelda)

I think the only thing that can't be reasonable is outright omnipotence and max level stats.

The power to eat literally anything

Why even give them a power? Just give them the same access to magic that everyone else in the world has

My top pick for "this power is bullshit and immediately killed the series" is the one where the MC has the power to instantly make anything die by willing it to be so. I don't even care if the author finds some way of challenging him in other ways, the basic premise is just such utter BS that it destroyed my interest.

Are you saying he didn't do it reasonably?

Attached: 2993535343.jpg (1440x1080, 92K)

No, see, that power had restrictions. I'm talking about an isekai WN that I read where the protagonist literally just has to want something to die, and it does.

>while not being an overpowered cheat character?
It's as if you want your shitty isekai novel to flop.

>Eat a sword with +10 attack
>Temporarily gain +10 attack
>Eat something with a fire enchantment
>Temporarily gain fire enchantment
>Eat a monster
>Temporarily gain their abilities
That's dumb enough to get five volumes and an anime.

The idea is to produce an isekai novel that isn't shitty.

Nah he can just eat anything and not die.

Pretty much Nakai's ability from Yuragi-san, MC has the power to turn any situation in his favor but he has to suffer consequences for changing fate. The consequences scale with how dire the situation is. It's a cheat ability but one he can't use recklessly.

I just assumed he was talking something more along the lines of "matter eater lad" than just any other skill stealing premise

Hell I'd fuse Modern Knowledge with Re:Zero so that the MC tries to be a 1-man industrial revolution but if he slips up just once he has to go back to the beginning and start over again

Just an isekai of all the horrible accidents of modern weapons and tech (I'm talking about dropping from tall buildings, getting electrocuted, getting cancer from the chemicals, getting half your face burnt off from a forge, getting sliced in half, etc.)

With a little tweaking that could be an interesting premise, and here's how.

Hell, or the Underworld or Tartarus if you prefer, is real in that universe, and every time he kills a particularly nasty guy he's adding to the big bad's arsenal of badguys. And here's the twist, the more powerful the magic used to kill them, the more powerful the magical 'imprint' is left on their souls, meaning every time he kills someone with this broken method, he's creating a superdemon which could easily be a threat to anyone. And just for the icing on the cake, every one of them is merely a soul given shape by magic, meaning there's nothing to "kill" should that army arise.

Now our hero has to figure out how to kill every badguy he meets with the least amount of magic possible, despite the vast majority of the worst and most depraved being supremely powerful or influential people already, or alternatively turn them over to his side so their souls will not be used in the coming war. Turn the most OP attack into the biggest threat. He knows if he kills them this way, they'll only come back much stronger, but when he's about to die its so tempting...

To be fair, writing an isekai novel with the only gimmick being "the MC isn't an overpowered cheater" is a recipe for generic shit.

He is taller than the rest of the characters, he was a manlet in his previous life.

guy is programmed by isekai by this point

He is weak alone. but the more characters (IE Harem members) that join him his power doubles.

Give me a skill any skill no matter how weak and I can make it OP by bullshit technicalities and "infinity+1"isms.

The power to control bears, nature's finest killing machines

youtube.com/watch?v=uIRLnwqgXwo

The skill to eat cold food very quickly without experiencing brain freeze.

I'm actually genuinely curious how you'd make
andandOP

Is this an allegory for antibiotics creating superbugs?

MC finds he has god-tier ice resistance, good things there are foods that give ice powers but can kill normal people

master of disguise
knight experience makes him the perfect warrior and leader
CREEEED!!!

None of the second reply are op. Except maybe whatever Creeeeed is referencing. Being a master of disguise is like 1/5th an OP spy's abilities, and being a 'perfect warrior' doesn't make any difference, anyone can be that.

Not him, but going down the list:
Master of disguise, possible healing when you use the ability, and is basically just the same as having all the abilities only one at a time in a big enough setting
Kind of shit, but that sort of premise tends to also make everyone in the world retarded in order to make the main character look like a genius for remembering to wear a helmet
The last one is absurdly terrifying out of the box. The only real hurdle is somehow being in charge of people once to prove himself

...yes. Thank you for spotting the subtle real-world theme that will help readers connect to the danger of this world through allegory without shoving it down readers faces and being so subtle anyone could miss that. Anyone.

Anyone.

Plus, last one would probably use the "work menial tasks and buy a slave to command" starting arc that's fairly popular. I'm thinking he wouldn't understand his power to begin with and buy a fighting slave to defend himself, then discover and train his power working with that slave. At that point it's the succeed at task, rise in status, take bigger task, story loop.

>Can you go into more detail? Better in what way?
Just slightly better in every way. Jump a bit higher. Little bit stronger. Run a little bit faster. Cast spells a little bit quicker. It can be a divine gift, so "a little bit" depends on the plot really. Though any story you make out of this is really about how MC-kun can touch a stronger foe without dying first.

I love shapeshifters, but they are best a secondary characters, not mcs. There is a lot of possible tension that can be created by throwing a shapeshifter in the enem's camp that just won't exist if the shapeshifter is the mc and thus you know he'll survive.

Honestly the worst thing a person could really do with the last one is just have an army of goblins, kobolds, or even fucking hobbits. Perfectly coordinated ninja army with soldiers that can hide in a fucking bucket.

start at level 1
stats of a normal person
normal-ass stat growths
no money (though can get it using odd jobs)
no rare equipment
no opportunity to become a noble
even the goblins use military strategy and tactics
Adventure guild starts in G-rank and have skill only appropriate for G-rank (that is barely any skills at all except maybe a simple sword skill).
Where you start the Demon king can kill you just by farting on you
FINAL DESTINATION

no edge, you can get by, but only if you work hard enough and smart enough

It worked for grimgar, but the problem is things tend to get stale at a point

I don't think last one fits the slave arc so common in Isekai, that ability really doesn't fit single fighter training arcs. You're only able to see one person at a time, which presumably they would be there for most of, and talk to them, that's it.

Ideally you'd want him to save a slave-caravan first, and maybe in there discover a free waifu because this is Isekai, and then they're attacked by a small force. The premise leans heavily on battle tactics being coordinated in a way that fantasy land wouldn't have, so you would have him discover his ability and use his ability to command the slaves. Of course then you run into the problem that OP didn't say he could CONTROL them, just TALK to them, so if someone breaks rank he's in trouble. Its really hard to make OP because A, he has to have to have a force that can do something with, as in actually capable beings at all, and B, they have to obey him despite him not having powers. Its possible if you have an OP army, but if you have an OP army does this power make you OP?

Ninjas would be a great thing though, but wouldn't that be hard to use? You can see them, but they're often in areas that are hidden, so its not like you could tell them all the weak points inside of a structure. Outside, sure, but they could see that for themselves, the only advantage would be in areas you can see but the Ninja can't, which isn't good for large-scale battles or internal espionage.

Really best thing to have is a whole "Hey, I'm an awesome super special leader" arc and they all obey him, but then the power isn't OP, the guy has OP charisma and smarts.

the trick is to not keep it that way
MC will eventually get power, levels, skill, money, etc. and will be able to fight the demon king (he's not going to be weak and stupid forever), but he has to earn all that from scratch.

>You're only able to see one person at a time

To clarify what I meant here, I don't know if OP meant he could see everyone at the same time but understand it or he has to switch between 'groups', so a single slave would still show up as just one group.

Accurate map making, so accurate it can even capture enemy troop movements.
Later on it turns out it's so accurate that MC can even change the terrain to match what he drew on his map.

He's the only character that can break the 4th wall.

It's pretty good as a comedy gag series, the one I'm thinking of MC has an auto-kill response and can even kill ice.

His power is that he can study good
The world has magic but it's a very complex magic system

LEARNING MAGIC HO!

>spoiler
that sounds fun as fuck
>updating a map of one of the first locations
>spills a bottle of ink on it
>loud fucking earthquake noises
>he starts to test shit by making moats and hills for his allies

>contradiction
It reads as '[a 13th century knight wearing period-correct equipment][in the middle of a high fantasy]' not '[a 13th century knight][wearing period-correct equipment in the middle of a high fantasy'

Just fast healing/regeneration. Something at a rate where it would only give a small edge if any in most fights, but means the protagonist can grow at faster pace than most people and take a few extra risks. Maybe even some sort of "healing magic received multiplier" power instead to avoid excessively stupid shit

That makes more sense, thanks.

Ability to read everyone's character sheets on sight. Makes him a great trainer, can see hidden potential and backstory, assess threats well and fight accordingly, knows everyone's name but pretends not to to throw people off his power and see if they will lie to him. Weakness is if he can't see them clearly ((full armor/costume/fog/night/blinded) and the power doesn't actually give him combat hax.

The power to turn enemies into masochists to a different degree for a limited time when touching them.
Basically make them feel pleasure whenever they get hurt, use it very strongly and enemies will launch themselves at your attacks, use it lightly and you can turn any girl into Darkness and that shit turns me the fuck on.

Ooohhh I like that, a similar thing to the bottle of ink thing came to my mind at first too

Love it. It's like the real-time strategy games of old, but as an anime.

basically it's two ideas. One is that its an isekai high school in a standard isekai world, except everyone is isekai'd and come from different timelines, where you get a knight from the 13th century studying alongside a hacker living in a cyberpunk world, a space pilot from a time where humanity has colonized space but still no ftl, some neet from 21st century Japan, a writer from the 17th century, a soldier from WW2, a crusader that fought during the First Crusade, a roman general, a caveman, and some others.

