Sasuke simply reacted to plot twists and was a major figure by associating with the main players by default, Kishi had to use Sasuke to advance Naruto but not the story, the story can move on without Sasuke or narutos relationship with him.

If it weren't for Kabuto they wouldn't have been in it in the first place. Obito never intended to revive Madara as planned and he had an army of fodder. Kabuto enhanced them with Hashirama DNA, making him responsible for all the deaths during the war, then he revived Madara making him responsible for Infinite Tsukuyomi and Black Zetsu/Kaguya. Kabuto is a huge war criminal, way worse than Sasuke or Orochimaru.

I actually don't think Naruto saw anything after the memory of Rin's death because it was the moment the identity of obito died too and his other identity as Tobi the nobody was born.

The Ninshu system is basically what connects people together,it is how he talked with sasuke in the summit(that blue/yellow astral plane) is a part of Ninshu. To establish a complete Ninshu connection you must relate to the other character(which is why Nardo created the bond with Sasuke in summit,where he knew what loss and revenge were. He didn't know them in the valley of end)
