creativity and uniqueness. qualities you don't possess hence the lack of cryptid caps, or even a 3x3 for that matter.

I know I'm responding to bait but I'd just like to establish that that has nothing to do with the anime.
They play anime cutscenes/dances during the lives.
Are you shallow or just stupid?
If you enjoy the characters and music in Love Live! Sunshine!! then you will probably enjoy the characters and music in Revue Starlight too.
openings.ninja
I don't understand your question. I enjoy the anime because the seiyuu are great. For a show like LL Sunshine, the anime, seiyuu, and live performances are all intertwined.
I'll give it a try solely because of hina
not bait but the bottom 3 of my 3x3 can be changed at any time. I like the top 6 too much to be swapping out any anytime soon.

That's neither correct, nor is it an answer. (No one even asked any question.)

Not a lot of anime resonate with me very well anymore.
Eva I found an appreciation for after giving it a heavy retry once Netflix pushed it back into the public consciousness and it dug into me almost like an obsession. The shot composition is creative, the art style and aesthetic is professional in a military and medical kind of way, The characters are incredibly relateable to me as someone recently getting through depression and trying to like myself. Something about Unit 01 makes me want to get incredibly close to her. Not sure if it's sexual yet. Shinji is very lucky.
FLCL is just a visual composition wet dream not to mention its consistently fun and goofy throughout the entire thing. It's a well comp'd cartoon with great music and creative character personalities that don't stick to being recognized tropes for easy storytelling. It stuck with me ever since I first saw it decades ago. It's the anime equivalent to punk music.
Digimon is mostly because Kaiju are really cool and the fact that there are a bunch of goofy children that bond with them so closely and form their own family is so fucking cool. The pilot is also a masterpiece in shot composition.
How do people find this enjoyable after finding out that the protags live on a shitty prison island.

I'm in a similar situation, but I think it's just down to not a lot of stuffing coming out at the moment being interesting to me rather tha just being jaded at anime as a whole. Why not? You had five at one point.
I fear he doesn't understand that the concept of a "favourite" doesn't require you to be absolutely infatuated with it.
He also doesn't seem to have seen many anime, at least not outside of the absolute mainstream/reddit choices, considering his picks.
Bump?
>the concept of a "favourite" doesn't require you to be absolutely infatuated with it.
Isn't that how it should be?
As if someone is supposed to take their time to intricately dissect why they like 3 different anime on an anonymous lolifucking imageboard. If you want me to go in depth you gotta know me personally chief!
>Isn't that how it should be?
Not really. Hardly anyone is a diehard fan of 9 whole anime. Most people in here would probably agree than they are only "really into" less than half of their grid.
"Favourite" of a certain category just means that you like it better than other things in that same category. Even if you don't really like anything in that category.
Bump.
Any lurkers here too shy to make their own 3x3?
I was thinking of making one, but I'm missing the final piece. Finding a show that really resonates with me doesn't happen too often.
>I was thinking of making one, but I'm missing the final piece.
Well, someone in here made one with three, leaving six spaces open. You might as well make one with eight (for now).
sure, why not.
I hope you'll forgive me but I can't be assed to rate others right now.
maybe in the next thread.
also feel free to bash me for having tatami galaxy and evangelion.
Oh, that won't do, I want to be in my best form if I ever join this circlejerk. Jokes aside, I guess it would be interesting to see what others might say about the shows I like, but it isn't something I need immediately, I can just take my time.
More people in this world need to see Heidi and Doremi.
Well, you have a point there. Hope you'll come back once you've made up your mind about your last pick.
>feel free to bash me for having tatami galaxy and evangelion.
Nothing wrong with those two as long as they're actually among your favourites. Nice picks in general. Gonna rate it later, in the hope that other grids get posted until then. I like rating in bulks.
Well, okay then. No other new grids ...
6/7
>as long as they're actually among your favourites
well it's not like they grant you street cred or anything in these threads. quite the contrary actually.
You talk about resonance as that is the necessary condition for you to consider an anime as a favorite, but then you go on to describe your picks without really mentioning anything about what resonated with you except for evangelion.
Looking at your post it seems to me like there is no reason why digimon is a favorite and, say, pokemon isn't.
I appreciate you trying to articulating why you like them but you really have not said much.
No use rating as I'd mostly give out X/3s or X/4s. I need to watch more anime. Do you have any recs for me, Yea Forums?
Rewatch shin sekai yori so you don't have to embarass yourself by thinking it hold up.
Also, watch eureka 7
>hating on Shin Sekai Yori