The other idea is that there's this knight who fell in love with the Queen of the Fey (without realizing she was the Queen of the Fey), who became obsessed with him that she took his body and soul and moved it into her realm, except that somebody summoned him by mistake and now he ends up being one of the weakest heroes because he wasn't granted any powers except for a weak regeneration ability and literal immortality. Somewhat like Deadpool or Zombieman from OPM, except he doesn't have any other powers or special abilities except his training.

make him a literal nobody, where he expected it would be high fantasy but he's actually stuck in 14th century Europe and got conscripted into the militia. probably make it a slice-of-life sort of story but with the medieval grittiness and the black death and shit

Wow. I hate it.

Hamon

Is this a predetermined fate that can't be avoided or something avoidable if you take action?

Since it is an allegory and superbugs are held back by new advancements in medicine, would the hero develop some kind of anti-magic similar to a vaccine to fight the supposedly unkillable souls or would it still have to be a struggle of him not using his instant kill so there's still tension?

Attached: 2570072_0.jpg (630x630, 70K)

Accountancy and modern record keeping.

They're 3 feet taller than the average person

Isekai into a fantasy world where everyone is retarded. The idiocracy of fantasy world's.

If they are going to die in three days then they will dream and know about it beforehand

so a typical isekai

Ability to breathe underwater. I want some sort of archeological isekai where the main character joins a group only to realize it doesn't get funding because there is too much war going on and it isn't in the kingdom's best interest at the moment or something like that.

Maybe instead of anti-magic he learns more practical techniques, like making himself or his party stronger and more resistant without relying on magic to do it for them. They're unkillable by magic because they've grown so strong they're "Immune" to that particular spell, but they can still be physically beaten that way and their "Soul" destroyed. Maybe introduce some tech-elements? Like how we're fighting cancer with robots ala the Auris Monarch. The entire thing focuses on winning not with insta-cures to the problem, which only creates a bigger problem later(Treating with super-drugs which creates super-bugs), but more practical approaches(bolstering immunity that lets you fight off the infection long term)

delete time

>MC just raises his own body temperature so everything is cold to him relatively
>proceeds to quickly eat his enemies since humans can be considered food too

Or like lower doses of more focused chemo, they use really weak and tiny magic in unique ways so that the demons formed are simply to physically beat down

Cooking eggs will be a new form of art.

Skinwalker powers: he wears somethingā€™s skin and gains itā€™s physical abilities, scaled to his own mass + expended magic power, meaning no turning into a building-dragon unless he gets pumped full of magic. The skin also has to cover at least 75% of his body for a full transformation otherwise parts get left untransformed which can be painful because of the different muscle attachments/bone densities, etc. and means no turning into small animals unless he wants to lose the part. Upgrade would have him gaining the skills and memories of the creature at the risk of being possessed by them if he selves into them too far, and then even later on being able to mix and match parts for more versatility.

This is absurdly broken and would let you utterly destroy even much, much larger armies with minimal effort.

Doesn't exist. I have an opening plot point for you though:
The MC is the first human ever to be seen on the planet and because of that novelty he ends up a house slave in a very wealthy, powerful house.
There you go, a feasible reason for the absolute Mcfuckingnobody MC to be put into a position where he's rubbing shoulders with people that actually matter.

Not at all. Unless you're a deeply specialized expert in some field it would take you multiple lifetimes to reconstruct its discoveries to modern levels even if you have a conceptual overview.

And most of the battle when trying to create modern things would be the supply and engineering side of things. You can know how a machine gun works but good luck producing them without machine tools and consistent quality steel.

Random power every day, ranging from completely useless to broken

Good business sense. This could be dragged out arbitrarily long.

Nothing. I want a bus full of Boy Scouts on their way to summer camp falling off a cliff because the driver had a heart attack and getting isekaied into the wilderness of some fantasy world.

They have only what they brought with them. Nobody comes to rescue them, and the whole thing is reality TV for dark, laughing gods.

Then shit straight out of Lost starts happening, and before anyone figures it out I will take the money and run

MC is a reincarnated petreoleum engineer who understands the full spectrum of petroleum extraction: exploration, exploitation, refining, transportation, and usage. MC invents internal combustion and most refining techniques and gets rich by acting as the oil baron for the local king until he has enough oilbux to take over the kingdom himself, at which point he builds tanks and starts liebensrauming the neighboring states.

Hi there, spirited teenage loser! You appear to have been reincarnated as a Gauss Rifle. Have fun being roughly handled by a post apocalyptic delivery girl hell bent on finding the man who shot her in the head!

I read this great science fiction book long ago, I forgot its name or author, set on a colonized extraterrestrial planet. The MC had a power similar to invisibility where it would make people just not notice him. It was really depressing, the revolutionaries were just using him for the sake of their revolution, and he just wanted the revolutionary girl to like him. Near the end he really uses it to fuck around with someone, he keeps hitting them, then kind of going "invisible" again, they forget about him, then he makes contact again, drives the guy crazy. Depressing end, The revolutionary girl dies, things get fucked up

That level 1 fireball from a mage guild can be taken to a nonmagical fantasy. Knowledge from GITS technology world can be used to uplift a pre-industrial society. Diving can be a way to escape imminent death. Any kind of level up mechanic is cumulative and transfers to the settings. Temporary alterations also carry over with their normal limitations, so a werewolf transformation can come in handy in a different world. The downside is time moves the same for all the settings he has entered, there is no pause button.

Ability to not get beaten up after "running into" naked girls.

Munchkin would face Demon Lord in female bath then.

Was more meant not "getting beaten because you ran into naked girls".

Death march sociopath mc seems very similar to him.

Why is he a sociopath? Are you just throwing buzzwords around?

A simple leveling system where stats actually matter.
If he's a sperg raising CHA will fix that.
If he's an idiot raising INT will fix that.
If he's a wimp raising STR will fix that.
It's surprising how many do the whole "LEVELLING STATS" shit but never actually use it properly past the "His fist can now destroy walls !" or "He's now got photographic memory !" or "His pheromones attract every female in a 1km radius !".
So boring and uncreative.

t. shit CHA

Because everything points out he doesn't have a shred of empathy or inner compass and tries to abide conventions of his world at time, and at the other he just roll with everything. Always droning about what is right when he knows it(with understanding why) while showing no remorse or regret in ambiguous situations.

withOUT understanding why.

>shred of empathy
>saves people just because he can

>inner compass
What's that?
>hurr durr hopes and dreams
>hurr clear goal durr

>tries to abide conventions of his world at time
If you have power to - why not?

>he just roll with everything
What's the worst that can happen he's unbeatable.

>while showing no remorse or regret in ambiguous situations.
Don't project your insecure bumbling self onto every MC.
"Decide once then be done with it" is very effective and common approach in people with proper character not a jello for a spine.

Any women he has sex with gets a massive power boost in everything they can do.

If they couldn't do anything before the sex they gets a massive power boost in a bunch of random bullshit.

And men?

But alchemists are almost always the most broken classes in RPGs.

I don't play a lot of those.

Don't give your protag any powers. Also, his isekai isn't RPG-based or resembling an Asian MMORPG fantasy setting. The chracter just learns how to survive in his new BS environment.

>kill army of lizards with gusto
Accidentally. He wasn't aware of his powers that's literally his first 10 minutes in isekai.
>didling ripe willing woman in young body is wrong
He has a taste for titty oneesans he says so multiple times are you retarded?
>again sexing slaves is wrong
Again: they're not up to his taste, Lizzie doesn't show any interest and he DOES try to make a move on Humunculi, but rest of the lolis stop him out of jealousy.

Did you fail to comprehend what happens to freed demi-human slave in human countries?
He's taking care of them until they can take care of themselves, this is also was clearly stated.
>>go to prostitute with std, only heal himself because
Well what's the fucking point she's a prost: unless you want to constantly heal their entire clientele - it's fucking useless.

Being the Monster Hero. MC can transform into monsters that he has killed and, after enough time of using that form, can keep the abilities and stats of that monster without having to transform, he can also partially manifest powers and parts of monsters he has already mastered. However, his charisma with humans and other humanlike species of the setting is lower than average, but he gains a higher charisma with monsters and beasts in general. MC is also more attuned with nature and mana.

The ability to decipher and fully understand all magic runes and magic items after examining them thoroughly. Afterwards they can reproduce the enchantments and effects of the runes, provided they have the required materials to do so. As an example, if someone cast a spell on a door to burn anyone other than them that tried to pass through it, the mc could reproduce that spell, or come up with some way to remove it. If they come across a magic sword created using materials from a dragon that can do such things as shoot fire, the mc would need the same, or at least very similar materials to recreate it.

Isekai with a car.
Infinite gas, you have the knowledge to fix it at any time with enough resources.

He shoots big fireballs from his hands but everytime he shoots one it causes him to go poopoo peepee in his pants.

Haha

The magic sword which is extremely hard to damage, knows a lot about swordsmanship and can create an illusionary space second-outside-year-inside to practice for the MC.
He can't die in this space and he has a regen which will eventually put him back together as good as new, but it has the same speed as the normal regen. All wounds will be transferred to his body after an exit.
Theoretically, he can prepare to win against anyone if he has a chance, in practice his mind will succumb after the years of torture.
It's a reasonably OP power but MC needs to train and think creatively to avoid mindbreaking himself.

