Intelligent, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor
He looks like he's used to balls being held in his honor.
He's Miura's husbando after all.
>a wicked sense of humor
Has Griffith EVER made a joke?
>1 chapter in 1 year
wtf is Miura actually doing with this series? its obvious he doesnt care anymore. The last chapter looked like it was drew 100% by an assistant
>Has Griffith EVER made a joke
Yeah, remember that one time during the Eclipse? That was hella funny
>sense of humor
>Griffisu
Pick one.
Closest thing would be when he instigated the water fight with Guts.
When he offered to lend some porn to Guts.
This western catamite looks like he sells his body to the elites to climb the social ladder.
He's been pranking Guts for years
>intelligent
Yes. But still childish.
>nihilistic
Not even close.
>wicked sense of humor
Sort of? He could be fiercely smug, like when he burned the queen or his wolfish grin at Julius, or even his reaction to Guts at the Count's castle, but he isn't really the joking type. Just amusedly looking down on defeated obstacles.
Why are you portraying him as lacking humor when there's nothing in the story that indicates that? To the contrary, he's mentioned to be uber-charismatic several times. Guts even says his personality shifts suddenly from childish and lighthearted to serious.
There were plenty of times he was lighthearted. Remember when he taught Charlotte how to play the leaf kazoo? Still not sure if that really counts as him trying to be overtly humorous though. Seemed more like guileless children's games.
Not him, but I don't recall Griffith ever intentionally making a joke, or even being particularly witty in his speech. Is being playful really the same as being funny?
being funny isn't the same thing as having a sense of humor
He most likely was funny, not the "cracking jokes" Corkus type funny, but he was charming enough that the notion that he had no sense of humor is absurd.
Fair enough. In that context his sense of humor still doesn't qualify as wicked since the situations he finds amusing are childish and innocent. Again, I'd hardly qualify his smug disdain for Julius or Gennon or Guts as a humorous reaction, so much as just being haughty and scornful.
He was charmingly self serious a lot of the time. He liked to captivate people with his grand vision, while being affable in a polite and reserved way most of the time. Exceptions being Charlotte and Guts. Speaking of, I just thought of a time Griffith actually cracked some jokes. When he was on the mend after the Zodd fight, chatting with Guts.
>He was charmingly self serious a lot of the time. He liked to captivate people with his grand vision, while being affable in a polite and reserved way most of the time.
Graciousness and politeness only take you so far. Humor is an integral part of being likable. You absolutely need to be entertaining to be as charming as Griffith was implied to be, particularly beyond the first impression/for any prolonged conversation in order to maintain interest.
The only time I can think of when Griffith is talking about Zodd being proof that God might exist and Guts says "Don't you mean the devil?" and he's like "I don't know. Isn't it the same thing?"
>Griffith was my one true forbidden love...
Then I joined nords and thought i'd never see him again
I see what you did there OP
He also joked about thanking the old fortuneteller that gave him his lucky charm. I'm trying to think of other times he was clearly joking around, but none really come to mind unless we count asking Guts if he wants to borrow a porno mag (hard to tell if he thought Guts might really be interested)
