Does Ragdoll's quirk only work on people? Because if AFO can analyze and identify structural weaknesses, he probably mapped out every flaw in Tartarus prison upon entering the facility. As bizarre as it may sound I think Twice is the only guy from the League I could ever see cooperating with the main cast given the right circumstances. Something like AfO betraying them and taking over for instance. Shigaraki is too much of a psycho and would never do it, spinner is fucking useless, Toga is a psycho, Dabi likely would want nothing to do with it and would just run off, Giga is a non-factor and the hat dude (forgot his name) I dunno but he'd probably run off too.
To save his "friends" I think Twice could be talk-no-jutsu'd even if just for some time.

At this point you'd at least need Toga on your side too for him to tag along. Not a hard thing to do if Midoriya and Ochako are on your side, but keeping her in line is a whole other story and I don't think she can be normalized or redeemed without some sort of severe compromise.

I think AFO has had multiple bodies. I think at this point, he’s more a quirk consciousnesses than an actual person. Shiggy is just gonna be the next host, but he needs to build himself up first.

It would also make it polar opposite of OFA. OFA transfers from person to person, each person adds their energy into the mix. Deku has communicated with OFA using the vestiges of previous users to communicate. I think All Might, wasn’t really the right fit for OFA. AM did the most with it, but it never communicated to him like it did with Deku or even Nana.

It was clear that Nana kept AM in the dark about a lot of stuff. It’s also why his vestige isn’t very clear and why he could only use portion of it before his body wore out after his fight with AFO.

AFO’s body was failing which is why he lost to AM. Yet, Shiggy wasnt experienced enough for a body transfer. His level was too low, wouldn’t survive the transference. Just like how Deku had to beef up to use OFA.

The difference is that unlike Naruto Deku doesn't hesitate to kick people's asses the second he notices they're going for the kill. The only person he really tried to tnj was Gentle and that mostly because he seemed like a semi-rational person who was at least willing to debate him. Since he has too many characters he has to remind us that they exist and that they are great students as evident by the joint training arc. though in that arc deku did get his first awakening. I dont have the patience, I should really drop the series and check back in at least 2 years since the joint arc took 4 whole months to complete, or was it one year.

Well, it had to be someone who went on the summer training trip. There were only two UA teachers who went, Aizawa and Vlad, so the chance of it being a teacher is very low statistically.

I expect they’ll break the history of OfA up into parts. Deku will probably learn a bit of each user’s life story as he unlocks their quirk.

If Twice copied Deku, I think the clone would be able to use OfA. And Certainly AfO would be able to use his powers. The problem with the latter is, a clone AfO might, like the Twices, decide HE'S the original and that other guy a duplicate. And it would be best to get rid of him before he gets uppity.

I think he could. He'd be hurt, but not out. We've seen hints that Shiggy has more than human endurance and stamina, and we know he's got inhuman speed. I suspect Deku may not be the only one with multiple quirks.

I really struggle to see Re beating Giga. Even if he has enough stored stress to become even stronger than he is now, Giga is still a monster with huge stamina, I just don't think Redestro will have enough stamina to keep up for long. The only way I could see him winning is if he has enough pent up power to significantly damage Giga very fast before he has a chance of drawing it out. It's a battle of aggression, either he takes Giga down right away or he lost.

Alright I made a mistake by not also mentioning limits and instead treating them as the same thing. Also, Compress his quirk is fucking OP so that one is disqualified and I mentioned Overhaul in the previous post (he said it himself). Bakugo is in pain when he overuses it without support items. Kendo's quirk really isn't that....outstanding too begin with. Hori has never gone into specifics about Inasa's quirk. Shiggy still needs all five finger unlike Onahole (or all fingers on one hand, big difference and regarding Dark Shadow I stand with this user , but would like to add that the drawback comes from either light or dark not relative effectiveness.

But the ball toss was last. Deku was fit as hell after 10 months of hardcore training with All Might. Tooru just doesn't have any way to beat that, plus she's a girl so she's automatically weaker. The only girl in 1A who's probably more athletic than Deku would be Mina.
But then there's still boys without physical augmentation quirks. How did Kaminari beat him in anything? How did Mineta? Even if he did good at the sidesteps thing he should still have lost everything else by a landslide. It doesn't make any sense.

Personally I wish Hori would take more time to flesh out character's powers more. Bakugo gets some half-assed scientific explanation on how he makes Boom-Booms, but then there are other characters that are simply supernatural.

Or you have characters like Sato that have a good cost-benefit to their quirks along side characters that are 'blessed' with godlike power. I know Hori made the difference between quirks a big part of his story, but some semblance of balance would have been good.

It actually wasn't, it was just the last shown. Deku himself says he barely managed the endurance race due to the pain, the toss was like 5/7. And since the end result was a combination of all other results, he probably lost due to those 2.
Don't forget technique too. Being fir doesn't automatically make you good at long jumps, if you don't have the proper technique you'll still be shit, same for most things that aren't just sprinting.

One of the points of the BNH universe is that some quirks are straight up just shit or mostly useless, while others are ridiculously good. It's like in X-men where some are busted like Magneto and others are just ugly freaks with 0 benefits.

