Oyasumi Punpun is pretentious shit

author forced to make everything always go wrong from him

Undoubtably, but I’m asking about the character himself. Punpun himself is pretty unpretentious

Both (also poorly written)

Ah, just like real life!

He's tragic because he's getting what he deserves, you illiterate rube.

How is he tragic if it’s what he deserves?

Because he's constantly a victim of his own bad decisions along with bad shit out of his control happen to him.

This

Punpun is a cunt.

This right here is the true tragic figure of the series.

He's a victim of his bad decisions and the things that happen around him. The real tragic character is Aiko

The classical tragic hero is brought down by their own character flaws despite noble intentions.

Does that mean they deserved it?

Yes it does.

when everything is always go wrong, it's as bad as plot armor shounen when everything always go right.

Would you have read this series if it was about a mediocre boy living his mediocre life with nothing “too bad” happening to him?

cringe

He made some poor decisions but wasn't a horrible person and his messed up family didn't help.
Most of it was tragedy armor though like said.
I'm still fucking mad about that meta discussion in the manga about writing a manga where only bad things happen. Pretentious gets thrown around way too much but this deserves it.

What does that even mean? Lots of people like shounen because there's never any real doubt the good guys will win.

I hated this little bitch and the fact that we were supposed to feel bad for her.
