Be honest Yea Forums, did you feel sorry for him?
No_
no. he's a complete failure of a human being and only has himself to blame.
On one hand, no. He was a complete fucking retard the entire second part
On the other hand, yes. His opponent was a literal God.
He did not deserve a hero's death.
Yes. He did literally nothing wrong. The only people he killed were criminals or trying to stop him from killing criminals. If no one tried to stop him, he would have only killed criminals. The world was markedly improved by what he was doing. L, Nier, Mello, and their cronies either couldn't see that or just flat out didn't care.
He was gradually getting more radical, post time skip he was already killing dudes whose names are posted on the internet and when Mikami decided to kill people who doesn't support Kira Light got a little pissed off but only because "it's too soon for that stage"
>Yes. He did literally nothing wrong.
When you have a big public emotional outburst to kill off a random dude on TV only to be BTFO nationwide, you did something wrong of epic proportions.
And then he keeps fucking up. Over, and over, and over, and over. Can't even blame Misamisa because it's always his fault shit gets out of hand in the end.
There was nothing wrong with what he was doing in the beginning and if he wasn't an autistic turbo narcissist there would have been no way for him to be caught.
He also focused way too much on nipland. Had he, after confirming the first death, gone and just totally cleared the ranks of death row inmates or life sentences in the civilized countries of the world, he could have achieved his goal easily.
Yeah, mainly because I would've probably done much the same (without all the convluted shounen plot garbage of course)
Yes
He tried so hard and got so far
But in the end, it didn't even matter
>If no one tried to stop him, he would have only killed criminals
HAHAHAHAHA
Japan's Yakuza and prostitute system would be priority #1 for a self-proclaimed hero of justice living in Japan. Yakuza isn't a secret, you can literally see them on any red light district street.
No but the way he was beaten was bullshit, a combination of this man's nonsense and Mikami deliberately disobeying his orders. Then Near had the audacity to talk down to him as if he had anything to do with it.
Ehh, going after world's top 10 wanted isn't so bad.
He did eventually purge Japan for a long stretch after L was offed.
So? They still deserve to die. You are either correct or you aren't. There is no middle ground.
So? Explain how this is morally wrong? L was defending criminals so they could rot in jail cells, be executed by the state, or be released eventually only to offend again. He was just as bad, if not worse than most criminals.
Criminals or others who deserved it. What about this is hard to believe?
Holy shit you absolute sith
>Criminals or others who deserved it. What about this is hard to believe?
they came for the jews and i said nothing et al
mfw we will never see non-kira light ever again
he was too cute lads and his banter with L was top tier
You honestly think someone with THAT much power would stop at criminals? Did you even watch the show?
I threw in the caveat of others who deserve it. This does include those who defy Kira, and by extension act in defense of criminals. Did you even read the post?
He is and he was the hero the world needs.
People might not agree with what he did, but he is what people need, a real god that you can see and dictate us to his will.
Humankind was meant to follow not lead, and that is why we need a Light, to guide our way.
Not really? I found him sympathetic in the first few chapters or so, but it's not like his moral descent was a slow one.
He was murdering innocent FBI agents and dissenters right from the start, just to prove a point and put himself up on a pedestal to be worshiped. If he actually gave a shit about anyone he might have had some more standards going forward, but literally everyone was just a means to an end.
Christian Bale would have made a good Yagami Light in the Netflix Live Action adaption.
Can anyone else see it? No? I think he fits
No, and anyone who did missed the point.
Light would have been untouchable if he just shut up and didn't kill Lind L. Tailor. But he made it blatantly clear that he wanted the world to know that he existed.
This
Light didn't need all that show off, he deserved every part of it
He was going to move onto lazy people who contribute nothing to society after that you moron. So you’d be next on the chopping block
>L was defending criminals so they could rot in jail cells, be executed by the state, or be released eventually only to offend again. He was just as bad, if not worse than most criminals.
If you paid attention, you'd notice that L was just as much of a sociopath as Light. The only difference was that L stays on the "lawful" side while probably not being THAT much lawful. L vs Light wasn't just a rivalry, they were foils to each other. Same psychopathic personality molds, super intelligence, and they are on different sides of ethics. Nobody's saying L was a saint but L was the one trying to stop murders while Light was committing them.
Light's problem is that he's not about SOLVING the world's problems. Killing off criminals and keeping the population in fear doesn't actually create a utopia. It'll just create a dystopia of people trying to survive / not get caught. Where are the attempts at rehabilitation? He can't cancel deaths or just punish people for a bit somehow and then let them go, it's always death or no death. Can't run a society with exactly one set of binary options. And Light's standards are very much not fixed. He can kill people on a whim for any reason, and he does so all the goddamn time.
We can have stupid arguments like kill the Joker vs rape the Joker but in the end, Light's no different from say, Frank Castle. Except Frank is actually a good guy, albeit severely fucked up and gone off the deep end. Light has no actual morals / qualms about most things. Maybe a little bias towards his blood family but that's about it.
After L died this anime/manga went to shit. Nobody cared about this trashy ending. This anime just aged very well because of the first half.