He dislikes his job but doesn't hate it completely because it pays well enough. Most of his money has been spent on hobbyshit and customizations for his car like radio, paintjob, etc.
>Life was finally starting to get better and he got Isekai'd, but at least he has his car and it's magically fueled now. He still wants to go home though because things were finally looking up, and he knows deep down that he can't stay here forever.
>Other world works on a different scale of time compared to MC's world, but there is still a soft timelimit for when he needs to get back home
>Trip initially starts as a way for trying to get MC back home, but the group eventually gets entangled in political bullshit like most Isekais. He can't leave until this shit is dealt with.
>Evil empire eventually starts making knockoff cars based off of the encounters with the party, final battle is basically a death race.
>In the end, MC and the party are able to get him home. Because of how the portal works however, they can all see each other whenever the fuck they want, and they occasionally visit him in his world
>MC meets various companions in the other world, and they all become best bros over the course of his adventure. Magic lolibaba is the first he meets although she prefers the term "Petite Milf" after looking through some doujins and porn mags that were in the MC's car and learning these words
>Dwarf obsessed with Magitech that goes apeshit over his car, and they spend afternoons working together on the car. Combat modifications for the car get made, like a mounted magic turret in the back of the car that the mage uses to quickfire spells at enemies when driving away

Good luck trying to drive a car through the forested/mountainous terrain of a typical high fantasy world.

I doubt that even a 4x4 would manage.

The ability to understand and utilise reality glitches. Spending enough time in jail that his level underflows and he reaches beyond max, manipulating rng by moving in strange patterns, appearing in impossible locations by traversing parallel universes etc

...

This.

Do you know what I want? A title which is focused on exploration. Create a cool world filled with mysteries and infinite possibilities, and then let MC explore it.

Attached: 1539697078948.jpg (1600x1205, 395K)

He can drink from any cup and it will never spill.

in 's defense though it'd be a pretty massive pain in the ass to even figure out half of these glitches
the MC probably wouldn't even figure out that he had such a power for a while given the random nature, and if he did it could be some real horror shit
>walking normally and then he falls into an endless black void while nobody notices
>walking normally and then he gets stuck inside a wall
>walking normally and then he ends up flying in a random direction
Assuming that he was aware of the ability to find glitches, he'd have to spend ages to even find an item duplication glitch, let alone do it properly depending on the glitch. He could easily fuck himself up or accidentally spawn a dragon in the middle of town or some shit like that.

She will fucking despair and then some. And then the void at the end of the world. Think of it as an eternal solitary confinement. Thats her power.

I'm pretty sure I've seen something like this. Every time he sleeps, he "dreams" he's in another world, and in the first chapter or two, his hot elf companion and him fight a dragon, get their shit ruined and she manages to come with him to reality. They hang out for a day and then sleep "together" and go back.

This is really fuckin cool. Would making magical IEDs count towards this non-super demoning where you just carry around mundane copper plates and such and all the magic is focused on shielding/explosives?

A soul-sucking sword that's as much of a danger to its wielders friends as it is to their foes. The fact that it could send the protagonist in a bloodlusted state means that they'd have to keep people at arms length, giving whatever harem members they acquire ample time to get development outside of being a member of the MC's harem while also having the MC's OPness be a legit and literal double-edged sword

Justice Crash

>Come back to other world with magic relics
>No need to money or work anything like that between the magical abilities of the party, but work at a place just to keep the facade up.
>Live in a secluded place but use teleportation magic to get to work and deal with normal people
>Use powers primarily for amusement and fucking with people
>Distribute some of the fun artifacts to random people either in person or through shit like Ebay/Amazon. Nothing too overpowered that could end the world, but something that could make the local news and set the internet on fire like sets of linked mirrors, bags of holding, transformation necklaces or rings that let you breathe underwater
>For the justicefags, they could go after mafias or terrorists
>For the revolutionfags, they could go after whatever countries that they want if not the whole world
There is almost zero downside to going back to this world. The absolute worst case scenario is that your group might need to leave your initial country/go on the run after accidentally nuking a place or having your abilities discovered. Even then, illusion magic and memory wiping could probably work well enough to avoid such a thing, and with a harem that has anime bullshit superpowers you'd probably be able to take on the whole fucking world.

Sure it's a matter of preference for most people, but being able to take all of that shit back with you means that you really aren't giving anything up by going back home.

The power to deisekai.
It's a sober take on the genre, where the new world is just as harsh or even worse than were the MC came from. So he unfucks himself, unfucks other isekai'd characters and sends them back, then finally returns to the real world as a better person.
People would hate it, I'm sure.

You can raise CHA and STR in real life too. I wish there was a way to improve INT though.

>and your harem.
enjoy getting divorce raped and sent to prison for statutory rape.

Larry Niven wrote that story.

