The first 7 episodes were quite good. 1 and 3 were 10/10. It kinda went downhill a bit towards the end.

Because anti-plotfags for one at the end, anti-yurifags at the beginning and potentially now too. Also probably because it has a sizable fanbase that even as one of them I have to admit can sometimes be obnoxious and everyone gets shat on. But Flip Flappers is also a rather unconventional show that some people love and others simply not get, so that adds some extra shittening to it.

Ironically, all of the plot was literally foreshadowed in the OP. That is, if I can even call that foreshadowing, given how blatant it was.

Yeah, it's what I don't get. There was always a plot. It was always about revealing the mysteries behind Pure Illusion at the end and how it was tied to Cocona. The "non-plot" episodes established Coconas and Papikas relationship, which was important for the ending as well, while also explaining the mechanisms of Pure Illusions.
One really great thing about this show is how it never over-explained PI. Even after we knew how it works or how Mimi is tied to it, it was never really demystified. Is Mimi the origin of it? Or if not, why can she control it or access it that easily? Are there other humans like her?

Flip Flappers was written pretty much perfectly for what it wanted to be. And I agree with the over-explaining. Most of the time in fiction, when a mystery is revealed or otherwise explained, it's an utter disappointment. Not the case here.

Well, you are right that the first couple episodes were high quality, but I really didn't like where they went with it towards the end. It felt like a different show altogether. Only later I learned that there was a change of writer. Still, it's pretty good overall.
