It ended in the middle of an arc, so nothing was really accomplished yet. They randomly put the tower thing in the middle even though it was the climax to the first part. I don't know, maybe with how ridiculous the stakes were you knew Yumeko wasn't going to lose, like no way she was going to cut off a finger, or die, or stop gambling forever, or whatever. I felt that moreso than the first season at least.
First season was better.

The franchise has nothing going for it except the girls designs and contrived situations to make them pose/dress up/make a face/etc.

Yumeko's hatred of Midari is the best part of the show.

They didn't have enough content for the season and completely fucked up the pacing of the plot. That being said, it wasn't bad, just worse than s1.

This. I want to see Mary climb and fall and climb again. Yumeko feels like a storm, not a character, but Mary is such an obvious pick as the MC.

Stakes were a little dumb making the outcome clear, but it was more of the same. It could have used less useless MC tho. I'm glad Sugita was back for a bit too and Kirari secretary made me diamonds.
OP wasn't as aesthetic as the first one but I like it musically. ED is not fabulous tits but the bait makes up for it.

Yeah like literally smack dab after the semiclimax in the middle of season two like out of nowhere and it ruined the pace for the end of the season. I dunno what the showrunners were thinking mixing up the manga chapters like that but it was dumb.

It felt like after the guillotine and poison episodes they couldn't top them so the season went to mediocrity after that. But oh well

I liked this season's OP better than last but although having Yumeko sing and dance to the song like an Idol made sense having a few of the others lip sync to it was kinda cringey though.

Netflix is just the western distributor. In fact, a lot of their "originals" are just shows they buy the rights to. Their Marvel shows were made by ABC Studios (Disney).

I get why some watch anime on Netflix though. Instead of paying for Crunchyroll just wait till Netflix gets their grubby hands on it first. I saw S1 a long time ago so when I saw S2 was available on Netflix I watched it then. That said I'm not like most casuals who saw NGE was available on Netflix and pretended it was a "new" thing or whatever.

Akaji and Kaiji are tonally different from Kakegurui tho I don't know why you guys insist on watching them instead in every Kakegurui thread.

I liked that. It was a nice way to humanize her, a reminder that she's still a high school girl who likes to sing and to dance (like during her idol debut). The lip synch was a nice touch and a great callback to the S1 ED where she did the exact same thing.

at least Rei's 2nd form was pretty hot but then they made her a generic background schoolgirl because in the end she's irrelevant in the bigger picture

I'm not caught up with the manga but they reveal in last episode that Yumeko's mother was destroyed by the Bami Clan so hopefully Yumeko is long term planning on destroying them unless this will just be subvert your expectations bullshit instead.

That's why she wouldn't work as the MC of the main story. The author clearly picked a off-kilter character like Yumeko as MC for a reason. He doesn't want the manga to become a typical shounen. There's Mary's spin-off for that.
