I always joke about how Legosi is fucking autistic and how there’s so much asspull bullshit in this manga, but looking back at it now from the beginning with Tem’s death all the way to this spiritual flashback of Leano’s suicide, this story is really tragic isn’t it? Louis came from the Back Alley Market, Haru was almost eaten by the Shinshingumi, Gosha and Yafya, even Gouhin had to leave his family just to help people
Despite the jokes and the joy of each other’s companionships of the characters, everyone has a shitty life in this manga
I think it’s beautiful how sincere and real the characters feel, and that’s why I think this is a modern masterpiece in terms of storytelling and character development
