I kind of expected something like this would happen. Not that the contest would give it to them anyway, but that some record label thinks all the publicity they got made them an ideal group to sign on even if they came in second to Angela.

Plus, they've been a struggling group for half the show now, so the second half is likely them having to deal with the issues that come with their newfound fame. Lol, how will Cybelle react when she finds out that Tuesday's a big star now? Revenge plot part 2?

I expected the anime to be about their failures then the payoff at the end being those magical minutes that makes them stars. If they succeed now then I don't know what is the intro of almost every episode about. Unless the second cour is about something else.

What bothers me is why she looks so much like Tao. If not for that I'd assume you're correct about her never coming back, but her design makes me question if we've really seen the last of her.

Maybe tabloids make up fake stories about them? Like they interview Cybelle and get her side of the story that claims Tuesday led her on and abandoned her after she lost the contest.

This series has some pretty varied character designs, so two characters looking similar might cause people to think there's a connection. Not only that, Cybelle and Tao have pretty much the same hair style, so the resemblance isn't just race like you make it out to be.

I picked this up because Watanabe but dropped it after two episodes because I didn't like the art style and it was a cringy kind of Westaboo pandering (instead of the cool kind like in Bebop and Dandy). Is it any good?

The contest was just a flimsy but true to real life way for Carole and Tuesday to get famous so quickly.

The artstyle and the pandering never change so if they're big issues, you're not going to like it later.

Given how over the top and pointless the drama in the first half of the show was, how will the second half of the show top such drama?

tao has a fucking bob cut and cybelle has a pixie cut. they're nothing alike aside from being short cuts. having said that though is similarity in hair design supposed to be read as motive for conspiracy between the two or even familal relation (as if your preferred choice of hair styling is fucking genetic)

Tao and Cybelle having some kind of connection is actually one of the more common theories about the show.

While I'm not sure I buy into that, with fame comes skeletons in the closet being revealed to everyone. Cybelle could make some future impact even if she stays offscreen and tells the press her warped view of what happened between her and Tuesday.

They should have never made the competition arc the focus of the series, it should have been an episode or two at most.

agreed. the worst part is it got dragged out by forced drama. they could have done a carole and tues goes off sync and bounces back closer than ever character development arc with alot more subtlety and in less time. then again episode 6 made it seem like they were beyonce and thundercats hand picked progeny so idk.