Izuku should use more grabs, arms and leg locks. Even at just 8% he could probably snap most people's arms easily or choke them into submission. In fact he could probably go even higher without breaking himself since he isn't impacting things with his body but rather using the opponent's own weight or just tensing his muscles and pulling/twisting.

That'd require Hori to do some research into actual fighting techniques. And read fighting manga to get better choreography, there are some great ones for grappling like Kengan.
Technique wise there isn't really a whole lot going in on in BNHA. The fights are pretty but incredibly simple.

Izuku learning some MMA would be the smartest choice the character could make.

Prefer it if he was more like Itagaki or Sandrovich. Some of their choreography with Hori's excellent art would be a treat.

But what would it be about?

Take the Muscular fight. That one is much maligned because it came down to 'punch harder!'.
What if instead of that, Hori went and showed Midoriya's improvement and intelligence by having Deku attack Muscular's weak spots: Joints, Eyes, Ears, Groin etc. Wear Muscular down through intelligent fighting rather than brute force.
This would go and both make Deku look skilled and differentiate him from All Might. AM would have just ripped Muscular in half with his strength, but Deku is not that lucky, he has to make do with careful planning and creative techniques.

That would have been cool, but I think the presence of Kouta made that kind of fighting impossible, since Deku couldn't lure Muscular into any traps since Muscular would just go after Kouta instead.

Bnha's most glaring problem is the awful pacing.

That throws a monkey wrench into the fight, but for the better. What better way to show that Deku is a good hero than having him have to control the fight against someone that outclasses him in almost every way except Brainpower and protect a kid while doing it.
Remember Muscular was fucking stupid. Deku could have outplayed him.

That is because all Deku tried was just OfA punching Muscular as hard as he could. Deku didn't think about aiming for weak points or using techniques like chokes, locks, throws and the like that are not reliant on brute force.
Muscular might be able to create a wall of muscle fibers for defense, but that does little to protect his knee, ankle, and elbow joints (all generally unmuscled) from attacks.

True. Originally Hori's contract with Jump was only 10 volumes then extended to 30 for the entire manga and it should've stayed that way.

Muscular could make himself a ball of muscles apparently stronger than a giant metal robot, so weak points and locks wouldn't work either.

I think till volume 11 of what we got which is All Might vs AfO is all content from original planning. After that the anime came out and it got super popular so the contract extended.
I think Overhaul arc and every after that till what we have now is new material after the extension which means they were probably not in the original planning.
Maybe after Kamino fight we were supposed to go straight to join training arc so that Deku activates the other seven OfA quirks and from there onward is Deku perfecting his OfA powers to head straight into fight boss fight with Shigaraki.

Cultural Festival and Joint Training definitely feel like Hori for the most part used them to come up with some more things (Destro introduced by Gentle. Let alone the Thief guy and potentially Brave for example.) and think of how to advance things (Pro Hero) and then Joint Training to plan out further and stall for a bit of time.

Giga shows up. He sees Redestro beating on Shiggy, which is his job. They have a stare down. One of them makes the first move. After that, it very rapidly escalates until they're the size of mountains and rushing each other, fists drawn back for an all out United States of SMASH level hit. The doc, realizing what's happening, pulls all the Leaguers out immediately. Any LA member who can see what's coming tries to get out of the area. The two hit with the force of two nuclear bombs and Deika City, the millions of Twices, the hundreds of thousands of LA soldiers, all the buildings and footage, go bye-bye.

We have to wait for the dust to settle to find out who survives.

Look at the Muscular fight again, even at the end when ostensibly Muscular was going all out, his knees and ankles were no where near fully protected. A smash to one of them would greatly slow Muscular down and at least allow Midoriya and Kota to escape. If not set the stage for Midoriya then taking Muscular out fully.

Giga dies and ReDestro is captured by the approaching Pro Heroes. He is thrown in Tartarus and starts writing letters trying to stir up a Pro-Quirk Revolution against the Hero Society.
He has an effect no unlike Stain, but on a larger scale.

He was good until he fought against All Might for no reason, basically sacrificing himself to save that little shit Shigaraki...

One could write it off as 'we are too early in the story', but other than the cartoon'ish acts of 'le evil' there hasn't been anything of substance that has cemented the hero society as the right path to thread on. It was especially FUCKED UP in the brief bits dwelling on a relationship between AfO and OfA. The excuse for conflict was literally - 'muh justice' that isn't much in itself without a flashback how everything was supposedly FUCKED up in the old times. AND EVEN THEN, it had to be a damn good reason, considering, that is was a time of a major paradigm shift, since appearance of quirks is a big fucking deal.
I kind of like the manga, but I do think it's done sloppy on so many levels that it's jarring. Even the quirk mechanics & the science behind them is retarded. Well, maybe I'm rambling a bit, but, FUCK, it's such a roller-coaster with how many things mangaka gets things right & all the other elements he fucks up royally.

We don't really know. Externally they look as messed up as before. The doctor who examined him after the fight started to say something about his arms but Midoriya, expecting it to be the old "Your ligaments look like a BOMB exploded in your arms!" line, cut him off. The thing is, it might have been "Your arms are supposed to look like a BOMB exploded in them, but they look fine on x-ray! How did you do that?" We probably won't know until later.

Yeah but there's no way Hori will ever let Bakugou straight up lose a fight, so I'm not really all that interested in it seeing as we already know who's going to win.