My idea: Mordenkainen's Tutorial Dungeon - as Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion invoked at level 20, except that MC can pick a skill to train and a dungeon optimized for teaching that skill is created in extradimensional space.

Cheat powers, user. Just use wizard magic to turn the family court judge's blood into acid and slaughter the police that are sent after you with a summoned zombie dragon.

Then ride said dragon to Israel, glass them all with its atomic Godzilla breath and build your tower there to use as your throne from which you rule all of Earth with an iron fist.

Binding Chains of Light: if you wrap this around someone/something they lose all their power and canā€™t do shit. Physical strength and techniques, magic power and spells, abilities that may have been activate at the time or any attempts to activate them: doesnā€™t matterā€” THEY CANā€™T DO SHIT.

It doubles as a whip that deals magic damage but you canā€™t use it as such if youā€™re binding something. This skill is incompatible with physical techniques and magical spells so that stuff is immediately canceled and stays that way if you use it.

There, a useful and powerful ability and itā€™s STILL weaker than most isekai cheat skills because it has limits, restrictions, and weaknesses built into it. yes, I know Iā€™m autistic for posting this.

They don't like penetration

>The brightly colored ā€œmushroomā€ had also changed its appearance. It was no longer as beautiful, and it no longer flowed with an appetizing luster. It was a bloodstained scalp with short black hair!
>Staring at Derrick, Darc opened his mouth, his voice cold and adrift.

The casual 180 into insanity is by far my favorite part of this series. It just gets so creepy and so fucking good

there unironically is, you need to change your mindset from being a fixed mindset into a growth mindset. Most of the people that fail out of college are the ones that have always been told that they're smart, and so they never learned how to actually learn or function since they were used to blowing through all of their work in less than half an hour.

>blowing through all of their work in less than half an hour.
I still do, when does this stop?

when you stop taking meme classes. for most people this is after their first or second years assuming that they start off by doing all of their gen eds
every degree is a meme degree. I'm not saying you'll struggle through classes, but you'll usually be able to tell what kind of a class it is once you've gone to lectures for a week or two. Some classes you need to study and go to every lecture, some you can just go to lectures, and others you can just not show up unless there's an exam. Depending on the class you can even get away with just doing the homework

>when you stop taking meme classes
So in 2010 at graduation, gotcha.

Why is the "big bad" always a fucking demon king? Is there no creativity left in isekai? The possibilities are literally limitless.

Ability to inflict himself and everyone within certain range with bad luck that could cause grave danger.
Imagine when MC start casting this spell, and bigass boulders start chasing them, local monster agitated for no reason, random earthquake, volcanoes and stuff.
The battle will consist of MC chasing villain around in hope to get them into the range of the spell, both MC and villain is equally in danger.

I read an isekai yesterday where the BBEG was the Pope and a previous isekai'd gamer.

Uh guys. Most of these are just gimmick cheats.

How about this? MC's "cheat" would be that through experience, hardship and the help of friends, he gradually becomes one of the most courageous and strongest heroes in the fantasy world.

KUSOGE

MC is highly proficient at Illusion magic, but weak at everything else
has to rely on intimidation, deceit and cunning rather than brute forcing everything

Why would a hikki loser in our world become so successful in another world?

Attached: 1486516828169.jpg (1280x720, 178K)

How about the cheat isn't anything significant enough that he can personally use, maybe just twice as capable in combat as anyone else. But it also gets passed to his descendants, so he has to impregnate as many people as possible, and so will his children, to one day have an army powerful enough to defeat the demons?

Not even a super power. Just make a scientist isekai'd and let him develop ak47s and maybe an atom bomb at the end of the show.

This premise has been done so many times, and I hate it every time.

Deep down I agreed with his idea, but I also had that half-smile, half-disgusted look on my face. Good show, though.

Morrowind is the only one I can think of here.
What are the others?

When that shit came out everyone called me a retard for saying it was cringe as fuck.

Did they at least scream IDDQD?

Any potion mixing class in JRPG like Salve-Maker in Bravely Default or alchemists in Pathfinder.

But can he fight?

Because it was. You're not a retard, it's just that his message was pretty badly delivered and, quite frankly, not all that much in character considering he was the leader of a bunch of fags who ransacked NPCs and thought that this was nothing more than a game.

What's wrong with ransacking? I'm surprised there wasn't more rape.

Yes.
Pathfinder Alchemists are bomb throwing, self and party buffing monsters with a potential to make a grand discovery that will make them immortal. Some archetypes can be heal sluts, some specifically study the ways to hurt people better, some just drink some shit that transforms them into dragons.
JRPG potion mixing classes usually have the most broken shit both for defence and offense.

>Larry Niven
Thanks user, I found it again.

tzeench worshipper pls.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 85K)

Well it's wrong when you come to learn that NPCs are curious and want to understand the world as much as the players. There's even that one kid that wants to be an adventurer, and almost dies chasing his dream. I'm with you on that rape thing, though.

