This was a masterpiece wasn't it?
Flip Flappers!

I really like the eyes they have. It has a unique spark of life.
Perfection.
It's not perfect enough to be a masterpiece, but it's one of my favorite anime and will always have a special place in my heart.
I too, especially Coconas eyes. Although some people complained about them, I think they were too big.
>Cockona
The ideal female form
>hurr durr an inherently subjective work of art has to be "perfect" in order to be a masterpiece
Let me guess; you score your anime "objectively"?
I would say only astounding pieces of art that have barely any flaws at all can be considered a "masterpiece". But if you force me to drop this rather specific definition, well okay, Flip Flappers is a masterpiece then.
Even subjective entertainment has objective technical aspects. For anime its the quality of the animation. For games its the graphics and the coherency of the control scheme. As a whole the enjoyment is subjective of course but those can parts can definitely be rated objectively.
Why is there no art of Papika with a pomp?
PLACENTA
eva ripoff
Well then, what are your standards for "objectively" judging the quality of animation? Because according to people who are into traditional animation (i.e. old-school Disney), virtually all anime, save for the Disney wannabe Ghibli, would be considered low-quality garbage. On the other hand, I think that traditional animation is unoriginal and dull.
So you see, it's not as objective as you'd like to think. So I ask you once more, what are your "objective technical aspects"? Is Redline the only """"objective"""" masterpiece anime simply because it has zillion unique frames?
No, that's not how it works, so please, fuck off with your "muh objectively good art".
The ending was really, really bad though.
CUTE!
Did it Flip Flop?
It Flap Flomped all over the place.
This is a commonly used screen.
...
Then the entire industry is an Eva ripoff.
Not the user you're replying to, but do you think that so-called traditional animation fans only like one kind of animation? Most sakugafags are into kanada style and crazy webgen shit. They recognize that shows won't be constant sakuga but stick around for the good parts. Hell, disney and ghibli is boring to sakuga fags. People that're actually interested in animation don't think smoother = better.
And since you were talking about it, there is an objectivity in the quality something is produced, but that doesn't make it objective good (or bad).
It would be funnier if you did it more sparingly, maybe 1 every month.

>but do you think that so-called traditional animation fans only like one kind of animation
From my experience yes.
>Most sakugafags are into kanada style and crazy webgen shit
Anime fans are fundamentally more likely to be open to non-traditional animation. Don't see how that ties in to my post.
>People that're actually interested in animation don't think smoother = better.
It's not about smoothness. Japanese animation follows entirely different philosophy from traditional western animation. If by "people that're interested in animation" you traditionalists, then it truly does boil down to Disney=good, anime=bad. Anime is a joke to them, and honestly, who can blame them? Just look at your average seasonalshit anime.
Yes.

Maybe I misinterpreted your first message because "traditional animation" is generally a blanket term for all 2D animation, although I think your personal definition of it is more fitting. I'm by no means a 'traditionalist' and I don't think you'd ever find one on here. Also not sure why you quoted my smoothness bit to say the same thing.
Being a fan of all different kinds of 2D animation as well, I know what you mean that there's little objectivity in it, but there still is objectivity to a degree. For example, timing in kanada style cuts is very important, objectively worse if you fuck it up. There's a lot of room for play, but still possible to fuck up. Yuasa stuff has seemingly no rules, but still if they can't keep the frames consistent enough it'll look like shit. Basically if it's an established style or method there's a standard to compare it to, but even then it's ultimately still up to the viewer whether it's good or not. Holding everything to 'objectively good' hinders creativity, but shit animation is still shit animation. No one's going around saying slideshows are good unless they're being ironic.
Yeah, I agree.
How old is she?
Why do you wanna know?
Anime is saved
They're 14 I believe, the perfect age.
Papi "if she's 12 I'm 12" kana
There needs to be more art of Papicake desu
Its was very visually interesting and had some good themes. Pity about the ending or it would have been really good.
Papika was present at Cocona's birth.
It suffers from what every anime suffers from. Great premise, great art, great themes, great characters and designs, absolute dogshit writing and plot.
