I don't think it's that far-fetched user. The narrative groundwork is present for it and seems quite solid. Priestess's relationship with Goblin Slayer not only mirrors the protectiveness that a sibling would have, but it also harkens back to how his older sister would teach him important things and take care of him. Goblin's grooming of Priestess is also akin to the mentor-apprentice thing he had with Buglar. She has undoubtedly started to learn how to use GS's main weapons, which are the craftiness, tactics and leadership that comes from imagination; case in point 1) She was put in a position to lead one party later in the story as a plot-point of development for her, and 2) she has started using her spells in unconventional ways, such as when she uses the Purify to turn a goblins blood into water, instantly killing him.
I'd say that the mentor-student relationship of the two is not only probable at this point, it's pretty much canon. Out of anyone else, she's the closest to becoming what GS is, and seems to be the only one that could possibly replace him someday.