A power that has consequence. The problem with most powers is that they are there to simply move the story along and not add tension. Small powers that don't put pressure on the main character are fine. Identify can be pretty nice, it means avoiding not so obvious traps, but on it's own doesn't do much. Only when you combine it with plot contrivance, such as finding a legendary weapon in a pile of hay.

Anyway, powers with consequence. Let's say you had absorb, you gain the properties of any creature you take into your body. You don't have any control on how this manifest and you can't turn it off. Once they are absorbed, they are a part of you. This goes even further with the fact that it also comes with the instincts of the creature and if you absorb anything with a Soul, then you are forced to integrate them into yourself. So do you go hog wild absorbing shit and getting more powers, but with the possibility of losing your mind? Or keep it just for emergencies?

Can't use magic like a large percentage of the world but due to the diffrence in the world's gravity he has far more strength, agility and can jump really high and far.

Kino's Journey knockoff? No thanks. It'll only be worth doing if they can pull off better worldbuilding than the original, which isekai authors can't.

Right? Immersion was ruined.

Soon AI would PCG Isekai stories like in good old 1984.
There are fantasy character backstory, fantasy city, fantasy world map generators already.
We just need to teach AI to PCG politics and we have ourselves a AI DM that would write adventure.

>Immersion was ruined.
I wouldn't say that, and it was meant to be a joke. It's just that, put in their place and if I thought that NPCs were mindless drones going about their day without any feelings, I'd probably have one sleeping in my bed every night or so. Or not. I want a RoboGF to make sure.

MC reincarnates into a cyberpunk world instead of fantasy world. It is so advanced that he cannot understand/reproduce the technology.
Give him close range, but incredibly potent electricity powers. He has to work out creative ways to close the gap against foes with guns, blinding speed, and superhuman strength without being blown to bits.

Mc has a sword that can cut anything. Can't be stolen either (soul bound). Every time he kills humans with it, the more corrupt he becomes. So he has to be a hero, and kill monsters. But things get complicated when humans are the bad guys.

Attached: JPEG_20190627_151051.png (182x182, 38K)

mc gets a stick. everyone laughs until they hit it and it turns into two sticks. then they attack again and it is three sticks. mc has to learn to wield this power.

In a timeline divergent from our own where the CCP lost the civil war, a regular soldier is isekai'd.
He is armed only with 5000 years of culture, his military training, and the legendary shovel of unlimited uses, 'Function Show'.
youtube.com/watch?v=pOzaQTPeznE

Oops, that was the wrong rarity of shovel.
youtube.com/watch?v=b60OZhrTB6o

Why not just have a sword for humie killy stuff like the witcher that is non-enchanted?

Thatā€™s OP cheat though, you eat enough and you get into near god mode in under a year.

3 times power on all magic and skills.
It sounds OP but I still canā€™t do unique magic, skills or learn all of them.

Yes I would go back.
Cheat powers would be just a plus if I get to stay home all day shitposting.

You're talking about Rance, and he isn't even an isekai MC, nor does he have descendants with that specific goal in mind.

>MC now has to find a way to get rid of his curse, deal with God's crazy antics and finally find a way to entertain him other than wars before he ruins the planet.
This part is inadvertently the final plot of Kichikuou Rance.

Because he can only use that one sword. Think Shield hero, but not because the shield itself doesn't let him. But because he doesn't have the skill to multi-wield, and he cannot unequip a soulbound item. I mostly was planning on making it a comedy story anyways, with some later edge and moral dilemmas. Hes also not the only "hero", there is an association.

Oh fuck really? I spoiled myself.

Attached: 1552230470140.jpg (700x513, 66K)

The MC is a American Football player.
1.94m tall, 85 kg.
He is Isekai'd into a fantasy Japan where everyone is 1.6m tall at most.

A big dick, porn star looks, above average charisma and an ability to understand and perceive interpersonal relationships. And an AR15 and Glock 19 with infinite ammo.

... In full player kit, helmet with guards.

That what I was thinking.
He would end up with a mix of a kit and a samurai armor.
I was thinking of a fantasy Isekai Yasuke.

this is an awful dumb idea but it would sell well for the normalfag/sports crowd

>the world is almost at peace
>but the MC has a poison in him that will kill him
>adrenaline keeps the poison at bay
>MC has to keep thrilling himself in new ways to stay alive
>shenanigans destabilize the world

bonus points for MC just being Jason Statham

Way too skinny for an American football player. You're looking at more like 110-140kg depending on position.

Mc summoned with cheat power to win every fight, if its actually possible with his current stats within a time limit. (Pretty much makes him very skilled). Is cursed with misfortune, and is the unwitting pawn of an evil god.

