I think there's one more side involved in this whole mess. Now I am not sure if Wu, Last Niko and that one other dude are members of Worm or not. The conversation at the end of Asura is pretty ambiguous, it makes it seem like they are part of the worm (the whole topic of killing Ranjo instead of busting him out) but they could have just as easily been other reasons why they wanted to bust him out.

So I am pretty sure that aside from Kengan Association, Purgatory and Worm there is another player in this whole thing. And that player is either somehow connected to the Worm or perhaps Worm split into 2 (or more) splinter factions due to infighting or whatever and they now each have their own goals.

I guess we'll see in due time.

At the end of the day they'll still suddenly find themselves in the same room with a bunch of other new companies they weren't accustomed to dealing with, the only thing the tournament decides is who exactly gets to name and manage the room.

What really bothers me is how anyone would even dare to put up with a job that has that low of a salary. There isn't a catch to it; no promotion after a set of years, no raise, no breaks, long hours and on top of living expenses. While some people tend to complain about saying "Worm" and insist on "Mushi", they make good point that "Worm" isn't the right translation. Personally, I'd say "Centipede" would be much more accurate, especially given the "Gu" ritual was about using centipedes.

I think Gaolang is a very bad matchup for Ohma. He's superior to him in speed and skill and also Demonsbane is a striking technique so i think Gaolang is probably the most suited person in the entire tournament to deal with it, even more then Kuroki. He could easily keep Ohma under too much pressure to get a chance to use it with his speed or bait it out and then counter it. Remember what it took for Agito to land a single clean blow (basically bullshit since his speed quintupled for a second). Prime Ohma is considered top 3, but i just feel Gaolang specifically is a very bad matchup for him.
As for Setsuna/Fang, i see no reason Agito should even take the Palm. His defense is remarkable, he would have seen it in the first round and unlike Kuroki he's an aggressive fighter so he'd also take the initiative.

It's not that the fake got everything else about the face right except for the eyes, but that he did the eyes just well enough to fool people into thinking he was Yuzaki and only Toyoda saw through. Sandrovich writes plot for both, artists are different.
Sandrovich also made Fist of the Seeker, webcomic which he also was drawing (he's a better writer than artist, and that's an understatement), which included Rokushin Kaikan Open Tournament in its first part. Referenced several times in Kengan Asura, same with characters from there. The most known (to average Kengan reader) characters from it are Kureishi (currently the only one who appeared in Danberu and thus in all of Sandrovich works) and Kurachi.

I do like the opening quite a lot.And honestly, the fights should be very good thanks to the motion capture, the flaw if anything is in the models. Overall cautiously looking forward to it.

The only one that might have been able to do that would be Julius, and that would only be because of the sheer strength difference. Kuroki would have to use an extremely evasive/counterattack based style and go for crushing vitals/joints, because if Julius ever got a good hold on him the fight would just be over.

Honestly, if Raian didn't fuck around, he would have beaten Ohma. And if Gaolang fought against that same Ohma, Ohma would have lost. The Advance would just make him easy prey for Gaolang as well, and I don't think Gaolang would screw around long enough to let Ohma power up.

Julius manhandled Wakatsuki like he was a child up until blast core, and Wakatsuki is way heavier than an average person. The sheer power difference is staggering without a giant-killing move like that to take him down.

Raian would have totally fucked Ohma if he was serious, but that wasn't the kind of character that Raian was. He was a psychopathic punk that had too much strength for anyone's good.

Gaolong crushes early Ohma, late Ohma possibly beats Gaolong if he's uninjured. The only reason that I say Ohma might lose is that he gets a lot of mileage out of countering people with their own attack's force (he did this in almost every fight). Gaolang is a lot less strength focused than the others and is unlikely to fall for a counter like Ohma's in the same way.

There was no power difference between him and Wakatsuki. The actual difference between them was that Julius' larger build made him more robust. They have the same level of strength; Wakatsuki's blast core simply allowed him to hit harder than either one of them could normally. And the kick is, you know, a kick. Legs, stronger than arms, etc.

I can see Ohma winning against Gaolang by pulling some good grappling/water kata

The Demonsbane is hard to defend against, though. The point of it is so that it can be performed in any kind of position, so it's not clear exactly how it'll be performed. So as fast as Gaolang is at reacting, he wouldn't be able to react to Demonsbane, I'd say. That said, Demonsbane is as powerful as the attack being countered, so it just wouldn't have the same dramatic effect it had with Wakatsuki. Gaolang would definitely get pretty hurt by it, though, but it would depend on where he gets hit.

said. Go the Okubo way and don't meet the opponent against their strengths. Though again, this depends on what stage of Ohma we're talking about here.

Toyoda is a businessman looking out for his investments. And he isn't taking kindly to someone killing one of his former fighters and most likely is just as wary of this group as he is about the underground fight scenes from other countries invading japan. I like it because it just makes him comparable to Metsudo. A guy who wants to have fun and accumulate as much power as he can. Even going after the Kengan Association is purely business and not anything malicious.

Correct. The only reason why people suspected he was "evil" were facial expressions and "evil looking" panels. This was probably only done to set up the "who murdered Ghost" twist.

Gensai just removes all the possible fun of the matchups he's in though. Same with Agito to a smaller degree.
I'd say next time around replace them with two other characters who we've seen fight, Medicine Man and someone else we know well.

She is in kengan universe and has Wakatsuki level strength when she is trying and her and her brother are about the right age, thats about it though.

She doesn't have the weight to her though (other than fat I mean). Wakatsuki is as heavy as he is tall (kg:cm) iirc.

She's further evolved than him: her muscles are so dense and efficient that she doesn't weigh so much for her power.
