Rewatching the show was a damn trip, at least for me. It was my first anime, watched it back when I was 13 and only just figuring out my pp got hard. Even then it always Misato for me, though for some reason I preferred Rei over Asuka at the time.
Either way, the silhouettes of Rei, Asuka and Misato in the intro as well as the early scene where Shinji falls on Rei's boob gave me the most bittersweet nostalgia boner I've ever had.