You didn't read X spoilers? Sorry. But it was even subtly implied in VI.

user I'd be trying to get back home from the word go. Throw every harem fetish at me, make me chinkshit endgame powerful, allow me to make shoyu that can make gods cum with rage, I don't care. I don't want to live in some shithole Dragon Quest pastiche world, I like cars, the Internet, and flush toilets.

Power thief, mc gets something from anything he kills, it can be added strength or speed, maybe more magic power or knowledge about some spells, but he can never chose what he will take.

Wow, this is fucking awful.

I'm already writing an isekai. MC starts off as an out of shape neet with zero combat experience and the story is his slow climb to becoming one of the greatest fighters in the world. So far it's just him training, fighting trash mobs for practice, going on low level quests, and being mentored by more experienced adventurers.

His actual 'cheat' power is that he has a demon king living inside of him and he involuntarily taps in the demon lord's centuries of combat experience granting him godlike reflexes/muscle memory/tactical combat genius for a split second, usually whenever his life is in great danger. He doesn't gain any super strength or speed beyond what he's already capable of with his body.

Instead of MC relying on the demon king's power all the time, he decides to train hard so that he'll be a good enough fighter so that he can survive fights without the demon king's help. His reasoning that the power is unreliable and he doesn't want to bet his life on a power that may or may not manifest. The plan is for MC to basically become a top tier fighter due to his own training, with only minimal help from the demon king's power.

Also the demon king is revealed to be a very cute shota. Everyone thinks he's evil at first, but eventually he reveals that he just feels lonely and isolated and he wants to help the MC because he sees him as his only friend. Also, the shota demon king may or may not be romantically interested in the MC.

This but with a flip phone

The protagonist is an adult. Someone like a chemist who has extensive practical knowledge of science.
He is transported into a world dominated by magic and full of generic fantasy monsters. Since he is transported to this new world he has a body that is incapable of using magic, and he's a scientist so he's naturally weak.
He must use his advanced knowledge of science to overcome the obstacle of surviving in this world.
At first he's useless, but he slowly starts developing weapons to fight the monsters. By the end he is walking around in a hazmat suit killing monsters with mustard gas or some shit.

just a guy AOEing monsters with Exterminating practices was good enough

just googled it
lol, someone basically made my idea already
didn't know about that

also the MC is a dense asexual harem MC with no personality and rather fuck prostitutes than his harem

that also pissed me off

Maybe some modern martial arts consecutive CQC technique at normal human level, not weak nor OP.

You really think that paltry magic can match the ingenuity and strength of man?
Pathetic.

the part about scientist styling on wizard
well that's been done before too
but no one mixed it together yet

The protagonist is a professional con man. He gets isekaid into a fantasy world and cons his way into power. His advanced knowledge of science occasionally helps him deceive people.

thats kinda like the reincarnated as a slime isekai

Can temporarily return to original world and get stuff to bring back. There would need to be a cooldown time though, so it can't be spammed or anything

Thanks.
So Moist von Lipwig the isekai?

Isekai powers. As in, when he dies, he can isekai himself to any world he's been to, or a random new one. But he can't instantly go back to the same one in a row, so when he dies, he probably won't have time to get back to the thing he was doing

Victor Lustig isekai?

No powers, but he's someone with the actual physical prowess and wit to survive. Quick-thinking and resourceful because he has to be, not because he is. Someone like Shu from Now and Then, Here and There.

this post reminded me of a story a friend's dad told me about how he was going to be abducted by aliens so he started jacking off and they paralyzed him and flew off so that's why he was paralyzed when the cops arrested him for being on meth in public

Mc is a depressed neat who is sick of living so he takes his life by trying to oxygen deprive himself, he succeeds at it Then he dies and is transported to a new world, however for some deus ex reason his childhood friend is able to resuscitate him. Now mc is alive but his body is stuck in the original world and his soul in the new world. This allows him to use magic in his own world

It's a serious problem with too many MC. 1 is too many.

Attached: 013_1496763846.jpg (836x1200, 594K)

>lotm just updated 20 fucking chapters

A chemistry degree.
Knowing the recipe for gunpowder is a huge advantage in a medieval fantasy setting but only if you can keep it to yourself, which is a bit of a problem as black powder weapons are only really useful en masse.
Thus, the primary conflict the MC faces is not actually finding the means to defeat the demon king/evil empire/whatever but rather stopping his or her enemies from acquiring those means as well.

Evil Dead was awesome and a textbook example of how Isekai should be.

I thought Evil Dead was about a guy with a chainsaw for a hand fighting zombies?
I'm not saying that isn't a textbook example of how an isekai should be, just that I don't see the connection to my other post.

It was also time travel, but introducing science to the primitives is important, and it had that too.

damn, I guess I really should watch those movies some time
