We are playing as underdogs facing literal monster tier enemies. C was one of weaker ones, maybe the weakest of them. Game punished Rean as fuck but the payoff during intermission was great.

It was excellent. It was also one of the few times when meta-knowledge made the thing even better. I remember how furious I was watching the happy family which sold their daughter and only waiting till they do something similar with their son. I was quite surprised.
