Soul Eater was nothing special. The manga was pretty meh
Also, the autor ignored Free and the frog witch, witch were the only characters I cared about.
Soul Eater was my childhood and I am very nostalgic about the anime, and appreciate everything that happens in the manga, despiet their flaws.
However, there is one thing that IMO doesn't get enough attention:
