EoE has breathtaking cinematography and that alone is enough to justify its existence.

Both are pretentious bullshit mired by poor production planning that mire what could've been a great sci-fi show with misguided direction but nobody will ever admit that so as not to seem faux pas.

TV ended because Anno ran out of budget like an idiot, it's not that TV is DURR SO DEEP and hard to understand, it's that it looks like shit and is very cheap and just straight out doesn't feel like a good end so a show that had 24 previous really REALLY damn good episodes and animation.

EoE is the ending we deserved if Anno hadn't fucked up on budget, hell there is evidence EoE was going to be the original before he realized he simply didn't have the money to pay the animators for it.

I also agree the Manga ending is really good too

I found the first third of the show entertaining but uninteresting, the middle third insultingly bad, and the final third surprisingly good. People shit talk the final episodes but for me it salvaged the show. And even then I still think EoE is a really good companion to the show. The only exception was the meta monologue, which I found gratuitous.
