This is just awful. The guy has hardly any time to conclude what will probably be the only notable work he leaves behind, and he essentially is just wasting time stalling. This isn't going to save the series. Even if the chapters are comfy it isn't going to make up for the arc. You need to start giving us closure, we need to see where people end up and some more of their final year, not just have it all fed to us in one chapter. That's not going to give us any closure at all. The spin off got cancelled too so this is really it for the entire Soma universe. Why stall now, when you can at least start by giving each character a proper send off? Only good thing is Tosh's art seems to have stepped up a bit, which is probably him trying to salvage his reputation so he actually gets work in the manga business again. Tsukada likely won't get another chance.

We'll probably jump to their graduation, where Soma finally makes his grand appearance in order to graduate alongside his friends, and then we'll hear about what our gang plans to do in the future. Erina will probably finally admit his cooking is delicious, or she won't and Soma will be all "Get ready, Nakiri. From now on all my dishes will be dedicated to you" and shippers will take that as proposal or some shit. The end.

I fucking hate how Tsukuda basically has Tosh play dress up with these characters like the PSD fodder, curry trio or whatever, and Hisako as if we're supposed to be like "wow! Look at these characters we all fell in love with! They all look so grown up and different" when all they fucking contributed to were being cheerleaders. It's probably my own autism but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. He just treats them like their still relevant and important when other than Soma and Erina, all of them were shat on.

This chapter makes me feel that, after all, Soma and Erina won't get down fucking, and neither will Tadokoro or any other known character for that matter

Even while fighting Tsukasa he went into his "carefree" mode and starting fucking around. He doesn't have any motivations. He just got dragged around by the story because he's MC. But he couldn't give a bigger shit about the school or anything because muh diner chef. And then Tsukuda wanted to pretend Souma fell in love when he's almost never shown any emotion besides the two I mentioned.

Then the final bout would've been a 3v1 of Erina/Soma/Isshiki vs Tsukasa.

When he hit the wall that was the second Stagiare test he showed that he was capable of getting serious for a couple of chapters in order to do what he had to do. His goal was to find a specialty that he could call his own and his time with Shinomiya brought him one step closer to that.
Bloody shame that plot point was thrown to the side in favor of all the shit that went down later.

Reminder that the series went to shit because everyone from the school stopped mattering. The entire theme of the series was supposed to be high schoolers fighting for survival and overcoming their own weaknesses to rise to the top but the moment Central got founded none of that mattered.

We never got to see the different school clubs competing for funds and members at the start of 2nd year with Souma joining Nao's gross food club

We never got to see Souma, Curry, and Ryo continue their adventures as the three stooges at the top of first year rankings

We never got to see Smoke, Marui, Isami, Alice, or Ikumi reveal their power level post Stagiare and compete for the top positions in their year

We never got to see Hojo's continued stalking of Megumi

That's a different but related problem with this series, if you aren't a winner character then you're as good as expelled. The only time he was able to get hung up over his losses were when expulsion wasn't on the line, which were during the Shinomiya match and the end of the Autumn Election. Don't remember what his reaction to losing the second one was though.

Regardless of whether Tsukuda actually intended to follow up on what the oneshot set up, the actual manga content isn't exactly flattering towards that interpretation for several arcs into the series. Sure, but plenty of characters in both those series were developed as well, like Rukia and Gaara for example. Who developed in Soma? No one, not even Soma himself while Erina was all over the place in the final arc. Literally no character in this series had a full character arc.

Some people will still try to defend Tsukuda in a sly way with “majority of shonen turn to shit” or “side characters don’t matter” as if they’re saying anything of substance. A sport match is a battle. Call it whatever you want it's all the same shit. The point is almost everyone besides the MC and maybe 1-2 other characters always get left behind by the story because the bad guys keep getting stronger and the entire cast can't logically keep up.

The sudden introduction of some cartoon-ish villain with some dumb reasons, and also making half of the E10 that was barely introduced to us into backstabbing cunts (some for dumb reasons too) was when everything started going down.
SnS's strenght was how the MC(and the other kids) would survive the school's crazy events.
We've always had the "do this or you will be expelled, mwahahaha!", but everyone knew there was no stakes here, so that wasn't a problem, the interesting part was thinking "how will they do it?", "what kind o trick will the mc/the kids pull to complete this challenge?", "how will they improve their skills to deal with it?", just like the training camp or the stagiarie. Of course we had to occasional "fights", like the elections, but there was no life-or-death stakes there, only skills vs skills, so we'd go "who is the best cook between these kids?", "what is his/her speciality, and what will they do?", etc.
But then it came Central and it all went through the window. It was nothing but cheap "you will be expelled kids mwahahaha (half of you already did btw)" with nothing else to go for it, because of course the MC and his troupe would never fail in life or death situations like this.
Someone, be it either Tsukuda, or the editor, or whatever, wanted to give this series/the kids, some REAL challenge, but they have tunnel focused on that so hard, that made it have the opposite effect, and it because no (real) threat at all. And instead of moving on from this failure, they doubled it down with Blue, killing the series for good.