>No use rating as I'd mostly give out X/3s or X/4s.
No problem with giving x/3 or x/4. It's better than not rating. Even a 0/0 is some kind of recognition, as minimal as it might be.
As for giving recommendations: This is not the right thread for that kind of thing. But, as it is a mix of classics and falshy/unconventional things, you could literally look for 3x3 in here that have those and pick things from them you don't know that look interesting to you. There's a lot of things you "might" enjoy, and literally nothing one could guarnatee you will enjoy.
You have two Yuasa things, so maybe more from him? Or Satoshi Kon, if you're into anime that focus on cinematorgraphic storytelling.
If you only know HxH 2011, try HxH 1999.
Lupin is a bit of an odd one out, but if you enjoy that style, other TMS and Toei things from the early 70s might qualify (there are lots of those).
When it comes to flashy things, FLCL is the obvious candidate. Though it doesn't have much more to offer and you probably already know it.
As I've said, just pick and choose from other grids you agree with and you'll be fine.
>You have two Yuasa things, so maybe more from him
I've seen most of his stuff, but I haven't checked out Kemonozume yet.
>Satoshi Kon
Saw all of his movies and Paranoia Agent.
>MTS
What does this acronym mean?
>FLCL
Already saw it, I partially disliked it because of the romance-related themes.
Thanks for the response, user.
>just pick and choose from other grids you agree with and you'll be fine
I do that sometimes, but people don't put names of the anime in their charts, so if I can't recognize an anime, I need to ask for it and wait for someone to respond (if anyone responds at all) or get called a newfag.
>What does this acronym mean?
TMS. TMS Entertainment. Tokyo Movie Shinsha. The very animation studio that produced the Lupin anime.
From what you're saying, you've seen lots of things that appear in these threads. Certainly the enough to rate most of the grids in here.
>people don't put names of the anime in their charts
That's what reverse image searches are for. And if you really can't find something and want to know, just asking is not that bad.
>it's not like they grant you street cred or anything in these threads
Only because they are so common in here that people often regard them as "fishing for points" picks. Many people like them at least enough to award them a point each.
Unless your whole collage is made up of that kind of thing, it's unlikely that anyone will take offense, though.
>Certainly the enough to rate most of the grids in here
I guess, but that speaks more about the experience of people when it comes to anime. Still, it is hard to work on your anime backlog since it requires a lot of time, at least if you're watching the lengthier stuff.
>if I can't recognize an anime, I need to ask for it and wait for someone to respond
Or you could use reverse image search
>I guess
Well, give rating a few things a try then!
>it is hard to work on your anime backlog
Sure it is. I think every one in here has a long backlog. One way of getting through it more quickly is to force oneself to watch those things first you have doubts about and be ready to drop them early if you don't like them. No idea if you'd find that enjoyable though.
3/6
Oh wow, just witnessed an impressive battle. you had to do THAT move but still couldn't win. A worthy opponent.
Okay, I did a little experiment I wanted to try:
I input all "proper" 3x3 (those with 9 things on it) into a randomizer algorithm, then also generated a random number N from 1 to 9 for each of them. Took the Nth thing from each and compiled them into a new grid.
So, here it is: A random sample of Yea Forums's taste.
Turned out ... well ... you judge yourselves!
I'd rate it a 3/6, personally.
What does everyone else think?
By the way, here's the raw data:
>190036390+(6), 190017179+(7), 190047537+(1), 190013887+(8), 190027879+(6), 190015917+(6), 190016070+(4), 190017134+(6), 190013429+(3)
That's pretty trashy desu. 2/7
You should probably rework it so it just uses anime and not manga nd anime.
Also avoid using reverse grids (that dark magician girl is from one of them).
Other than that this should be interesting.
I considered not using reverse grids (especially after the first pick happened to be from one), but that comes with the problem of determining for each 3x3 whether it's straight-forward, inverse or a joke-grid. Sometimes that's not easy.
But I can definitely try it next time a thread gets to a sufficient sample size. (Or maybe I'll redo this one if this thread happens to survive longer and a large number of new grids get posted.)
Not sure about leaving out manga, honestly. They are valid 3x3 in this thread after all and some people do mix anime and manga in their grids anyway.
Not in order of favorites, I made this last year
Just check the archive for more grids. No single thread will have a sample size big enough to be representative of Yea Forums' taste
>Just check the archive for more grids.
Nah, let's keep in single threads. I might make more for other threads and then maybe, if I have enough of those, randomize between them again.
Going through all archives and throwing out duplicates and such is far too much work.
2/4
Which ones? Just curious
Points for Togashi and Togashi.
Assassination Classroom and Mob Psycho are okay, but don't stand out enough to me to warrant a point.
When two equally great minds compete, a stalemate is the fairest outcome.
Cute eyebrows. I suggest you watch DNA^2.
If you want recs could you perhaps explain what you liked about a few of your favourites? I'm finding it hard to extrapolate anything about your personality or taste by just looking at this grid.
But which is better, yyh or hxh?
I'd suggest everyone watch DNA². I do have it on my 3x3, after all. (The one I posted in here even has a frame from that very scene your pic is from!)
Personally, I'd say HxH, if only because Togashi enjoys more freedoms with it and has less pressure to rush it.
But both have their strenghts and weaknesses.
>Less pressure to rush it
Yeah, it's a shame he had to cram in an ending that was pretty subpar. Hopefully hxh's will be better

I could say the same if it wasn't for Ami, who I found quite boring.

Yeah. I like Ami because I always inevitably fall for the osananajimi who gets NTR'd in the end. I also like girls with thick eyebrows, short hair, and cute fashion. I think the girl who has a farting problem is pretty cute but her shtick got old really fast.
>I like Ami because I always inevitably fall for the osananajimi who gets NTR'd in the end.
