His characters look more "human" compared to the depictions in the other series. Teenagers actually look like teenagers and adults like adults. Mikoto dying would be an interesting opportunity for multiple characters (including Touma AND Misaki) to get legit and interesting character development, meaning her sacrifice should be a higher priority but that's not going to happen either. None of the established cast is going to die permanently at this point, and we're going to have to get used to it.

Sacrificing Misaka for Misaki would make fuck all sense though. Without Misaka Misaki is nothing more than window dressing, the only reason Misaki is trying to get involved with Touma again is because she can do so only as an acquaintance of Misaka.
